Like the base trim, locate and mark the center line of the wall studs to
determine where to attach the chair rail. Measure and fit by starting at
a corner or end and miter cutting corners for the best look. Pre-drill
with a 1/16" bit and use 8-penny finish nails to install.

NOTE: Acclimate panels in installation location for 48 hours prior to installation. Subwall must
be dry, clean and free of dirt or debris such as drywall dust. Panels may possess slight color
variations, lay-out panels accordingly. Do not use water-based adhesives. Never nail through
the panels. System is not intended for high moisture areas such as showers. Be careful of
electrical outlets and all other potential installation hazards.

Install Rail Cap

Measure and fit by starting at a corner or end and miter cutting
corners for the best look. Use construction adhesive to attach the
rail cap onto the chair rail. Painter’s tape will hold the rail cap
until the glue sets.

Steps 1–3: Complete Standard Installation (Project 1). Use full panels or

NOTE: Cut the miter first, then cut trim to length. Leave nail heads slightly above the
trim face and set later with nail set to avoid damaging the moulding.

Install Panel, Battens (Optional) & Corners

Start at either end of the wall and install the panels using construction
adhesive. Use three lines of adhesive that are approximately 3/8"
across and 2 1/2' long. Glue or nails are not necessary for applying
optional tongue and groove battens. Use the construction adhesive to
attach inside and outside corner trim after the panels are applied. Use
painter’s tape to hold the corners until the glue sets.

NOTE: Consider the wall layout before applying any panels. To help disguise panel
joints, install the panels with the tongue pointed toward the main view (usually your
room’s entrance). Do not force panels all the way into the tongue and groove as
space is needed for expansion.

Complete Steps 1–3 of Standard Installation (Project 1). Use full panels
or cut to desired height and install in groove on chair rail. Cut panels in
advance based on your ceiling’s height.

Care and Maintenance
To clean panels, use a mild soap solution on a damp-not wet-cloth. Never
apply any cleaner directly on panels or moulding. Dry thoroughly.
For any cleaning solution, test in an inconspicuous area first before using.

SUPREME WAINSCOT LIMITED WARRANTY
The limited warranty set forth below is given by Marlite, Inc. with respect to its new Supreme Wainscot product purchased and used in the United States, its possessions
and territories.
Marlite warrants its Supreme Wainscot product against defects in material and workmanship for a period of three (3) years for residential users, one (1) year for commercial
users, commencing on the date of original purchase and will, at its option, repair or replace, free of charge, any Supreme Wainscot product found to be defective in material or
workmanship. This limited warranty shall only apply if the Supreme Wainscot product has been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines furnished with
the Supreme Wainscot product, and has not been subject to misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, improper maintenance, alteration, fire, water or damage because of other peril or
natural disaster or due to abnormal product exposure to heat, light, moisture, harsh cleaning agents or broad room temperature shifts.
HOW TO OBTAIN ASSISTANCE: Warranty service is available THROUGH MARLITE, INC. by calling 1-330-343-6621, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
EST, or writing to: Marlite, Inc., 202 Harger Street, Dover, Ohio 44622, attention: Supreme Wainscot Warranty. No Supreme Wainscot product returned directly to the factory
will be accepted unless prior written permission has been extended by Marlite.
This limited warranty does not provide coverage in the following cases:
(a)
Defects caused by the improper storage, usage, installation or finishing of the product by the purchaser.
(b)
Marlite does not extend any warranty for Supreme Wainscot products sold or exported outside of the United States of America, its possessions and territories,
except those sold through Marlite’s authorized channels of export distribution.
NO IMPLIED WARRANTY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE,
APPLIES AFTER THE APPLICABLE PERIOD OF EXPRESS WRITTEN WARRANTY ABOVE, AND NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTY OR GUARANTY,
WHETHER WRITTEN OR ORAL, EXCEPT AS MENTIONED ABOVE GIVEN BY ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING A DEALER, DISTRIBUTOR,
SALES REPRESENTATIVE OR RETAILER, WITH RESPECT TO ANY SUPREME WAINSCOT PRODUCT SHALL BIND MARLITE. DURING SUCH
PERIOD, THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE SUPREME WAINSCOT PRODUCT AS SET FORTH ABOVE. (SOME
STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.)
THE PROVISIONS AS SET FORTH IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY PROVIDE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY ARISING FROM THE SALE
OF SUPREME WAINSCOT PRODUCTS. MARLITE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL
LOSSES OR DAMAGES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THOSE INCLUDED FOR LOSS OF USE OF FACILITIES, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF
SAVINGS OR REVENUE, OR FOR RELATED EXPENSES, INCLUDING THOSE RELATED TO THE TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT OF A WARRANTED
PRODUCT. IN NO EVENT SHALL RECOVERY OF ANY KIND BE GREATER THAN THE AMOUNT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE SUPREME
WAINSCOT PRODUCT SOLD. YOU ASSUME THE RISK AND LIABILITY FOR LOSS, DAMAGE, OR INJURY TO YOU AND YOUR PROPERTY
AND/OR TO OTHERS AND THEIR PROPERTY ARISING OUT OF USE OR MISUSE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SUPREME WAINSCOT PRODUCT.
(SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION
OR LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.)
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL NOT EXTEND TO ANYONE OTHER THAN THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER.
