existen tres razones fundamentales por el
cual no coincidimos con la candidatura de
Obama-Biden.
R
ecientemente, se ha hablado mucho
del fenómeno Obamamania que se
esta viendo, no solo en comunidades afro
americanas, sino en muchas comunidades
oprimidas y de color dentro de las fronteras
políticas actuales de los Estados Unidos.
Hay algunas voces que dicen, que Obama
es otro tipo de candidato que nos traerá
esperanza y hará cambios fundamentales y
que estos traerán beneficios para las masas
de nuestro pueblo. Ellos alegan que nuestro
voto es nuestra voz y que Obama es lo
mejor que hay. Y comparan la candidatura
de Obana en contraste al de John McCain,
quien promueve las mismas políticas del
genocida Bush.
La Coalición Pro-Derechos de la Raza ha
mantenido que ninguno de los dos partidos,
demócratas o republicanos, del sistema
político gringo mejorarán las condiciones
fundamentales de nuestra comunidad. Hemos
mantenido desde nuestro inicio en 1989, que
solo una lucha organizada, comprometida
con las necesidades mas elementales del
ser humano por una existencia digna, y el
reconocimiento y respecto a los derechos
humanos creara el cambio a la cual nosotros
aspiramos.
La Coalición Pro-Derechos de la Raza se
basa en hechos concretos y consideramos
importante presentar lo siguiente sobre
Obama y el candidato a la vise-presidencia
Joe Biden y su verdadera agenda de “cambio”.
Pero antes de entrar en detalle sobre los
candidatos demócrata, quisiéramos decir
algunas palabras del candidato Republicano
John McCain.
Es importante decir que John McCain es del
corte mas nefasto de las cúpulas del poder
en Washington. Promueve el expansionismo
militar, la ocupación militar de pueblos (Irak
y Afganistán), cree que los ricos no deberían
pagar impuestos, promueve la expansión del
muro de la muerte e incremento de personal
de la migra para que siga aterrorizando a
nuestro pueblo, está alineado a los intereses
de las empresas petroleras. Fidel Castro
resume a este personaje de manera clara
en sus reflexiones titulada: El Candidato
Republicano, publicadas del 11-16 de febrero
del presente año. La Coalición comparte
plenamente la perspectiva del compañero
Fidel y por estas razones denunciamos
enérgicamente la presidencia del candidato
republicano John McCain.
1. Obama se ha pronunciado a favor de
continuar con el reforzamiento e incremento
de la militarización en la frontera. Una y otra
vez ha declarado que una reforma en el tema
migratorio deberá poner como condición a
una frontera que pueda garantizar la seguridad
nacional. En sus declaraciones Obama ha
mantenido que su apoyo por la construcción
del muro fronterizo podrá garantizar la
seguridad de Estados Unidos. Es claro que
a Obama también se le olvidáron las mas de
5,000 muertes de hombres, mujeres y niños
a los largo de la frontera entre México y
Estados Unidos.
2. En el tema de política exterior, Obama
recientemente reiteró su apoyo continuo
al bloqueo criminal contra el pueblo de
Cuba al hacer una peregrinación a Miami
y hablar, sombrero en mano a la Fundación
Nacional Cubana Americana. Este
organismo terrorista al servicio de la CIA
ha atacado a su propio pueblo desde que
salieron huyendo de Cuba tras el heroico
triunfo de la revolución del Movimiento 26
de Julio en enero de 1959. Ahora, Obama
tiene las agallas de aparecer frente a los
cubanos blancos y racistas, y disculparse
por la abolición de la desigualdad racial y
se atreve a prometerles que trabajara para
implementar la regresión al sistema feudal,
dependiente, y racista de antes. También
habla de derechos humanos cuando con
sus acciones defiende a un sistema que
por siglos ha atropellado los derechos
fundamentales de su propio pueblo. Que
incongruencia. Es claro que a Obama se le
olvidaron los continuos actos de terrorismo
del gobierno de Estados Unidos en contra
del pueblo heroico cubano.
En el mismo tema, Obama también reiteró
su apoyo a Israel, un estado que aplasta y
sofoca los derechos humanos
de los pueblos nativos
palestinos y ocupa
territorios que
no son suyosuna copia

ecently there has been much talk about
the “Obamamania” phenomenon, not
only in African American communities, but
also in many oppressed communities of color
within the current political borders of the
U.S. There are some voices that are saying
that Obama is another type of candidate
that brings hope and will bring fundamental
changes, and that these will benefit the
majority of people. They argue that our
vote is our voice, and that Obama is the best
that’s out there, when compared to the other
presidential candidate John McCain.
The Raza Rights Coalition has maintained
that neither one of the political parties,
democrats or republicans of the gringo
political system will improve our conditions
as a people. We have maintained since our
beginning in 1989, that only an organized
struggle, committed to achieving a dignified
existence-, which means ensuring that every
one has access to the basic needs in order
to live-, a recognition and respect for human
rights, will bring about the necessary chage
that our community aspires towards. The
candidate in either McCain or Obama-Biden
will not do this.
The Raza Rights Coalition bases its
understanding on the concrete reality on
which Barack Obama and Joe Biden represent
in terms of “real change.” However before
we enter into details of the Democratic Party
candidate, we would like to say just a few
things about the Republican candidate John
McCain.
It is important to say that John McCain is
of the most nefarious characters in political
power in Washignton D.C. He promotes
military expansion, military occupation of
nations (Irak and Afghanistan), he believes
that the rich should not have to pay taxes,
promotes the expansion of the Border Wall
(wall of death) and increasing in the number
of Border Patrol and ICE agents- that
political police that terrorizes our
communities, and finally he
is aligned with the huge
oil industry. Fidel
Castro wrote a
summary
of
John McCain
in
his
reflections entitled : The Republican
Candidate, written between February 1116 of this year. The Raza Rights Coalition
completely agrees with the observations
made by Compañero Fidel Castro and for
these reasons we energetically reject the
candidacy of John McCain for President of
the United States.
The Raza Rights Coalition bases itself on
concrete facts, and we consider important to
present the following on the Obama-Biden
candidacy and their agenda for “change.”
1. Obama has pronounced himself in favor
of continuing with the re-enforcement and
increase in the militarization of the border.
Time and time again he has declared that
a reform on the issue of immigration
should have as a condition a border that
would guarantee national security. In his
declarations Obama has maintained that his
support for the construction of the wall of
shame will be able to guarantee the security
of the U.S. It is clear that Obama also has
forgotten about the more than 5,000 deaths
of men, women, and children along the U.S./
Mexico border.
2. On the issue of exterior politics, Obama
recently reiterated his continued support for
the criminal blockade against the Cuban
people, as he made a pilgrimage to Miami to
speak, with a sombrero in hand he spoke to
the National Cuban American Foundation.
This terrorist organism that renders service
to the CIA has attacked its own people
since they ran out of Cuba after the heroic
Revolution of 1959. Now Obama has the
“guts” to appear in front of white & racist
Cubans, and apologize for the abolition of
racial inequality, and he dates to promise to
work to implement regression to the feudal,
dependent, and racist system of before.
He also speaks of human rights when his
actions defend a system that for decades
has trampled over the fundamental rights of
its own people. What a contradiction. It is
clear that Obama forgot the continuous acts
of terrorism of the U.S. government against
the heroic Cuban peoples.
On the same note, Obama also reiterated
his support for Israel, a state that tramples
and suffocates human rights of the native
Palestine peoples and occupies territories
not belonging to them-a photocopy of the
U.S. in the Middle East. In fact, he has not

