The Langue of Aragon
This section of the archives contains the names of the members of the Langue of Aragon,
Catalonia, and Navarre, the dignities and encomiendas assigned to them, the dates they held
them, and the amount of responsions they paid. In addition, there is a collection of records for the
Confraternity (or Cofradia) of St. George, Zaragoza. This section of the archives used to contain
AOM 2190, a 14th-century account book recording the amounts the receivers in Avignon
received from the Langue of Spain, but this volume has been reassigned to the first section of the
archives where it was given the number AOM 48A. The microfilm of AOM 48A, however, is on
the reel Malta Series II, 2190-2196. Dates: 16th century -1797.

Records pertaining to the Confraternity of St. George, Zaragoza, in Aragon. The confraternity of
San Jorge was a confraternity of jousters (justadores). The Ordenanzas of the confraternity, dated
12 December 1457 (ACA Cancillería, Reg. 3315, fols. 194v-198v) are published in María Isabel
Falcón Pérez, Ordenanzas y otros documentos complementarios relativos a las Corporaciones
de oficio en el reino de Aragón en la Edad Media, Fuentes Históricas Aragonesas 28 (Zaragoza,
1997).
