(EXAMPLE) Recoletos Prado Axis, Madrid ( Alvaro Siza Vieira )
Students: Pablo del Castillo and Álvaro Martín
The Recoletos-Prado axis has a length of 2.5 km and
extends from Colón to Atocha. It is a unique
environment because it envolves a lot of museums and
cultural buildings. A symbol of the city, for both, locals
and international image, but today It is also considered
one of the main arteries of traffic and pedestrian space
is scarce. The proposal attempts to retrieve the walk
character, returning the city to citizen, creating a worthy
prelude of museums and equipment. Among other
things, pavements and street furniture will be renewed
and unified, and pedestrian area and the number of
trees will be greatly increased.