Día Internacional de las y los Trabajadores

n May 1st, 2008, a day honored throughout the world as International Workers’ Day, hundreds of workers, students, and
youth marched throughout downtown San Diego demanding respect of labor rights and an immediate halt to immigration raids.
The day’s events, which began at San Diego City College and
followed by a rally at Pantoja Park and a Popular Assembly at Chicano Park, was organized by a collective known as the May 1st
Coalition and comprised of organizations such as the Raza Rights
Coalition, Si Se Puede Coalition, Colectivo Zapatista de San Diego, San Diego Coalition for Peace and Justice, and many others.
l 1o de mayo es celebrado en todo el mundo como El Día Internacional del Trabajador/a, en San Diego cientos de trabajadores
y estudiantes marcharon en el centro de la ciudad para demandar respeto a los derechos laborales y un alto inmediato a las redadas de
inmigración.
El evento del día dio inicio con la marcha que partió del Colegio
Comunitario de City College, la cual presencio un breve programa en
el Parque Pantoja y culmino con el evento de la Asamblea Popular en
el Parque Chicano. Las actividades del día fueron organizadas por la
Coalición 1o de Mayo-San Diego, la cual se compuso de varias organizaciones como la Coalición Pro Derechos de la Raza, Coalición

Raza Rights Coalition hold an Assembly of People’s Struggle at Chicano Park on May 1st
This event marked a historic moment wherein groups fighting different fronts in the battle against social injustice and the repression
of human rights worked in solidarity to demand an end to institutionalized oppression.
At Chicano Park, more than 300 people assembled to demonstrate the unity and power of Raza communities in San Diego. With
over 15 national flags from Latin America waving proudly and the
air ringing loudly with chants of, “El Pueblo Unido, Jamás sera
Vencido!,” the atmosphere was festive. Adding to the celebratory
vibes were performances from Viajeros de San Diego a Norteño
Band and Ballet Folklorico Tapatio de San Diego. With speakers
from the Committees on Human Rights Digna Ochoa, 2 de Octubre, Latinos Unidos, the Association of Raza Educators, the Comité de Mujeres Patricia Marín, MEChA de SDU and San Diego
City College and the Justice for Janitors Campaign, among others,
the demands of the Raza community were clear:
1. Full employment with union jobs and decent wages.
2. Quality public education for all our children including Chicano/Raza Studies and Bilingual Education at all levels.
3. Free health care for all people.
4. Decent affordable housing.
5. Community control of the police and sheriffs.
6. Abolishment of the racist Migra (Border Patrol & ICE) and the
immediate demilitarization of the Mexico/U.S. border.
7. End to the importation and promotion of drugs in our communities and barrios.
8. An end to U.S. intervention in Mexico, Latin America and all
over the globe.
9. An immediate halt to Free Trade Agreements (NAFTA, CAFTA, FTAA etc.) and the support for the Bolivarian Alternative of
the Américas (ALBA).
10. A Clean and Healthy Environment.
11. Social justice and true democracy in México.
International Workers Day commemorates the rally held to protest the brutal killing of strikers demanding an eight-hour work day
by Chicago police on May 1st, 1886. The rally, disrupted by police,
resulted in the death of at least a dozen innocent people and the
unlawful persecution of demonstrators based on political beliefs.
To this day, repressive policing agencies throughout the world continue to wage war against working-class people who demand better
living and labor conditions. Consequently, Raza peoples will never
give up fighting for the end to this suppression and for the right for
a dignified life.

Diego por la Paz y la Justicia, entre otras. Este evento marcó la historia ya que organizaciones que cotidianamente hacen frente a la injusticia social y la represión en contra de la humanidad, se unificaron en
solidaridad para poner un alto a la opresión de las diferentes instituciones represoras del gobierno.
En el Parque Chicano más de 300 personas estuvieron presentes
para demostrar el poder de la unidad de las comunidades de San Diego. Con más de 15 diferentes banderas de nuestra América Latina
ondeando y con el grito unificado de: ¡EL PUEBLO UNIDO, JAMAS
SERA VENCIDO! se podía sentir una atmósfera de celebración. Para
contribuir con la celebración el grupo Norteño de los Viajeros del
Norte y el Ballet Folklórico Tapatío de San Diego dieron vida al programa. Oradores del Comité de Derechos Humanos Digna Ochoa, 2
de Octubre, Latinos Unidos, la Asociación de Educadores de la Raza,
el Comité de Mujeres Patricia Marín, SDSU MEChA y MEChA de
City College y compañeras y compañeros conserjes del sindicato
SEIU!, pusieron en claro las demandas de la Raza:
1) Empleo total con trabajos sindicalizados y salarios dignos
2) Educación culturalmente relevante y de calidad, publica y accesible a todos los niveles para nuestra juventud-incluyendo Educación Bilingüe/Estudios Chicanos/Raza
3) Servicios de salud gratuitos y de calidad para todo el pueblo
4) Vivienda decente y económicamente accesible
5) Control comunitario de la Policía y los Alguaciles
6) Abolición de la Migra (Patrulla Fronteriza y ICE) y la desmilitarización inmediata de la Frontera
7) Alto a la importación de drogas a nuestros barrios
8) Alto al intervencionismo de Estados Unidos en México, América Latina y el mundo
9) Suspensión inmediata a los tratados de Libre Comercio ( TLCAN, CAFTA, ALCA, etc.) y el apoyo a la Alternativa Bolivariana
para América Latina y el Caribe (ALBA)
10) Exigimos un medio ambiente limpio y saludable
11) Justicia social y verdadera democracia en México
El Día Internacional de los y las Trabajadores conmemora una
asamblea que se llevo a cabo en demando por la jornada laboral de
8 horas en la que los huelguistas sufrieron represión por parte de la
policía de Chicago el 1o de mayo de 1886. Esta represión tuvo como
resultado el asesinato de varios de los participantes a manos de la
policía, así como la continua persecución ilegal de los trabajadores
que se baso en sus creencias políticas y la defensa a la mejora de
las condiciones laborales. En la actualidad las políticas represivas
de agencias e instituciones alrededor del mundo continúan con una
guerra sin cuartel en contra del pueblo de la clase trabajadora quienes
buscan mejorar sus condiciones de vida y laborales. Como consecuencia el pueblo nunca renunciara a la lucha contra la opresión y
por el derecho a una vida digna.

