perdón y de la misericordia. Por tanto, pongámonos
de pie en la oración, y levantemos nuestras cabezas
en nuestra dignidad de hijos de Dios y con esperanza,
esperemos por la llegada de la fuente de la vida, de la
verdad y de la justicia, el Señor Jesús, el Cristo, para
que al final todos nosotros podamos gritar, Cristo ha
nacido 'en nosotros' y 'para nosotros'.
PRIMER DOMINGO DE ADVIENTO
PRIMERA LECTURA: Jr. 33, 14-16
“Yo haré nacer del tronco de David un vástago santo”.

“Descúbrenos, Señor, tus caminos”.
SEGUNDA LECTURA: 1 Tes. 3, 12-4, 2
“Que el Señor los fortalezca hasta que Jesús vuelva”.

REFLEXIÓN
Hemos entrado en el primer Domingo de Adviento.
Este es el momento en el que la Iglesia nos invita a
prepararnos fuertemente a nosotros mismos para un
evento que está por venir. De hecho, la palabra
Adviento viene de la palabra latina Adventus que
significa "la llegada, la venida". Es un tiempo para
nosotros los Cristianos de mantenernos despiertos y
alerta, dejando que nuestros corazones estén abiertos
y listos para recibir al Salvador, Nuestro Señor
Jesucristo, que viene a liberarnos de la vida corrupta
del pecado. Como el Apóstol dice en otra parte "el
momento ha llegado para que dejéis de dormir y
despertaros, porque ahora nuestra salvación está
más cerca que cuando empezamos a creer" (Rm
13:11). Es cierto que las lecturas, especialmente el
Evangelio, pueden crear una especie de miedo en
nosotros, pero como el mismo Cristo dice: "Cuando
estas cosas comiencen a suceder, poned atención y
levantad vuestra cabeza alta, porque ya se acerca
vuestra liberación "(Lc 21:28). El punto principal
aquí hermanos es para alegrarse, ¿y por qué? Porque
si hoy realmente nos vemos atrapados en el miedo, en
el sufrimiento, o tal vez en la desesperación, aquí Él
viene, el Uno, el Único que puede liberarnos de todo
lo que hoy nos hace ser personas sin esperanza.
Cristo viene para liberarnos, para darnos una nueva
naturaleza, su naturaleza, que es la del amor, del
1st Sunday of Advent
Reflection
We have entered in the first Sunday of Advent. This
is the time in which the Church invites us to strongly
prepare ourselves for an event that is to come. In fact,
the word Advent comes from the Latin word
Adventus which means “the arrival, the coming”. It
is a time for us Christians to be awake and watchful,
letting our hearts be open and ready to welcome the
Saviour, Our Lord Jesus Christ who comes to free us
from the corrupted life of sin. As the Apostle says
elsewhere “the moment is here for you to stop
sleeping and wake up, because by now our salvation
is nearer than when we first began to believe” (Rm
13:11). It is true that the readings, especially the
Gospel, may create a sort of fear in us, but as Christ
himself says: “when these things begin to take place,
stand erect, hold your heads high, because your
liberation is near at hand” (Lk 21:28). The main point
here brothers is to rejoice, and why so? Because if
today we really see ourselves trapped into fear,
suffering, or perhaps desperation, here He comes, the
One, the only One who can free us from all that today
make us hopeless people. Christ is coming to free us,
to give us a new nature, His nature, which is the one
of love, forgiveness and mercy. Let us stand straight
then in prayer, and lift up our heads in our dignity as
children of God and hopefully await the coming of
the source of life, truth and justice, Our Lord Jesus
the Christ, so that at the end we all may shout, Christ
is born ‘in us’ and ‘for us’.
