Der Gesichtsbogen Artist dient zur achsorientierten
Übertragung des Oberkiefermodells in den Artist
Artikulator. Da er symmetrisch öffnet, ergibt sich keine
Veränderung der sagitalen Distanz. Durch die achsorientierte Übertragung besteht die Möglichkeit die
patientenindividuelle Position des Oberkiefers schnell
und einfach in den Artist Artikulator zu übertragen.
Der Gesichtbogen Artist wurde auf Artist Artikulatoren
abgestimmt. Für eine Kompatibilität mit anderen
Artikulator-Systemen wird keine Gewährleistung
übernommen.
ANWENDUNG DES GESICHTSBOGENS
(ACHSRELATIONSBESTIMMUNG)
Als erstes erfolgt die Bissnahme mittels Bissgabel.
Hierzu wird Bissnahmematerial (Bissnahmewachs
oder Spezialsilikonpaste) dreipunktförmig auf die
Bissgabel aufgebracht und am Oberkiefer des
Patienten platziert.
Der Gesichtsbogen Artist kann durch die symmetrische
Funktion schnell und problemlos im Gehörgang angelegt werden. Die Fixierung des Bogens im Gesicht erfolgt über den Nasensteg (Bild A).
Anhand der Impressionen der Oberkiefer-Zahnreihe
wird die Bissgabel im Oberkiefer platziert. Zum Unterkiefer hin erfolgt die Abstützung mittels zweier
Watterollen. Anschließend schraubt man den Support
in der dafür vorgesehenen Aufnahme am Gesichtsbogen fest (Bild B). Dabei sollte sich die Fixierschraube
am Support auf der rechten Seite befinden. Jetzt
werden Bissgabel und Support über die dafür vorgesehene Aufnahme miteinander verbunden. Es ist zu
beachten, dass die Bissgabelaufnahme des Supports
bis zum Anschlag auf die Bissgabel gesteckt und mit
der Klemmschraube fixiert wird (Bild C). Abschließend
wird die Klemmschraube am Support zugedreht (Bild D).

Nach dem Öffnen der Nasensteg-Fixierung kann der
Gesichtsbogen geöffnet und abgenommen werden
(Bild A).
ÜBERTRAGUNG DER ACHSRELATION IN
DEN ARTIST ARTIKULATOR
Zur Übertragung der gewonnenen Information gibt
es 2 Möglichkeiten:
(1) Indirekte Übertragung.
Die indirekte Übertragung geschieht mittels Übertragunsschlitten. Der Übertragungsschlitten (215320,
Bild A) wird am Artist Artikulator montiert. Hierzu
entfernt man den Frontzahnführungstisch und den
Inzisalstift. In die Aufnahme des Frontzahnführungstisches wird der Übertragungsschlitten bis zum Anschlag eingeführt (Bild E). Damit die Bissgabel beim
Aufsetzen des OK-Gipsmodelles abgestützt ist, empfiehlt sich die Verwendung der Bissgabelstütze
(215260). Sie wird auf den Splitcast des Artikulatorenunterteiles gesetzt.
Jetzt wird der Support vom Gesichtsbogen abgenommen und in die dafür vorgesehene Aufnahme an der
Vorderseite eingeschraubt (Bild F). Mittels Inbusschlüssel
kann nun die Höhe der Bissgabelstütze eingestellt
werden. Durch seitliches Verdrehen der Halterung ist
auch bei einer Schräglage der Bissgabel eine Abstützung möglich.
(2) Direktübertragung
(Gesichtsbogen in Artist Artikulator).
Zur Abstützung der Bissgabel sollte zuerst die Bissgabelstütze (215260) auf das Artikulatorenunterteil
gesetzt werden. Zur Direktübertragung dient das
„Set Direktübertragung“ (215241, Bild 5). Die roten
Ohroliven am Gesichtsbogen werden gegen die
Messing-Adapter aus dem Set ausgetauscht. In die
Aufnahme des Frontzahnführungstisches wird die
Support-Stütze aus dem Set eingesetzt. Die MessingOhroliven des Gesichtsbogens sind bei geöffneter
Zentrik-Schnellfixierung von hinten in die Kondylenbahn des Artikulators einzuführen (Bild G). Der Nasensteg am Gesichtsbogen wird hierzu entfernt. Jetzt
setzt man den Support in die dafür vorgesehene Öffnung an der Support-Stütze ein und dreht die
Fixierschraube zu (Bild H).