¡EL PUEBLO DEFIENDE SU DIGNIDAD Y
RESISTE EL TERRORISMO DE LA MIGRA/ICE!
E
l 26 mayo del 2008 el Comité de Derechos Humanos Digna Ochoa, junto
con los comités, colectivos, y proyectos de
la Coalición Pro-Derechos de la Raza, realizó una Esquina de Resistencia en la calle
35 y Nacional, frente al centro comercial
Food Palace, en Barrio Logan, México
Ocupado.
En presencia estuvo alrededor de veinte y cinco personas tomando las riendas de
su propio futuro, y exigiendo un alto a la
separación de nuestras familias. Todos los
colectivos y proyectos de la Coalición estuvieron representando todos los sectores
de nuestra comunidad: los maestros, los jóvenes, los trabajadores, los presos, y la mujer, demostrando nuestra unidad por vivir
sin miedo y denunciando el terrorismo de
estado ya que hubo una reciente incursión
de la migra en nuestra comunidad.
Tomamos la esquina de nuestro barrio
para exigir un alto a los operativos de ICE/
Migra, y a sus graves violaciones a los derechos humanos a lo largo del país. En San
Diego, ICE anuncio haber detenido a mas
de 900 personas en solo tres semanas. A la
fecha, no hay ningún partido político, ni
candidato, ni político que ah condenado las
acciones de estos tipos de ataques contra
nuestra comunidad. Entrando en nuestra
Campaña por la Dignidad como Coalición
Pro Derechos de la Raza, es aun mas importante reconocer que nuestra gente no
tiene el apoyo de estos.
No permitiremos que ICE siga aterrorizando a nuestras comunidades, y reconocemos nuestra compromiso a organizarnos
como comunidad, porque solo unidos podemos poner un alto a esta realidad. Organizados podemos defender el derecho al
trabajo, a la justicia, y a la dignidad.

n May 26, 2008 Digna Ochoa Human
Rights Committee, along with the
projects and committees of the Raza Rights
Coalition, took to the streets in an Esquina
de Resistencia on 35th & National, in front
of the Food Palace shopping center, in Barrio Logan, Occupied Mexico.
There were about twenty-five people
present, taking control of their own destinies, and demanding an immediate stop
to the separation of our families. All of
the collectives and projects of the RRC
were present, representing all sectors of
our community: teachers, youth, workers,
prisoners, and women, showing our unity.
We took the streets of our barrio to demand an immediate stop to the ICE/Migra
terrorism, and their serious violations to
human rights all over the country. In San
Diego, ICE announced the detention of
more than 900 people in only three weeks.
To date, there has been no political party,
candidate, or politician that has condemned
these actions or types of attacks against our
community. Entering our Campaign for
Dignity as the Raza Rights Coalition, it is
more important today than ever to recognize that our people do not have the support of these.
We will not allow ICE to continue terrorizing our communities, and we recognize our commitment to organize our communities, because only united we will be
able to put a stop to this reality. Organized,
we will be able to defend our right to work,
to justice, and to dignity.

Women: Organized and Prepared in Self-Defense
Mujeres Organizadas y Preparadas en su Defensa Propia
T
he reality of violence against women
is widespread in our communities. It
is an issue that the Comite de Mujeres Patricia Marin chose not to ignore but to deal
with head on during the month of May
2008. CMPM organized a free self defense
workshop that focused on the 10th-point
in the platform of
the CMPM which
states “We believe
that Raza women’s
physical and psychological integrity
must not be violated. Any violation
must be severely
punished”. As a
means to empower
mujeres and also
to provide them
with the priceless
gift of self-defense,
the CMPM hosted a workshop that enabled women from
the communities of Sherman and Logan
Heights to experience real hitting and striking as well as obtain basic knowledge of
awareness of environment and safety tips.
The free self-defense event was held at
the Sherman Heights Community Center on
Saturday, May 31st. Some of the topics discussed were avoiding potentially dangerous
situations, being in the mental frame necessary (rational and calm) to defend oneself,
what to do when we see others being attacked and what to do when the violence and
confrontation comes from police and other
repressive forces. The intent was not to be a
martyr and individually take on aggressors
individually but rather to provide an insight
on what can be done especially if the support can be found close by. The second half
of the workshop allowed mujeres to experience first hand and defend against physical
confrontation in the way of choke attacks,

grabs and attacks that occur while on the
ground. It was evident that the women felt
empowered as they yelled “NO!” and kneed
and hit the shields and their attackers. Acting as attackers for the women were CMPM
member, Jessica Lara, her mother, Rosie
Barker and fellow karate black belt, Daima

a las mujeres y también proporcionarles un
regalo para toda la vida sobre su defensa

Patricia Marin. The Comite de Mujeres
Patricia Marin strives to provide quality,
relevant discussions and events that foster
the empowerment of mujeres. It is the goal
of the Comite de Mujeres Patricia Marin, to
not only empower women but to raise the
political consciousness of all mujeres. Our
struggle for true liberation is alive and well,
and it is the women who are going to help
lead that struggle alongside with our companeros.
¡Que viva la mujer!. As a result of the survey from the attendees, we would like to
ensure we continue to address their needs
and wishes to continue offering
self-awareness, promotion of
mujeres to defend their dignity and respect. For those
interested in what the Comite de Mujeres Patricia Marin
has offered and will continue to offer, we meet on
the 1st Thursday
of every month
at Chicana Perk
Café (25th and Imperial) at 6:30pm.

