PARENT COMPACT Burges High School Home of the Mustangs Families and schools must work together to help students achieve high academic standards. Through a process that included teachers, families, students and community representatives, the following are agreed upon roles and responsibilities that we as partners will carry out to support student success in school and in life. Staff Pledge I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability: • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment. • Teach classes with an interesting and challenging curriculum that promotes student achievement. • Motivate my students to learn. • Set high expectations and help every student be successful in meeting the Texas Educational Knowledge and Skills (TEK) standards. • Communicate frequently and meet annually with families about student progress and the school-parent compact. • Provide opportunities for parents to volunteer, participate, and observe in my classroom. Participate in professional development opportunities that improve teaching and learning and support the formation of partnerships with families and the community. • Actively participate in collaborative decision making with parents and school colleagues to make our school accessible and welcoming for families. • Respect the school, students, staff and families. Student Pledge I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability: • Come to school ready to learn and work hard. • Bring necessary materials, completed assignments and homework. • Know and follow school and class rules. • Communicate regularly with my parents and teachers about school experiences so that they can help me to be successful in school. • Limit my T.V. watching, video game playing and internet usage. • Study or read everyday after school. • Respect the school, classmates, staff and families. Acontinuacion, damos las síguintes funciones y responsabilidades que nosotros como socios, llevaremaos a cabo, para apoyar el éxito del estudiante en la escuela y en la vida. Compromíso de los Maestros Estoy acuerdo en llevar a cabo las siguientes responsabilidades para lo mejor de mi capacidad: • Porporcionar un ambiente seguro y de apoyo al aprendizaje. • Tener un currícu interesante y que estimule para promover que el estudiante alcance a lograr sus metas y objetivos. • Motivar 100% al estudiante aprender. • Establecer altas expectativas y ayudar a cada estudiante a tener éxito en el cumplimiento de las normas de Tejas Para El Conosimiento de La Educación, y sus Avilidades.(TEKS) • Comunicarse con frecuencia y de reunirse anualmente con las familias sobre el progreso del estudinate y el Convenio de Padres. • Proporcionar oportunidades a los padres para que puedan ser voluntarios, y puden observer y partisipar en las oportunidades de desarrollo profecional. Que mejoran la enseñanza y las tecnicas de aprendisaje que ayudan a la formación de scociadades con la familia y la comunidad. • Partisipar activamente en las decisiones con los Padres y dosentes de la escuela para que nuestra escuela pueda ser accesible y acojedora para nuestras familías. • Respetarnos todos mutuamente tanto como familias, maestros, alumnos, y personal. Compromíso del Estudiante: Estoy acuerdo en llevar a cabo las siguientes responsabilidades para lo mejor de mi capacidad: • Venir a la escuela listo para aprender y trabajar. • Venir a la esuela con los materials necesarios, y las tareas terminadas. • Conocer y seguir las reglas escolares. • Comunicarme regularmente con mis padres y maestros sobre las experencias de la escuela para que me puedan ayudar tener exito en la escuela. • Limitar y tener mi horario para ver television, jugar mis video juegos, y reducír el uso de la internet. • Respetarnos todos mutuamente tanto como familias, maestros, alumnos, y personal.
