Cell Phone Policy
I.
Possession of Telecommunication Devices
Students may carry cellular phones as long as they adhere to the following rules:
1) Cell phones must be turned off and out of sight during the instructional day.
2) The instructional day includes class time, class changes, and all after school instructional
activities.
3) Cell phones may only be used before and after school and during lunch break.
II.
Disciplinary Actions
1st Offense – The cell phone will be confiscated, parent/guardian will be notified, and a
$5.00 fee is paid.
2nd Offense – The cell phone will be confiscated, parent/guardian will be notified, and a
$15.00 fee will be assessed. The phone will be returned only to the parent after the $15.00
fee is paid.
3rd Offense – The cell phone will be confiscated and parent/guardian will be notified. The phone
will be returned on the last day of the school year after a subsequent $15.00 fee is paid.
III.
Disciplinary Action
Students who refuse to surrender a cell phone to a school official will be subject to disciplinary
action.
IV. State Testing
Any use of cellular phones during State Testing could result in the invalidation of the student’s
test scores. The campus administration will investigate all reports of inappropriate use of these
devices prior to taking any action regarding student test scores.
V.
Responsibility
Students shall be personally and solely responsible for the security of their cell phones. SBCISD
shall not assume responsibility for theft, loss, or damage of a cell phone, or any unauthorized
calls made on a cell phone.

El teléfono será devuelto sólo a los padres después de que pague la cuota de $15.00 . 3ra Ofensa -­‐ El teléfono celular será confiscado y el padre / tutor será notificado. El teléfono se devolverá el último día del año escolar después de una cuota de $15.00 se paga. III. Acción Disciplinaria Los estudiantes que se nieguen a entregar un teléfono celular a un funcionario de la escuela estarán sujetos a medidas disciplinarias. Cualquier uso de teléfonos celulares durante las Pruebas del Estado podría dar lugar a la invalidación de resultados de los exámenes de los estudiantes. La administración de la escuela investigará todas las denuncias de uso inadecuado de estos dispositivos antes de tomar cualquier acción con respecto a calificaciones de los estudiantes. IV. Exámenes del Estado V. Responsabilidad Los estudiantes serán personalmente responsables por la seguridad de sus teléfonos celulares. SBCISD no se hará cargo de robo, pérdida o daño de un teléfono celular, o cualquier llamadas no autorizadas hechas en un teléfono celular.