obtener conocimiento básico sobre sus alrededores y puntos de seguridad.
El evento sobre la defensa personal
gratuito se llevo a cabo en el Centro Comunitario de Sherman el sábado, 31 de
mayo. Algunos de los temas de los cual se
discutieron fueron como evitar situaciones
potencialmente peligrosas, estando en el
marco mental necesario (racional y tranquilo) para defenderse, que hacer cuando
vemos a otros que están siendo atacados y
que hacer cuando la violencia y confrontaciones son de parte de los elementos
policíacos y otros elementos represivos.
La intención no fue de ser una víctima o de
tomar ha agresores individualmente, pero
mejor dicho proporcionar un entendimiento sobre lo que se puede hacer si hay apoyo
disponible en ese momento. La segunda
parte del taller permitió que las mujeres
experimentaran como defenderse contra
una confrontación física, tal como, ataques
de estrangulación, agarrones y ataques en
el piso. ¡Era evidente que las mujeres se
sintieron empoderadas cuando gritaban
“¡NO!” y daban rodillazos y golpes a los
protectores y sus atacantes. Las mujeres
que se hicieron pasar como atacantes fue
un miembro del Comité de Mujeres, Jessica Lara, su madre, Rosie Barker y una
compañera de cinturón negro en karate,
Daima Phipps.
La necesidad sobre esta clase de esfuerzo fue muy clara debido ha las respuestas
obtenidas por las mujeres de la comunidad.
Muchas estaban muy entusiasmadas en
asistir a más eventos organizados por el Comité Mujeres Patricia Marín. El Comité de Mujeres
Patricia Marín se esfuerza por
proporcionar discusiones y eventos de calidad y que cultivan el
empoderamiento de las mujeres.
El objetivo del Comité de Mujeres Patricia Marín es de no sólo
empoderar ha las mujeres pero de
crear conciencia política de todas
las mujeres. Nuestra lucha por
la verdadera liberación aun vive y son las
mujeres las que van a ayudar a guiar esa
lucha al lado de nuestros compañeros.
¡Que viva la mujer!. Después de haber leído y analizado las respuestas de la
pequeña encuesta que se les proporciono
ha las asistentes, continuaremos dirigiéndonos y trabajando hacia sus necesidades,

Raza Fighting Against Prison
Terror, Genocide, and Colonialism
ince the United States occupation, in 1848, of northern Mexico, i.e. Tejas, Nuevo
Mexico, Arizona, Alta California, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada, Mexicans have
been victims of the racist United States legal system. For more than one hundred
years, along with lynching, the imprisonment of Mexicans has been a principal means of
control, oppression, and the dispossession of our lands. Mexican freedom fighters have
been incarcerated and executed in U.S. prisons; two of the most famous were Tiburcio
Vázquez in San Quentin, Ca., (in1875) and Ricardo Flores Magon in Leavenworth, Kansas (in 1922). And, since the late 1800s, the prisons built around the city of Huntsville,
Tejas, have been the notorious sites for brutality and execution of literally hundreds of
Mexicans.

THE MASS INCARCERATION OF RAZA BY THE
COLONIAL INSTITUTION KNOWN AS THE
UNITED STATES CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
PRISONS HAVE BECOME TOOLS OF TERRORISM
Today, hundreds of thousands of Raza, men and women, young and old, due to poverty,
injustice, or for violating so-called “immigration laws”, find themselves locked-up in
prisons throughout the United States. The rights of many of these prisoners are daily
trampled upon by bigoted, racist, and sadistic prison guards and officials. Moreover, prisons have become tools of genocide, terror, and colonialism, weapons to be used indiscriminately against the Mexican-Raza community.
To address the racist and unjust incarceration of Mexicans and other Raza, on Sat, June
28, 2008, the Chicano Mexicano Prison Project (CMPP), united with over 10 progressive and self-determination oriented organizations, to organize its 11th conference on the
question of Raza and the Prison Industrial Complex. The conference, attended by over
50 prison rights activists, was held in Oxnard, CA.
The theme of the conference was “Raza Fighting Against Prison Terror, Genocide, and
Colonialism”. The conference focused on two areas: (1) How The Criminal Justice and
Prison System Works to Oppress Raza, and (2) Fighting Back Against The Criminalization and Mass Imprisonment of La Raza.
The main objectives of this year’s conference were:
- To expose the many ways that prisons and incarceration are used to oppress Raza
and other poor people.
- To enable the representatives of prisoner rights/anti-prison organizations, to share
and dialogue on how best to fight back against the prison industrial complex
- To continue the unity of activists and organizations doing work to end the use of
prisons as a tool of oppression, genocide, and colonization.
- To support the Raza Rights Coalition’s campaign of “Ni Democratas, Ni Republicanos -Solo El Poder del Pueblo Organizado Vencera!”

WHEREAS, the United States Criminal Justice
System by its intent and action has shown itself
to be racist, anti-poor and anti-working class;
and
WHEREAS, hundreds of thousands of Mexicanos/Centro Americanos and other
indigenous people are imprisoned on native land by an oppressing foreign colonial system
that itself is illegal; and
THE CONFERENCE ADDRESSED THE QUESTION OF WOMEN, YOUTH, AND
NEED FOR INDEPENDENT ORGANIZATION
The issues and concerns that were addressed
by the conference include relating incarceration and the struggle for liberation to the questions of la mujer (women’s liberation), youth,
security housing units (SHU), colonialism,
capitalism, Black and Brown unity, internationalism, education, political prisoners, importance of organization, prison violence, and
the human rights of prisoners.

