The 2016-17 school year will be my last year at CEC Early College and the Denver Public Schools. After 33 years working in Denver Public Schools, it is time for me to pursue new opportunities and challenges. This spring, the district will be interviewing for a Succession Principal for CEC. The Succession Principal will be working closely with me during the next school year to learn about all the complex systems which make our school so great. As you know, unlike a traditional school, there is much involved with all our career and technical education programs, our college partnerships with the Community College of Denver and Emily Griffith Technical College, and all the preparations and agreements that go into place to allow our students to take classes for college credit. I would like to invite you to a community night in order to meet the two finalist for the Succession Principal position. Our community night will be April 14 from 7:00-8:00 pm and will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about the future principal of CEC Early College. It’s been a tremendous privilege and honor to serve as CEC’s principal over the past many years. In all my years working with Denver Public Schools CEC has been, by far, the place I feel has made the most impact on students, helping create a positive difference for our future society. CEC has the best students and staff in Denver, and I am confident the school will thrive for many years in the future. I am grateful the district is allowing me to work for an entire year with a Succession Principal. This will help provide a smooth transition and ensure the future success for our students. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me at school at any time. Finally, we’d like to hear your input about characteristics you would like to see in CEC’s new principal. El año escolar del 2016-17 será mi último año en CEC Early College y las Escuelas Públicas de Denver, es mi tiempo de seguir nuevas oportunidades y desafíos. Esta primavera, el distrito tendrá entrevistas para un Director de Sucesión. El Director de Sucesión trabajara muy junto a mi durante el próximo año escolar para aprender los sistemas complicados que construyen nuestra escuela. Como usted sabe, diferente a escuelas tradicionales, hay mucho involucrado con todos los programas de carrera y programas técnicos, nuestras asociaciones con el Colegio Comunitario de Denver y el Colegio Técnico de Emily Griffith y todas las preparaciones y acuerdos que permiten que nuestros estudiantes tomen cursos para crédito de colegio. Quisiera invitarlos a una noche de comunidad para que conozcan los dos finalistas para la posición de Director de Suscepción. Nuestra noche de comunidad será el 14 de abril de 7:00pm-8:00pm y esto será su oportunidad para hacer preguntas y aprender más del futuro director de CEC Early College.