The Artist facebow is for transferring the uppermodel
to an Artist articulator in the correct relationship to
the axis. As it opens symmetrically, the sagittal distance
does not change. As the model is transferredin the
correct relationship to the axis, the position of the
patient’s maxilla is quickly and easily transferred to the
Artist.
The Artist facebow was designed for use with Artist
Articulators. We cannot guarantee that it is compatible
with other systems.
USING THE FACEBOW TO ESTABLISH THE
POSITION OF THE MAXILLA IN RELATION
TO THE AXIS
Firstly, the bite is taken with the bite fork. Place three
pieces of bite registration material (bite wax or special
silicone paste) on the bite fork and press it onto the
patient’s maxilla.
As it functions symmetrically, the Artist facebow is
quickly and easily inserted into the auditory canals.
The facebow is held on the face with the nosepiece
(Illustration A).
The upper teeth are positioned in the imprints in the
bite material on the bite fork and cotton rolls used to
support the fork on the mandible. The support is then
screwed tightly into the holder on the facebow
(Illustration B). The screw on the support should be
on the right hand side. The bite fork and support are
then linked with the clamp. Ensure that the bite fork
holder on the support is fully inserted into the bite fork
and fixed in place with the lockingscrew (Illustration C).
Then tighten the locking screw on the support
(Illustration D).
Once the nosepiece fastener has been released, the
facebow can be opened and removed (Illustration A).

TRANSFERRING THE AXIS RELATIONSHIP
TO THE ARTIST ARTICULATOR
There are 2 methods for transferring this information:
(1) Indirect transfer
Indirect transfer is carried out with a transfer slide. The
transfer slide (215320, Illustration E) is fitted to the
Artist articulator. To do so, remove the incisal guidance
table and incisal guidance pin. The transfer slide is then
fully inserted into the incisal guidance table holder
(Illustration E). It is advisable to support the bite fork
with the bite fork support (215260) when placing the
upper model in position. It is placed on the Splitcast
of the lower member of the articulator.
The support is then removed from the facebow and
screwed into the holder on the front (Illustration F).
An Allen key is then used to adjust the height of the
bite fork support. The holder can be turned sideways
to support the bite fork even if it is tilted.
(2) Direct transfer
(facebow on the Artist articulator)
The bite fork support (215260) should first be fitted to
the lower member of the articulator to support the bite
fork. The „Direct Transfer Set“ (215241, Illustration 5)
should be used. The red ear knobs on the facebow are
replaced with the brass adapters from the set. The
supporting pin from the set should be inserted into the
incisal guidance table holder. Open the centric quick
lock and insert the brass earknobs of the facebow into
the condylar path of the articulator from behind
(Illustration G). The nosepiece must be removed from
the facebow for this purpose. The support is then
inserted into the opening in the supporting pin and
the screw tightened (Illustration H).

est serrée sur le support (Fig. D).
Après l’ouverture de la fixation de l’appui nasal, l’arc
peut être ouvert puis déposé (Fig. A).
TRANSFERT DE LA RELATION AXIALE
VERSL’ARTICULATEUR ARTIST
Pour le transfert des données enregistrées, deux
méthodes sont possibles :
fourchetted’occlusion
L’arc facial Artist sert pour le transfert du modèle
du maxillaire supérieur vers l’articulateur Artist en
conservant la position de l’axe. Etant donné qu’il
s’ouvre de façon symétrique, il n’y a aucune modification
de ladistance sagittale. Grâce au transfert permettant
de conserver la position de l’axe, il est possible de
transférer rapidement et de façon simple la position
individuelle du maxillaire du patient vers l’articulateur
Artist.
L’arc facial Artist a iti congu pour s’accorder avec les
articulateurs Artist. Sa compatibiliti avec d’autres
systhmes n’est pas garantie.
UTILISATION DE L’ARC FACIAL
(DÉTERMINATION DE LA RELATION AXIALE)
Tout d’abord, l’articulé est enregistré à l’aide de la fourchette d’occlusion. Du matériau pour prise d’articulé
(cire d’occlusion ou silicone spécial) est placé au niveau
de trois points de la fourchette d’occlusion puis appliqué sur le maxillaire supérieur du patient.
L’arc facial Artist peut être fixé rapidement et sans
aucun problème au niveau des conduits auditifs grâce
à sa fonction symétrique. Le positionnement de l’arcau
niveau de la face est réalisé à l’aide de l’appui nasal.
(Fig. A).
La fourchette d’occlusion est mise en place en se
servant de l’enregistrement des reliefs de l’arcade
dentaire supérieure. Le soutien sur la mandibule est
réalisé à l’aide de deux rouleaux de coton (Fig. B).
Ensuite, le support est fixé par vissage sur l’arc facial
à l’emplacement spécialement réservé à cet effet. La
vis de fixation du support doit alors être située du côté
droit. Maintenant, la fourchette d’occlusion et le support
sont solidarisés au niveau du dispositif d’assemblage
prévu à cet effet. Il faut s’assurer que le dispositif
d’assemblage du support est bien emboîté à fond sur
la fourchette d’occlusion et fermement fixé à l’aide de