This year’s conference was dedicated to Raul Salinas, a compañero with long history of
activism and production of progressive and revolutionary poetry, who passed away on
Feb. 13, 2008, in Austin, Tejas. For four decades, Compañero Raul fought for human
rights and the liberation of all oppressed people and nations.
A particular highlight of the conference was acceptance of a proposal that called for
those attending to expose the role that prisons and the so-called criminal justice system
play in the oppression of Raza, and to work unity to end prison terror, genocide, and colonialism. The CMPP will work, for the rest of the year 2008,
to put into action the conference proposal.
WHEREAS, Capitalism and colonialism are
by their exploitative nature breeders of crime
and therefore must be eliminated; and
WHEREAS, the current prison industry has
become a cornerstone of U.S. Capitalism and
will be maintained at any cost by those that
benefit from it; and
WHEREAS, the Capitalist/colonialist system
uses new and existing laws to eliminate its
threats, and prisons to specifically neutralize
indigenous liberation movements; and.
WHEREAS, the general European/White
population and neocolonialists (vendidos),
as material and social beneficiaries from the
incarceration of Raza and other oppressed
people, support the increase in prisons; and
WHEREAS, the growing incarceration
rate of Raza women is destroying families,
controlling population, and is a form of ethnic
cleansing and part of a greater U.S. genocidal
WHEREAS, the criminalization and incarceration of Raza youth is another form of
genocide as their current mass imprisonment is killing our community’s potential future;
Therefore Be It Be Resolved, that conference attendees agree to unite as a
“frente” to actively struggle against the mass incarceration of Raza and other oppressed
people and work toward the destruction of the Prison Industrial System; and

de Policía de San Diego ha estado realizando operativos con el fin de extorsionar dinero del pueblo para el beneficio de la ciudad de San Diego. La
policía ha incrementado notablemente

a educación es un derecho que todas las personas tenemos, y así está escrito y amparado
bajo el artículo 26 de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos.
Sin embargo, la inequidad educativa en grupos minoritarios y de bajos recursos, refleja
completamente otra realidad abriendo brechas enormes entre los estudiantes blancos
que terminan la Universidad, y los estudiantes de color que apenas si se gradúan de la
secundaria.
Cada año se repite la misma historia, las estadísticas son realmente alarmantes y debería
de preocuparnos la realidad que viven nuestros hijos. La deserción escolar a partir
del octavo grado va en aumento, así como la integración de más pandillas en nuestras
comunidades y el dramático ascenso de criminalidad en jóvenes de color; la construcción
de más cárceles que escuelas públicas en nuestros barrios y los nulos programas de
prevención en violencia juvenil, en lugar de centros insensibles de rehabilitación.
Aunque usted no lo crea, todo esto es el resultado de una educación desigual que se les
ofrece en las aulas a nuestros hijos; y el reflejo de la poca visión y las bajas expectativas
que tienen para ellos quienes están a cargo de hacerlos triunfar. Los padres tenemos
una misión muy importante, y de nosotros dependen las bases que los formaran; pero en
las escuelas en donde estudian se encuentra el otro complemento que los ayudará a que
alcancen el éxito al realizar sus sueños.
Si analizamos el complejo sistema educativo de este país, entenderemos la causa
principal por la que una gran mayoría de estudiantes de color están abandonando las
aulas, para integrarse lastimosamente a las calles en donde en lugar de encontrar ayuda,
se hunden cada vez más en una marea de vicios. Para eso, echemos un vistazo por encima
sobre la historia de la educación en Estados Unidos.
Primeramente, tenemos que saber que el sistema educativo en esta nación fue creado
como una institución, que en término sociológico representa una formación social con
un propósito, y que se reproduce a sí misma. Este propósito educativo estaba dirigido
a los puritanos (peregrinos) que colonizaron a Estados Unidos, en general se enfocaban
en educar a los hijos de la clase privilegiada (no a las mujeres); quedando excluidos la
gente pobre, los esclavos, las mujeres y los indios nativos. Aunque con el tiempo se han
logrado cambios favorables, la discriminación y la opresión en el derecho igualitario de
la educación, continúa institucionalizada en la fibra de la Constitución de los Estados
Unidos.
En la actualidad podemos ver como los indicadores de la inequidad educativa del pasado,
continúa en nuestro presente en pleno siglo XXI y en un país poderoso y “democrático”.
Aunque suene a fantasía o un poco irreal para algunos, la verdad es esta, para llegar a
la Universidad se toman en cuenta los siguientes requisitos: clase económica, etnicidad,
idioma, religión, nivel educativo de los padres, género y color.
Tal vez usted como muchos piense que las cosas no son así, y que todos pueden llegar
a la Universidad si lo desean, pero lamento decir que en términos generales la educación
sigue siendo clasista y elitista, y sólo para unos cuantos; en pocas palabras, para los que
tienen lo suficiente para pagar un espacio dentro de sus aulas. Además, las estadísticas no
mienten, 50% de los estudiantes latinos no están en sus niveles académicos. Únicamente
22% de los graduados de escuelas preparatorias públicas que satisfacen los requisitos “de
A a la G” en comparación con un 40% de estudiantes blancos no latinos, están capacitados
para asistir a una Universidad. Un 15 % de ellos llegara a la máxima casa de estudios por
cuatro años y sólo el 10% obtendrá una licenciatura, ¿no le dicen nada estás cifras?
Aunque a las cosas las pinten de otro color y seamos constantemente bombardeados
con información sobre miles de oportunidades, la verdad está ahí, nuestros jóvenes
están quedando fuera de las Universidades porque no tienen espacios de identidad, ni
programas preocupados por entender una masa crítica en donde la diversidad latina es
enorme. Otro factor es que desde que inician el camino en el kinder y todo el resto de
sus estudios, no están siendo preparados para los retos, no se les implementa el rigor y
la excelencia académica, no se les enseña a razonar ni les desarrollan una conciencia
crítica social y política; ni son capacitados para competir en un mundo globalizado.
Se les entretiene con clases académicas mediocres y se les limita con clases electivas
que de nada les sirven, pero que nos dan el claro mensaje de lo que esperan de nuestros
hijos: como cuidar bebés, aprender a cocinar galletitas, dibujar manos y caras, hornear un
pan, etcétera; mientras los estudiantes anglosajones y asiáticos están en laboratorios de
computadoras, de ciencias, de comunicaciones, de arte, de ajedrez; recorriendo museos,
teatros y haciendo viajes de investigación, de conocimiento sobre la historia mundial y
desarrollando su intelecto. Esa es la diferencia de una educación que no es igualitaria, es
la razón del fracaso de muchos y del éxito de pocos.
Como padres y como parte de una comunidad en la que vivimos, tenemos la obligación
de luchar por que nuestras escuelas tengan el rigor académico que llevará a nuestros hijos
a ser profesionistas; tenemos el deber de levantar nuestras voces para que su derecho a
una educación equitativa sea respetado, y para que ese 80% de jóvenes latinos que no
terminan la preparatoria, deje de convertirse en el 80% de los adultos que van a prisión.
Nuestro compromiso como Observadores y Promotores de Derechos Humanos es hacer
valer esos derechos; y en educación es lograr la apertura a mayores oportunidades para
nuestros estudiantes, en donde el sistema educativo sea capaz de integrar a las minorías
con sensibilidad, transparencia, objetividad,
respeto e igualdad.

