This document is meant to serve as a resource to answer some of the most asked questions regarding these signs.

The Texas 30.06 and 30.07 signs that we offer on our website meet the requirements as outlined by the state of
Texas to be compliant.

A private business or property owner may voluntarily create a “weapons free” zone by posting a 30.06 and 30.07 sign on
their premises even though CCW would normally be allowed.

By state law, the owner of a private property may forbid Concealed Carry weapons in or on their premises by
posting a sign stating: “PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.06, PENAL CODE (TRESPASS BY LICENSE HOLDER
WITH A CONCEALED HANDGUN), A PERSON LICENSED UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411,
GOVERNMENT CODE (HANDGUN LICENSING LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH A
CONCEALED HANDGUN.”

Property owners can also forbid Openly Carried weapons by posting a sign stating: “PURSUANT TO SECTION
30.07, PENAL CODE (TRESPASS BY LICENSE HOLDER WITH AN OPENLY CARRIED HANDGUN), A
PERSON LICENSED UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411, GOVERNMENT CODE (HANDGUN
LICENSING LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH A HANDGUN THAT IS CARRIED OPENLY.”

The sign text must be in block letters at least one inch in height with contrasting color and be presented in both
English and Spanish in a manner that is clearly visible to the public.

Property owners should post BOTH signs if they want their property perceived to be completely gun free.
