FUTURO CONTINUO Y FUTURO PERFECTO.
Futuro continuo
Forma: Will be + Ving Ej: “ In two years’ time I will be working as a doctor”
IMPORTANTE: Cuando en una forma verbal coinciden dos o más auxiliares, como es
el caso este del futuro continuo, la forma negativa siempre se aplica al primer auxiliar
Negativa: “Be patient. In a couple of hours we will not be doing this boring task”
Uso: Este tiempo tiene una función idéntica al español. Se refiere a lo que estará pasando en
un momento determinado del futuro.
Ej: “Don’t call me before 10 tomorrow, as everyone at home will still be sleeping”
“ At this time next Saturday, I will be taking my plane to Alaska”
Futuro perfecto.
Forma: Will have+ Past Participle Ej:“ By 9 I will have finished all my homework”
Uso: Indica una acción que en un punto del futuro habrá concluido.
Ej: “By this time tomorrow all this fight will have finished”
“ In ten years I will have got married and I will have raised two children”
PRACTICE:
1.- Place yourself in the future ( next summer, next year, in 10 years, next weekend, etc) and
write 5 things you will be doing then. Write the time reference too.

There will be es la forma de futuro del impersonal (Existential patterns) There is / there are.
Ej: “There will be a dramatic climate change in a few years”.
“There will be vaccines and medicines to cure and treat every disease”
Observa que en el futuro esta forma es invariable, independientemente de que se refiera a
elementos en singular o plural.
Ahora, analiza las siguientes oraciones y tradúcelas a Inglés:
a)Dentro de 100 años el cambio climático habrá destruido muchas partes del planeta
b)Dentro de 100 años habrá muchas partes del planeta en peligro.

Como puedes ver en ambas oraciones aparece la forma verbal habrá; sin embargo, se
expresan de distintas maneras. El no saber distinguir las forma impersonal del futuro y el futuro
perfecto, puede conducir a errores en la producción lingüística.
a) In one hundred years’ time the climate change will have destroyed a lot of parts of the
planet.
b) In one hundred years’ time there will be a lot of parts of the planet in danger.