(1) Transfert indirect
Le transfert indirect est réalisé au moyen du coulisseau
de transfert. Le coulisseau de transfert (215320, Fig. E)
est monté sur l’articulateur Artist. A cet effet, on
dépose l’assiette incisale et le pivot incisif. Le coulisseau de transfert est emboîté à fond dans l’emplacement réservé à l’assiette incisale (Fig. E). Pour assurer
le soutien de la fourchette d’occlusion lors de la mise
en place du modèle supérieur, il est conseillé d’utiliser
l’étai pour fourchette d’occlusion (215260). Il est placé
sur le Splitcast de la branche inférieure de l’articulateur.
Maintenant, le support est déposé de l’arc facial puis
vissé à l’emplacement prévu à cet effet à la partie
antérieure (Fig. F). La hauteur de l’étai de la fourchette
d’occlusion peut maintenant être réglée à l’aide de la
clé à douille. En déplaçant latéralement le dispositif
d’assemblage, il possible d’obtenir également un soutien
lorsque la fourchette d’occlusion est inclinée latéralement.
(2) Transfert direct (arc facial sur l’articulateur
Artist)
L’étai de soutien pour fourchette d’occlusion (215260)
doit d’abord être placé sur la branche inférieure de
l’articulateur pour assurer le soutien de la fourchette
d’occlusion Le „ set de transfert direct“ (215241, Fig. 5)
sert au transfert direct. Les olives auriculaires rouges
de l’arc facial sont remplacées par les adaptateurs
en laiton du set. L’étai pour le support provenant du
set est mis en place dans l’emplacement réservé à
l’assiette incisale. Les olives auriculaires en laiton de
l’arc facial doivent être mises en place au niveau des
surfaces condylaires par l’arrière lorsque la fixation
rapide pour occlusion centrée est ouverte (Fig. G).
L’appui nasal de l’arc est alors déposé. Maintenant, le
support est mis en place dans l’ouverture prévue à
cet effet au niveau de l’appui pour support et la vis
de blocage est serrée (Fig. H).

L’arco facciale Artist è indicato per il trasferimento del
modello superiore sull’articolatore Artist in asse cerniera. Grazie all’apertura simmetrica non si ha alcuna
alterazione della distanza sagittale. Il trasferimento
dell’asse cerniera consente di trasferire la posizione
mascellare del paziente in maniera rapidae facile
sull’articolatore Artist.
L’arco facciale Artist h abbinato all’ articolatore Artist.
Non si garantisce la compatibilit’ con altri sistemi.
APPLICAZIONE DELL’ARCO FACCIALE
(LOCALIZZAZIONE DELL’ASSE CERNIERA)
Per prima cosa si registra il morso con l’aiuto della
forchetta. A tale scopo si applica il materiale per la
registrazione del morso (cera o pasta al silicone) su
tre punti della forchetta. Posizionare la forchetta sulla
mascella superiore del paziente.
Il funzionamento simmetrico dell’arco facciale Artist
consente di posizionarlo rapidamente e senza problemi
sul meato acustico. Il fissaggio dell’arco sul viso avviene
mediante l’appoggio nasion (figura A).
La forchetta viene posizionata nella mascella in base
alle impronte dell’arcata superiore. Nella mandibola la
forchetta appoggia su due rulli salivari. Successivamente
il supporto viene avvitato nell’apposita sede dell’arco
facciale (figura B). La vite di fissaggio deve trovarsi sul
lato destro del supporto. La forchetta viene poi collegata
al supporto attraverso l’apposita sede avendo cura di
infilare la forchetta fino in fondone ll’apposita sede
prevista sul supporto. Bloccare la forchetta con il
morsetto (figura C). Stringere ilmorsetto sul supporto
(figura D).
Dopo aver allentato il fissaggio dell’appoggio nasionè
possibile aprire e togliere l’arco facciale (figura A).

TRASFERIMENTO DELL’ASSE CERNIERA
SULL’ARTICOLATORE ARTIST
Esistono due modi di trasferimento delle informazioni
registrate:
(1) Trasferimento indiretto
Il trasferimento indiretto avviene tramite l’apposito
pattino. Il pattino di trasferimento (215320, figura E)
viene montato sull’articolatore Artist dopo aver rimosso
il piatto incisale e l’asta. Inserire il pattino nella sede
del piatto incisale e spingerlo a fine corsa (figura E).
Per appoggiare la forchetta durante il montaggio del
modello superiore in gesso si consigliadi usare il supporto per forchetta (215260). Tale supporto viene posizionato sullo splitcast della branca inferiore dell’articolatore.
Rimuovere il supporto dall’arco facciale ed avvitarlo
nell’apposita sede sul lato anteriore (figura F). L’altezza
del supporto per la forchetta può essere regolata con
l’aiuto di una chiave Allen. Girando il supporto lateralmente si ottiene un appoggio anche nel caso di una
posizione obliqua della forchetta.
(2) Trasferimento diretto (arco facciale nell’articolatore Artist)
Per appoggiare la forchetta si consiglia di montare
prima il supporto per forchetta (215260) sulla branca
inferiore dell’articolatore. Il trasferimento diretto è
effettuato tramite l’apposito „Set“ (215241, figura 5).
Sostituire gli auricolari rossi dell’arco facciale congli
adattatori in ottone del set. Inserire l’appoggio-supporto del set nella sede del piatto incisale. Infilare gli
auricolari in ottone dell’arco facciale da dietro nelle
ceste condilari con il blocco centrico aperto (figura G).
A tale scopo si rimuove l’appoggio nasion dall’arco
facciale. Inserire il supporto nell’apposito foro previsto
sull’appoggio-supporto e stringere lavite di fissaggio
(figura H).