SDSDU MEChA Raza Grad: A New Generation of
Graduates Prepare to Struggle In Defense of La Raza
O
n Sunday May 18th, MEChA de San
Diego State University held its annual
Raza Grad. Raza Graduation is a
poltically and culturally relevant celebration
that provides a more intimate and personal
feeling to the accomplishments achieved
by Graduating Raza, than the departmental
graduations.
This intimate commemoration allows students
to participate in a more meaningful celebration
amid fellow Raza graduates who share a
similar background. Most importantly, Raza
Graduation serves as a means to communicate
the importance of an education for Raza youth,
current Mechistas, families and the community.
The closeness of this ceremony is a reflection of
the Raza community and our values as la Raza
are conveyed through the messages delivered
by the keynote speakers, the student speakers,
the Raza faculty, the cultural entertainment,
the bilingual programming and the food.
Raza Grad is unique due to the fact that it is
entirely created, organized, and fundraised by
Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán
(MEChA) de San Diego State (SDSU).
MEChA de SDSU coordinates and fundraises
absolutely everything that goes into Raza
Grad. What also sets Raza Grad apart from
departmental graduations is that Raza Grad
is more personable and inclusive of student
input.

This year Raza Grad kicked off with
a cultural performance by Mujeres en
Resistencia. Mujeres en Resistencia set
the mode for the graduation by combining
our indigenous traditions with modern day
struggles. Rodolfo Jacobo opened the
event and served as the master of ceremony,
(MC). Rodolfo Jacobo is a Chicano Studies
professor at SDSU and has been a big
supporter of MEChA. After welcoming
how being a MEChista helped him to
learn about the movement for Raza selfdetermination and he emphasized that
one’s participation in this movement
does not end after getting a college
degree. Now as a founder and leading
member of Unión del Barrio in South
Central Los Angeles, Ron encouraged
the graduates to continue organizing in
their respective communities and to use

prometido una solución o esperanza si nos “portamos bien” y si los privilegiados van y
depositan su voto en las urnas y se sientan a esperar los “cambios”. Es hora de decir, ¡Ya
basta! a estos engaños y asumir nuestra responsabilidad en crear los cambios verdaderos
desde las bases de nuestra sociedad; manzana, comunidad, ciudad, condado.
Por esto, la Coalición Pro-Derechos de la Raza a inicios del año en su retiro anual
discutió la importancia de esta campaña: ¡Ni Demócratas, Ni Republicanos-Solo el
Poder del Pueblo Organizado Vencerá! No podemos seguir buscando o esperando que
un político de la clase dominante (los ricos) salga a “salvarnos”. No podemos limosnear
la dignidad. No podemos esperar que la buena voluntad de los “buenos ciudadanos”
nos caiga encima y que un milagro a través del voto nos salve de las deportaciones y
los abusos diarios. Si queremos cambios verdaderos, si queremos poder ver a los ojos
a nuestros hijos y crear un mejor mañana para ellos, debemos ser honestos y llegar a la
realización que la hora de luchar ha llegado. La necesidad de entregar nuestro tiempo
e integrarnos a un proceso organizativo es ahora. Para poder crear los cambios que son
necesarios habrá que empezar desde abajo-desde las bases.
La solución no esta en los políticos que solo buscan el puesto y quienes pronto olvidan
las promesas. No serán los ricos en el poder quienes rompan las cadenas de opresión-la

proposed a fundamental change in the war and the occupation in Iraq, except for a few cosmetic
changes. Now he proposes “more support for the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan
without questioning at any point the doctrine of imperialism and Yankee Intervention in the
Middle East. Once again Obama forgot to mention the more than 600,000 victims of the war
and occupation in Iraq.
3. His economic program has not really contemplated something substantial in terms of
fundamental changes that will really better the living conditions of the working class. He
speaks of change and does not propose any real amelioration for workers, farmers, students,
housewives, and other sectors of our community. The most deplorable thing is that his
rhetoric of hope creates more confusion than a real solution. For decades, candidates of one
party or another, of the rich & white-regardless of their individual color-have promised a
solution or hope if we “behave” and if the privileged ones go out and vote they can sit and
wait for the “changes.” It is time to say, Enough! to the deceived ones and understand that
the real changes are created from below-from the grassroots.
This is why the Raza Rights Coalition at the beginning of the year at its annual retreat
discussed the importance of this campaign: Neither Democrats, Nor Republicans – Only an
Organized People’s Power will Overcome! We cannot keep looking for a savior amongst the
rich. We cannot negotiate our dignity. We cannot wait until the “good will” of the “good
citizens” comes upon us and that a miracle will happen through the vote will save us from
deportations and daily infringements. If we want real changes, if we want to be able to look
into the eyes of our children and create a better tomorrow for everyone, we must be honest
and understand that the time to struggle has come. The need to give our free time up and join
an organized process is now. To be able to create the changes that are necessary, it will need
to happen from below-from the bases.
The solution is not amongst the politicians that seek a position and who will in the meantime
forget about their promises. It will not be the rich in power who break the chains of
oppression-the solution is in our own people and communities. In this campaign, we can
all participate, and we should all participate, regardless of immigration status. We will not

THE LAST PLACE ALONG THE CALIFORNIA – MEXICO BORDER FOR FAMILIES TO GATHER PEACEFULLY IN SPITE OF THE UNJUST BORDER WALL
In 2005 Congress passed the REAL ID Act (Repeal and Identification Security Enhancement Act) as an attachment to the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Defense, the Global
War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief, 2005. This law provided the
Department of Homeland Security Secretary the authorization at
his sole discretion the privilege to waive all laws to erect physical
barriers all along U.S. borders.
Meritorious lawsuits by environmental groups were discarded
as swiftly as the REAL ID was signed into law. In June 2008,
the Supreme Court refused to hear a case from environmental
groups in Arizona challenging the constitutionality of the waiver
authority.
In San Diego, the law provided for the building of a triple fence
across 14 miles of the Border between San Diego and Tijuana.

