Dear Middle School Parents,
We are pleased to invite you to our Middle School Parent / Teacher /Student
Conference Day to be held on Friday, October 18. The conferences will allow you
the opportunity to meet with teachers and discuss your child's progress. You will
also be able to pick up your child's first bimester report card. Middle School
Students will not have classes on this day in order to provide us with the
opportunity to meet with you. However, we strongly encourage you to bring your
middle school children to the conferences, as we believe that having the teachers,
students, and parents together will improve the effectiveness of the communication
that takes place on this day. Students may earn extra Work Habits points for
conference attendance.
The conferences will be held in the auditorium and in selected middle school
classrooms near the auditorium from 8:00 – 12:00 PM. Upon arrival, go to the
auditorium and pick up your child's report card and MAP scores. You will have the
opportunity to speak with any Middle School teacher you want on a first come, first
serve basis. All fifth grade, sixth grade, and activity teachers will be in the
auditorium while the seventh and eighth grade teachers will be in their grade level
classrooms.
Please arrive before 10:00 AM to allow enough time to meet with the
teachers before 12:00 PM. In the past, some parents have been unable to meet
with all their child's teachers because they arrived too late. The teachers will be
instructed to leave the auditorium shortly after 12:00 PM, as they will be having
more meetings with parents in the afternoon. As a courtesy to the other parents
attending the conferences, we ask that you keep your meetings with each individual
teacher to no more than five minutes. If you feel that you would like more time to
meet with the teachers, feel free to schedule an appointment for another day. You
will also have the opportunity to purchase your child's school photos during the
conferences.

Educational research clearly shows that parental involvement in a child's education
positively impacts student performance. In order for a child to be successful in
school, parents, teachers, and students need to work together and maintain open
communication. We look forward to seeing you with your middle school children on
Friday, October 18.

Estimados padres de familia de la Escuela Media:
Por este medio, les invitamos a las conferencias de Maestros/Alumnos/Padres de
Familia próximas a llevarse a cabo el viernes 18 de octubre. Estas conferencias le darán
la oportunidad de reunirse con los maestros de sus hijos y conversar con ellos acerca
de su progreso; de igual manera podrán recoger las calificaciones correspondientes al
primer bimestre. Para efecto de poder reunirnos con ustedes, los alumnos de nuestra
sección no tendrán clases. Sin embargo, sugerimos que traiga a su hijo a las
conferencias, pues creemos que esto mejorará la comunicación entre padres de familiamaestros-alumnos. Los alumnos podrán obtener puntos de "Work Habits" por asistir a
las conferencias.
Las conferencias se llevarán a cabo de 8:00 a.m. a 12:00 p.m. en el auditorio y algunos
salones a un costado del mismo. Al llegar, favor de dirigirse al auditorio y recoger la
boleta de calificaciones de su hijo, y los resultados de los exámenes MAP. Durante este
periodo podrá hablar con cualquier maestro de la escuela media; serán atendidos según
vayan llegando. Los maestros de 5º Y 6º grado, junto con los maestros de actividades,
se encontrarán en el auditorio. Los maestros de 7º y 8º grado se entrevistarán con los
padres de familia en sus salones.
Les pedimos que lleguen antes de las 10:00 a.m. para que tengan suficiente
tiempo para entrevistarse con los maestros ya que ellos se retirarán a las
12:00 p.m. En ocasiones anteriores algunos padres no han podido dialogar con ellos
por haber llegado tarde. Los maestros se retirarán a las 12:00 p.m. ya que se reunirán
con más padres de familia al mediodía. Con el fin de respetar que todos tengan
oportunidad de hablar con los maestros, les agradeceremos que sus citas individuales
no sean de más de cinco minutos. En caso de necesitar más tiempo, les sugerimos
pasar a la oficina y concertar una cita. También tendrán la oportunidad de comprar las
fotos de sus hijos durante las conferencias.
Creemos firmemente que el papel que desempeñan los padres de familia en la
educación de sus hijos es crucial. Para que su hijo pueda desempeñarse exitosamente
en el colegio, padres y maestros necesitan trabajar juntos y mantener comunicación.
