After five circumnavigations and having sailing a great number of miles, it is
clear that for sailing and sports, Lanzarote offers the best conditions. I come

Es una prueba de larga distancia, donde el triatleta entra
en contacto con el paisaje volcánico que bordea los centros
turísticos como Jameos del agua, Cueva de los Verdes, así
como regiones espectaculares como Órzola o el Mirador
de Haría, tras serpentear las duras cuestas del pueblo de
Tabayesco y pasando por la Villa de Teguise.

Del 3 al 5 de septiembre, Puerto Calero
El Concurso de Pesca de Altura de Puerto Calero se ha
convertido en uno de los eventos decanos de este tipo en
Canarias, congregando embarcaciones de todas las islas y
convirtiéndose en cita ineludible para los amantes de este
deporte. Desde hace años, esta prueba se viene celebrando
en la modalidad de marcaje y suelta.
-The Puerto Calero Sports Fishing competition has become one of
the most established events of its kind, bringing together boats
from across the islands; a firm favourite for fishing enthusiasts.
The competition has employed a catch and release method for
the last few years.

-1.9 Km. Swim: in the saltwater lagoon outside Club La Santa,1
loop.
90.1 Km. Bike: Challenging course with the strong winds, and the
stunning climb of 550 m., the notorious Tabayesco hill climb.
21.1 Km. Run: Through the fishing village of La Santa, soaking up
the atmosphere from supporters that line the 3 loops run course,
and under an almost guaranteed sunshine!

3 de octubre, La Graciosa
El evento deportivo Travesía a Nado “El Río” nace en 1993. Desde
la primera institución de la isla se colaboró decididamente con
el Real Club Victoria para la celebración de este acontecimiento
en la isla de La Graciosa con la ilusión de unos pocos nadadores
atrevidos a cruzar a nado las islas de Lanzarote y La Graciosa. 22
años después, este evento está perfectamente consolidado en el
panorama regional y con gran orgullo en el calendario nacional de
natación en mar abierto.
-The event “EL RIO, Crossing Lanzarote –La Graciosa” started in 1993,
by the government of Lanzarote and the “Real Club Victoria” for a few
expert swimmers who should cross swimming from La Graciosa to
Lanzarote. After twenty years, this event is one of the most popular
sports events in Canarias and the top event of the national swimming
calendar in open water.

Del 1 al 31 de octubre, Marina Lanzarote, Arrecife
La clase Mini 6.50 es una verdadera escuela de navegación,
donde el regatista debe ser polivalente y autónomo, de
forma que haga avanzar su barco a pesar de las múltiples
dificultades. Los nombres más grandes de la vela
contemporánea han sido regatistas de la Transat 6.50. Esta
prueba está considerada como una de las competiciones más
duras del mundo por varios motivos: el recorrido es de más de
4.000 millas náuticas a través del Océano Atlántico y porque la
navegación se realiza en solitario, estando prohibida cualquier
ayuda externa.
-The Mini 6.50 Class is a sailing school in itself; a single-handed,
multi-tasking transatlantic adventure. Many of today’s biggest
names in sailing are members of the Mini family. This race is
known as one of the most demanding, covering over 4000 miles
in two legs where skippers are not permitted to ask for help of
any kind whilst competing.

Segunda edición del Torneo Bridgestone que en su primera
edición reunió a una gran cantidad de jugadores y que
promete sorprender en esta segunda edición.
-Second edition of the Bridgestone Tournament in Costa Teguise
Golf which in its first edition gathered a lot of players and
promises to surprise in this second edition.
La travesía comienza desde Playa Blanca, situada en el sur de
Lanzarote, hacia Corralejo, en el norte de Fuerteventura. La
distancia entre ambas islas es de 15 Km y durante el recorrido
los nadadores deben bordear la deshabitada isla de Lobos.
-This swimming cross goes from Playa Blanca, situated in the
South of Lanzarote, to Corralejo, in the North of Fuerteventura.
The distance between both islands is 15 kms. During this
competition, that is done by teams, the participants will swim
around the uninhabited island of Lobos.

Hemos creado una carrera única empezando con la competición
de natación en las aguas cristalinas de Puerto del Carmen.
Seguimos con una extraordinaria carrera en bici que te llevará por
la pintoresca zona vinícola de la isla, por duros campos de lava a lo
largo de la costa de El Golfo, subir hasta Femés (con una pendiente
de más del 21%) y pasar por el Parque Nacional del Timanfaya
antes de llegar de nuevo a Puerto del Carmen. Los competidores
acaban el día con una carrera animada por miles de espectadores
a lo largo del paseo marítimo. El evento finalizará con la fiesta de
entrega de trofeos en el Café La Ola.
-We have created a unique race course starting with the swim course
in the crystalline waters of Puerto del Carmen, an extraordinary bike
ride that takes you through the picturesque wine area, rough lava
fields, along the coast of El Golfo, the climb up to Femés (slope of
over 21%) and the Timanfaya National Park before reaching Puerto
del Carmen, where the competitors finish the day with a run cheered
up by thousands of spectators along the beach promenade. The
event ends with the prize-giving party celebrated in Café La Ola.

La Atlantic Odyssey es una regata no competitiva y de marcado
carácter familiar. Jimmy Cornell, gurú de los eventos náuticos es el
fundador de esta prueba que además colabora con la UNESCO en
el estudio de las especies marinas y los océanos mediante diversos
experimentos científicos que se llevan a cabo durante la travesía. El
evento incluye la Semana del Navegante con charlas y seminarios
sobre varios aspectos prácticos de la navegación de alta mar.
-The Atlantic Odyssey is a non-competitive rally, especially attractive
for families. Cruising guru Jimmy Cornell has founded this new event
which features ecological studies and activities for the participants,
working in conjunction with UNESCO. The event includes the Cruising
Week with fascinating talks and seminars for visiting cruisers on a
number of useful blue water topics.

Corredores de todas las edades contribuyen cada año al creciente
éxito de esta maratón que tiene salida en las inmediaciones del
Sands Beach Resort, recorriendo los paseos marítimos de Costa
Teguise, Arrecife, Playa Honda y Puerto del Carmen, para regresar
nuevamente hasta Costa Teguise donde, a los aletas les espera una
gran fiesta. Se puede participar en las modalidades de maratón
42 Km, media maratón 21 Km y carrera de 10 Km. Todo ello
acompañado de actividades paralelas como la carrera infantil, la
maratón de la tapa y música en directo.
-With runners of all ages each year contributing to the growing success
of this Marathon that starts near the Sands Beach Resort, running
along the promenades of Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Playa Honda and
Puerto del Carmen, to return back to Costa Teguise where athletes
are in for a big party. You can participate in the arrangements for the
42km Marathon, Half Marathon 21km and 10 km race. All surrounded
by numerous parallel activities such as athlete’s expo, the child race
or the race pasta party amongst others.