Friendship Park, where the international US-Mexico boundary
meets the Pacific Ocean, has now seen a drastic change with entire ecological and geographical transformations as a result of the
building of walls and fences. This is a region and a park where
friends and families from San Diego and Tijuana have gathered
for generations as an historic meeting place. It has been the only
place left along the California border where people from either
side of the border can peacefully gather and physically see and
touch each other through the gruesome metal fencing. Unfortunately, Friendship Park is under imminent threat of undergoing
serious changes.

En la actualidad, la Patrulla Fronteriza amenaza esta antigua tradición al cuestionar y amedrentar a quienes visitan el iconográfico lugar donde mar y muro se encuentran. Ahí, el
pasado 5 de agosto, fui detenido por agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza mientras me encontraba grabando en video imágenes de maquinaria pesada operando muy cerca del parque y
que tienen la intención de construir por lo menos un muro más en
la zona de Playas de Tijuana. Fui liberado sin que se me presentara
cargo alguno.

or generations, friends and families from San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico, have gathered peacefully in Friendship Park at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Now Border Patrol agents threaten this tradition by questioning and detaining people who visit this special public space. On Aug. 5, I was detained and then arrested while filming there. Later
that night, I was released with no charges filed against me.
I was detained for visiting a park where north meets south and
the Pacific crashes against the land, a park that I have visited all
of my life. I was detained and arrested for bearing witness to
the ongoing destruction of that park as a triple fence is installed
that will cleave apart the last place where families can still come
together and see each other through the wall.

organizations based in Miami have engaged
in countless terrorist activities against Cuba,
and against anyone who advocates a normalization of relations between the U.S. and
Cuba. More than 3,000 Cubans have died as
a result of these terrorists’ attacks.
Terrorist Miami groups like Comandos F4
and Brothers to the Rescue operate with
complete impunity from within the United
States to attack Cuba—with the knowledge
and support of the FBI and CIA.
The Five were falsely accused by the U.S.
government of committing espionage conspiracy against the United States, and other
related charges.
Therefore, Cuba made the careful and necessary decision to send the Five Cubans to
Miami to monitor the terrorists. The Cuban
Five infiltrated the terrorist organizations in
Miami to inform Cuba of imminent attacks.
But the Five pointed out vigorously in their
defense that they were involved in monitoring the actions of Miami-based terrorist
groups, in order to prevent terrorist attacks
on their country of Cuba.
The aim of such a clandestine operation by
the Cuban Five—at great personal risk—was
to prevent criminal acts, and thus protect the
lives of Cubans and other people.
The Five’s actions were never directed at the
U.S. government. They never harmed anyone nor ever possessed nor used any weapons while in the United States.

witchhunt atmosphere existed. Defense attorneys’ motions for a change of venue were
denied five times by the judge, although it
was obvious that a fair trial was impossible
in that city.
In a blow to justice, the Cuban Five were
convicted June 8, 2001 and sentenced to four
life terms and 75 years in December, 2001.
This case is a political case and the Cuban
Five are political prisoners.
Their freedom will depend not only on the
arduous work of the defense team but just as
importantly on the public support that can be
organized. Over 250 committees have been
established in the United States and around
the world, demanding immediate freedom
for Gerardo, Ramón, Antonio, Fernando and
René.
But instead of arresting the terrorists, the FBI
arrested the Cuban Five ANTI-terrorists on
September 12, 1998. The Five were illegally
held in [solitary] confinement for 17 months
in Miami jail.
Important declarations have been made by
hundreds of parliamentarians in Britain, Italy,
and the European and Latin American Parliaments. The UN Working Group on Arbitrary
Detentions, with five judges, ruled that there
were irregularities in the Five’s trial and arrest, effectively denying them a fair trial and
calls on the U.S. government to remedy this
injustice.

uando el 9 de agosto de 2005, el Panel de 3 jueces de la Corte de Apelaciones de
Atlanta, determinó unánimemente revocar las condenas y ordenar un nuevo juicio
para los Cinco Antiterroristas cubanos presos en cárceles de Estados Unidos, al
considerar que Miami no era una sede aceptable para juzgarlos, parecía que al fin el
sistema judicial norteamericano haría justicia
en este largo proceso lleno de arbitrariedades
y manipulación.

