Dear KIPP Camino Parent/Guardian,
As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to update you on our end of the year (EOY) trips. These trips will be
multi-day educational excursions to destinations outside of San Antonio that provide students with opportunities to grow as
leaders within KIPP Camino and the community. The end of year trip is the last trip of the year and it is an overnight trip that
both students and teachers attend.
Students will have the opportunity to earn the privilege of attending the end of year trip if they meet certain criteria. All
students earn field trips by meeting the required paycheck goal. This year in order for students to earn field lessons they need
to meet certain points on liveschool, which will automatically earn them a spot on the field trip. In order for a student to get
th
invited to the field lesson they need to have a total of 1,800 pts in liveschool by April 29 , 2016. In addition, students must also
make satisfactory academic progress and have no discipline referrals regarding their integrity or character. For seventh and
eighth grade students, suspension, and quarterly grades will be used for determining eligibility EOY trips. All students must have
good attendance in order to earn the trips. The school reserves the right to remove a student from a trip or prohibit them from
going for any reason that jeopardizes the physical or emotional well-being of themselves or others. The school will discuss with
families in more detail as trip season approaches.
At KIPP San Antonio, we work hard to provide exceptional opportunities, services and support for your child to climb the
mountain to and through college. Many of these activities and programs provided are “above and beyond” what a traditional
public school offers. We respectfully ask you, as part of our Team and Family, to submit payment for the additional services,
which help pay for the great KIPP education your child, receives.
The public funding that KIPP San Antonio receives does not fully fund our schools, much less the additional enrichment
opportunities we provide our students. Each year, KIPP San Antonio asks foundations, businesses and individuals in the
community for grants and contributions. Your contribution through the student Above and Beyond Fee is very meaningful,
necessary and much appreciated. We will began accepting partial payments and setting up payment plans as of February 1,
2016. All EOY payments will only be accepted by Ms. Perla Salazar, if you come to the front office please ask for her.
Above and Beyond Fee for 2015-2016 :
$120 per child
$240 maximum per family, 2+ children
All payments need to be paid off by May 1, 2016 and can be made in payments or in the full amount.
Cash and checks are accepted; please make checks payable to KIPP: San Antonio with Memo: Camino Student Name
Parents, please remember that the total amount needs to be paid off in order for your student to attend the end of the year

A medida que nos acercamos al final del año escolar, nos gustaría informarle sobre nuestros viajes de fin de año. Estos viajes
serán excursiones educativas de varios días a destinos fuera de San Antonio que ofrecen a los estudiantes la oportunidad de
crecer como líderes dentro de KIPP Camino y la comunidad. El viaje de fin de año es el último viaje del año y es un viaje de
noche que tanto estudiantes como maestros asisten.
Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de ganar el privilegio de asistir al viaje de fin de año si cumplen con ciertos criterios.
Este año, para que los estudiantes gane el viaje de fin de año necesitan cumplir con ciertos puntos en liveschool, estudiantes
automáticamente califican un lugar en el viaje con tener 1,800 puntos en liveschool para el 29 de abril del 2016. Además, los
estudiantes también deben tener un progreso académico satisfactorio y no tener los problemas de disciplina en cuanto a su
integridad o carácter. Para los estudiantes de séptimo y octavo grado, suspensión y calificaciones de cada semestre serán
utilizadas para determinar elegibilidad. Todos los estudiantes deben tener una buena asistencia con el fin de ganar los viajes.
Además, la escuela tiene derecho a retirar a un estudiante de un viaje o prohibirles ir por cualquier razón que pusiera en peligro
el bienestar físico o emocional de sí mismos o de otros. La escuela hablará con las familias con más detalle según se acerca le
viaje.
En KIPP San Antonio, trabajamos duro para ofrecerles oportunidades excepcionales, los servicios y el apoyo a su hijo a subir a la
montaña hacía y a través de la universidad. Muchas de estas actividades y programas previstos van "más allá de" lo que una
escuela pública tradicional ofrece. Le pedimos respetuosamente, como parte de nuestro equipo y de la familia, cubrir los
gastos por los servicios adicionales que ayudan a pagar la gran educación que su hijo recibe en KIPP.
Los fondos monetarios del estado que KIPP San Antonio recibe no cubren completamente los gastos de nuestras escuelas, y
mucho menos las oportunidades de enriquecimiento adicionales que proporcionamos a nuestros estudiantes. Cada año, la
escuela KIPP San Antonio pide donaciones a fundaciones, empresas e individuos en la comunidad para subvencionar y
contribuir a nuestras finanzas. Su contribución a través de su pago es muy significativa, necesaria y muy agradecida. Vamos a