El arco facial Artist sirve para transferir el modelo del
maxilar superior al articulador Artist respetando su
orientación axial. Puesto que la apertura del arco es
simétrica, no se produce una variación de la distancia
sagital. La transferencia que respeta la orientación
axial, permite transferir de forma rápida y sencilla la
posición individual del maxilar del paciente al articulador Artist.
El arco facial Artist ha sido adecuado a los articuladores Artist. No se garantiza la compatibilidad con
otros sistemas.
UTILIZACIÓN DEL ARCO FACIAL
(DETERMINACIÓN DE LA RELACIÓN AXIAL)
En primer lugar, se realiza la toma de la mordida con
la horquilla de mordida. A tal efecto se aplican tres puntos de material para toma de mordida (cera de mordida
o bien silicona especial) sobre la horquilla de mordida
y se coloca ésta sobre el maxilar del paciente.
El arco facial Artist puede adaptarse al conducto auditivo de forma rápida y sencilla gracias a su funcionamiento simétrico. La fijación del arco en la cara se
realiza por medio del apoyo nasal (imagen A).
Con referencia a las impresiones de la arcada dental
superior, se coloca la horquilla de mordida en el maxilar.
Se apoya sobre la mandíbula mediante dos rollos de
algodón intercalados. A continuación, se atornilla el
soporte en el alojamiento previsto del arco facial
(imagen B). El tornillo de fijación del soporte deberá
encontrarse en el lado derecho. Ahora se conecta
elarco facial con el soporte a través del alojamiento
previsto a tal efecto. Deberá cuidarse de que la horquilla
de mordida quede enchufada hasta su tope enel alojamiento específico del soporte, fijando lahorquilla con
el tornillo de apriete (imagen C). Parafinalizar, se
atornilla el tornillo de apriete en el soporte (imagen D).

Después de abrir la fijación del apoyo nasal puede
abrirse el arco facial y retirarse éste (imagen A).
TRANSFERENCIA DE LA RELACIÓN AXIAL
ALARTICULADOR ARTIST
Para transferir la información obtenida, existen 2
posibilidades:
(1) Transferencia indirecta
La transferencia indirecta se realiza mediante el banco
de transferencia. El banco de transferencia (215320,
imagen E) se monta en el articulador Artist. Para ello
es necesario desmontar la guía incisal y la varilla
incisal. En el alojamiento para la guía incisal se introduce
el banco de transferencia hasta su tope (imagen E).
Para que la horquilla de mordida disponga de un apoyo
al colocar el modelo de escayola del maxilar, se recomienda utilizar el apoyo para horquilla de mordida
(215260). Éste se coloca sobre el Splitcast de la parte
inferior del articulador.
Ahora se separa el soporte del arco facial y se atornilla en el alojamiento previsto a tal efecto en la parte
anterior (imagen F). Ahora puede ajustarse la altura
del apoyo para la horquilla de mordida mediante la
llave hexagonal. Girando lateralmente el soporte, también es posible apoyar la horquilla de mordida cuando ésta presenta una inclinación.
(2) Transferencia directa
(arco facial en articulador Artist)
Para apoyar la horquilla de mordida es preciso montar
primero el apoyo para la horquilla de mordida (215260)
en la parte inferior del articulador. Para la transferencia
directa se utiliza el „Juego para transferencia directa“
(215241, imagen 5). Los botones del porus rojos en el
arco facial se sustituyen por los adaptadores de latón
pertenecientes al juego. En el alojamiento para la guía
incisal se coloca el apoyo para el soporte incluido en
el juego. Los botones del porus de latón en el arco
facial deberán introducirse desde atrás en la trayectoria condílea del articulador, estando la fijación rápida
de céntrica abierta (imagenG). El apoyo nasal del arco
facial se desmonta a tal efecto. Ahora se coloca el
soporte en el orificio específico previsto en el apoyo del
soporte y se atornilla el tornillo de fijación (imagen H).
