North American Hardcourt Ruleset Translation in Spanish and French for 2013 Based on Ruleset V3.3 With revisions and comments. North American Hardcourt Ruleset Translation in Spanish and French • for 2013 • Based on Ruleset V3.3 Nota Bene : The first section format was rectified by Jason Breton to match the global format. This is not an official NAH document (yet). This is not the final version yet, changes might happen. This document is not an internationnal ruleset, it’s just the translation of the North Amrican Ruleset. Any country/continent has to have its own official ruleset. My philosophy: This translatation try to be the exact translation of the original document, but with the specificities of each languages. And I want to use the vocabulary that should be used in each language. Right, I am trying to avoid english words (which are often used to speak about something, but doesn’t make sens for a normal person). And, this is one of the first try to completly say all of the english specific words in french and spanish. So any ruleset can use the same names in the own language. I hope this document would be reused to write official European Championship rules (in different languages), as they don’t really change from what Europe used before, they are just way more specific about referees and everything is ordered well. The best thing for me is that we use exactly the same structure even if we want to change the content. Hope that this will inspire others in different countries to do the same and translate (I will try to have it in German and Italian through my friends), and why not to start playing with the (nearly) same rules in the world (which we are close to do). I’ll add an annex to put the intersting discussed rules and stuff related, wich are strictly not ralated with NAH original document. What has to be done : An internationnal comittee with 2 or 3 language speaking people (with at least good English in common) elected/selected by the players in the world or by the continental comitties themselves. To do that, african, south american, european, asian and oceanian countries has to get representative people elected in each countries as well as a continent comittee. As far as i know, North America and France has their own comittees : NAH (North American Hardcourt) and BPF (Bike Polo France), but obviously France can’t represent Europe and as long as other european countries doesn’t have their elected representant, the harmonization project will not work and people will be leaded by the biggest and most organised commitie yet (NAH) (I know that we’re not at the mercy of the NAH, but we’ll be guided and influenced by them). Credits : North American Hardcourt for clearly writting (again) your rules down. Gersom Rodrigez (Santiago, Chile) for translating the global rules in spanish. And me, Jason Breton (Grenoble, France) for putting everything in common to get everyone in the same “unofficial yet” translation and for translating the global rules in french.
