Group Dynamics Translator
Volunteers are needed to serve as translators for individuals in our New Routes for
Adults Program who have been court mandated to attend Group Dynamics traffic
safety education classes. Group Dynamics is a course for drivers who are
convicted of operating while intoxicated. The group meets once a week for 6
consecutive weeks from 5:00pm-9:00pm at Madison College downtown.
Participants often have minimal English abilities and must rely heavily on a
personal translator to successfully complete the course. Volunteers are accepted as
needed. Time requirement for volunteers is the full length of the Group Dynamic
course, generally 6 weeks.
Responsibilities:
• Represent Centro Hispano of Dane County to the best of your ability by
interacting with New Routes participants and Group Dynamics staff,
personnel, and students in a professional manner
• Translate course work as needed
Qualifications:
• High level of fluency in Spanish and English
• Excellent communication skills
• First-hand experience with Latino culture

with clients.
The volunteer must provide clients with accurate and complete information with respect to the
scope and nature of the services available to them.
The volunteer must promote and respect the dignity and value of each client.
The volunteer must respect the privacy of the clients and keep confidential all information
obtained through out course of professional services.
The volunteer must avoid preferential treatment to students or the appearance of preferential
treatment to clients.
