 La Complutense está entre las 100 mejores universidades del mundo en 9 ámbitos de estudios según el ranking QS 22 de marzo de 2016. Hoy se ha hecho pública la sexta edición del ranking QS de Universidades por estudios (ww.topuniversities.com). La Complutense ha sido puntuada en 39 de los 42 ámbitos de estudio que se analizan en este ranking, y todos los estudios Complutense analizados están situados en el tercio superior de los estudios mundiales. Los estudios de Odontología y Veterinaria de la Complutense figuran entre los 50 mejores del mundo en sus ámbitos de especialidad, ocupando las posiciones 33 y 43 respectivamente. También destacan entre los 100 mejores del mundo los estudios UCM de Arqueología, Historia, Lenguas Modernas, Filosofía, Antropología, Comunicación y Derecho. Entre las universidades españolas, La Complutense es la primera en los estudios de Lengua y Literatura Inglesa, Historia, Lenguas Modernas, Odontología, Derecho y Estudios de Política Internacional. En este ranking, se evalúan un total de 4226 universidades, analizando 15.530 programas de estudios, si bien sólo se han clasificado un total de 945 instituciones de educación superior, entre las cuales se encuentra la UCM. Para realizar esta clasificación se utiliza información sobre reputación académica y reputación sobre empleabilidad así como indicadores de productividad e impacto científico de las publicaciones de la UCM.
