Abstract
In 2009 the participating organisations at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (La
Palma, Spain) started a programme to reach every secondary school student from La Palma
island every year. The programme was intended to offer a first-hand approach to the
research world and an inspiring and fruitful experience to both students and teachers. Here
we report on the first years of operation, our conclusions, and some ideas for the future.