hen on 9 August 2005, a panel of three judges of the Atlanta Court of
Appeal unanimously ruled to revoke the sentences and order a new trial of
The Five Cuban anti-terrorists jailed in the United States, on the grounds
that Miami was not an acceptable trial venue, it seemed that at last the American
legal system was going to do justice, in this
lengthy process full of arbitrary measures
and manipulation.
Un año después el Pleno de la Corte, en
inédito veredicto en la historia judicial
norteamericana, falló en contra del dictamen
de sus tres jueces, validó el juicio celebrado
en Miami y remitió de nuevo el caso al
Panel para considerar el resto de los asuntos
impugnados por la defensa.
A year later, the Court en banc handed
down a decision without precedent in
American legal history, finding against the
ruling of its three judges, legitimizing the
Miami trial and again referring the case
back to the Panel for consideration of the
other matters challenged by the defense.
Luego de 22 meses de espera, el pasado 4 de
junio, el Panel de tres jueces, rechazó casi
todos los argumentos de apelación alegando
que los mismos “carecían de mérito” y ratificó
los veredictos de culpabilidad de los Cinco
antiterroristas cubanos y dos sentencias,
las de René González (15 años) y Gerardo
Hernández (dos cadenas perpetuas, más 15
años).
On 4 June this year, after a 22-month wait,
the Panel of three judges rejected almost
all the appeal arguments, describing them
as “lacking in merit”, and confirmed
the guilty verdicts passed on The Five
Cuban anti-terrorists, as well as two of the
sentences - those of René González (15
years) and Gerardo Hernández (two life
sentences plus 15 years).
Asimismo, anuló tres de las sentencias: Ramón Labañino (cadena perpetua más 18
años), Antonio Guerrero (cadena perpetua más 10 años) y Fernando González (19 años)
enviándolas a la Corte de Miami para que sean revisadas por la misma jueza, Joan
Lenard, que impuso las desmesuradas penas que ahora la Corte superior declara
contrarias a la ley. Al indicar errores en las sentencias del cargo de “conspiración
para cometer espionaje” los jueces reconocieron, después de 10 años, lo que el propio
Gobierno al inicio del proceso había reconocido a través de su Secretaría de Defensa:
que no había nada en la información obtenida por los Cinco que tuviera carácter
secreto ni afectara la seguridad nacional de Estados Unidos.
It also revoked three of the sentences: those of Ramón Labañino (life imprisonment
plus 18 years), Antonio Guerrero (life imprisonment plus 10 years) and Fernando
González (19 years), referring these back to the Miami Court for review by the same
judge, Joan Lenard, who imposed extreme penalties now declared contrary to
law by the superior Court. In identifying errors in the sentences for ‘conspiracy
to commit espionage’, the judges agreed, ten years on, with the view expressed
by government itself in the person of the Secretary of Defense at the start of the
trial: that none of the information gathered by The Five was secret or prejudicial
to the interests of US national security.
La decisión 2-1 de ratificar la condena a Gerardo Hernández
por el cargo de “conspiración para cometer asesinato” ignora
lo confesado por la Fiscalía durante el juicio y ante la Corte
de Apelaciones al admitir que no había podido demostrar
ese cargo y que “a la luz de las pruebas presentadas” ello
constituía un “obstáculo insuperable” que debería conducir
al fracaso de la acusación. La jueza Kravitch en opinión
discrepante se opuso en el Panel a la ratificación de este
cargo considerando que el Gobierno no había presentado
evidencia alguna para fundar su acusación.
The 2-1 decision to confirm the sentence on Gerardo for
‘conspiracy to commit murder’ ignores the admission
of the Prosecution at the trial and during the Appeal
Court hearing that this charge had not been demonstrated
and that “In the light of the evidence presented” this
constituted an “insurmountable obstacle” which would
“probably result in the failure of this indictment”. The
dissenting opinion of Judge Kravitch in the Panel was
that the government had adduced no evidence to support
the charge and that the sentence should not be confirmed.
La decisión de 99 páginas fue redactada, por el juez, William
Pryor, designado por la Corte para formar parte del Panel en el
2007, quien con un lenguaje plagado de prejuicios anti-cubanos
favorece explícitamente la posición del Gobierno e incluso cambia
hechos mencionados por ese mismo Panel en su decisión anterior a
favor de los acusados y manipula otros que forman parte del expediente
del caso.
The 99-page decision was drawn up by Judge William
Pryor, appointed by the Court to the Panel in 2007. Using
language tainted with anti-Cuba prejudice, it explicitly
takes the government’s side, even changes facts mentioned by
the same Panel in favor of the defendants in its earlier decision
and manipulates other facts forming part of the case file.
El nombramiento de Pryor como Juez Federal por el Presidente Bush fue altamente
controversial por sus posiciones de ultraderecha y generó denuncias en importantes
círculos políticos y de la opinión pública norteamericana, que afirmaron que sus criterios
legales extremos y equivocados harían que el nivel federal de justicia tuviera menos
habilidad para proteger los derechos constitucionales. Este juez, fue confirmado en
el cargo por el Senado con el voto en contra de 45 legisladores, mediante un arreglo
negociado por el hoy candidato presidencial republicano, John McCain.
Llama la atención que esta decisión se da a conocer en el contexto del actual proceso
eleccionario norteamericano, y en momentos en que el gobierno de Estados Unidos
intensifica sus maniobras para dar permanente protección, negándose a extraditarlo a
Venezuela, al connotado y confeso terrorista Luis Posada Carriles, fugado de una cárcel
venezolana, cuando era juzgado por la destrucción en pleno vuelo de un avión civil cubano
con 73 personas a bordo, violando así convenios internacionales contra el terrorismo.
Nuestros Cinco patriotas próximos a cumplir 10 largos años de injusto y cruel
encarcelamiento, sometidos a inhumanos castigos, privados de las visitas regulares de
sus familiares, y dos de ellos sin ninguna visita de sus esposas, sólo guardan prisión por
ser cubanos que luchaban contra los grupos terroristas asentados en el sur de la Florida
con la protección de las autoridades norteamericanas.
La Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular, haciendo suya la justa indignación de todo el
pueblo cubano y de los familiares de nuestros Cinco compañeros, condena esta absurda
decisión y la continua manipulación de que es objeto este arbitrario proceso. En ese sentido
saluda y respalda la Declaración y los acuerdos adoptados en el Encuentro Parlamentario
Latinoamericano-caribeño realizado en Panamá el 7 y 8 de julio de 2008 y llama a los
parlamentos de todo el mundo a sumarse a esta iniciativa y a emprender otras acciones
hasta alcanzar la liberación de nuestros cinco compatriotas.
President Bush’s appointment of Pryor as a federal judge was highly controversial,
given the latter’s ultra right-wing attitudes. It provoked condemnation in important
sections of American political life and public opinion, alarmed by the appointee’s
extreme and mistaken legal views, which threatened to undermine the ability of the
federal justice system to defend rights under the Constitution. His appointment was
endorsed by the Senate with 45 senators voting ‘no’, under an arrangement negotiated
by the now Republican presidential candidate, John McCain.
It is notable that this decision was announced during the presidential election
campaign, and at a time when Washington, in breach of international anti-terrorism
conventions, is intensifying maneuvers designed to afford permanent protection
(including denying his extradition to Venezuela) of the known, self-confessed
terrorist Luis Posada Carriles - an escapee from a Venezuelan prison, who was tried
for the destruction in flight of a Cuban civil aircraft with 73 people on board.
Our five patriots have now served nearly 10 long years of cruel and unjust
imprisonment, subjected to inhuman punishments, deprived of regular family visits
and in two cases of any visit by their wives. They are imprisoned merely for being
Cubans who struggled against the terrorist groups based in the south of Florida under
the protection of the US authorities.
The National Assembly of the People’s Power, identifying with the justified outrage
of the entire Cuban people and the families of our Five comrades, condemns this
absurd decision and the constant manipulation marking this arbitrary process. In this
context, it welcomes and supports the Declaration and agreements adopted by the
meeting of parliamentarians from 15 Latin American countries and the Caribbean,
held in Panama on 7 and 8 July 2008, and calls upon parliaments the world over to join
this initiative and take further steps to securing the release of our five compatriots

La existencia de la Coalición Pro-Derechos de La Raza se basa
en los derechos fundamentales de nuestro pueblo por alcanzar
la justicia, la igualdad y una existencia libre del racismo, de la
explotación, del sexismo y de la ignorancia. Buscamos una vida
digna donde la represión, la inseguridad y la brutalidad de la
policía y de la migra sean cosas del pasado. Este es el futuro que
