Bellevue Parents Auxiliary
BPA is our school parent organization. We
embrace parent volunteers and appreciate
the services they provide to our students.

Center specialists. Ronda Ward, our ESL
specialist, said of the co-teaching model,
“ it is an awesome opportunity for
students to stay in class and have equal
access to curriculum at their level of
learning.” This benefit is shared by the
teachers involved in our co-teaching
model.
As part of the grant for this year, team of
our teachers will get to visit other schools
to observe their co-teaching models while
also participating in training. We also had
a team that visited a model school last
year to learn about their co-teaching
model.
The grant is a three year process of
training, planning and implementing coteaching in our schools.
Book Fair - December 3, 4, 5
We are looking for parents who can
help for short blocks of time with
our book fair. We need help with set
up and clean up, and helping
families with purchases.
Parent Teacher Conferences
First Trimester Parent Teacher Conferences will be
held Thursday, December 4th and Friday, December 5th this
year! Watch for more information and a invitation to
schedule your conference time with your student’s
teachers.
The ABC’s of conferences
Parent teacher conferences can be helpful and
informative. Try the tips below to get the most out of
these important meetings.
Always Prepare. Let the teacher know about your
child’s strengths, needs, study habits and hobbies.
Have some questions ready, like “How’s my child’s
attitude in class?”, “How does my child do working in
groups and independently?”, “What specific things
can I do to support my child and reinforce classroom
lessons at home?”
Be Positive. Showing the teacher you appreciate
their efforts helps build a strong working relationship.
How? Talk about a project your child enjoyed, or
share stories you have heard at home about what your
student is liking about class.
Check back. Work with your child on areas that
need help, such as spending more time reading aloud.
After a few weeks, check on their progress by calling
the teacher or writing a note.
English Language Arts Curriculum
We have a new English Language Arts Curriculum this year called Wonders
that aligns with the Idaho Core State Standards. The district adopted the
curriculum after piloting it in classes last year. There is an increased focus on
non fiction reading and writing in this curriculum and more opportunities
for students to practice the skills that our state standards and state
assessment expect. Students and teachers are both enjoying this new
curriculum and its engaging activities that deepen our thinking and
application of reading and writing skills. Join us at our ELA curriculum night on
November 6th to learn more about this curriculum and see what you can do to
support at home.
Cub Council
Our 5th grade students have started their work with our Cub Council to be
the leaders and mentors of our school. All 5th grade students are welcome
to be part of Cub Council. The group started their community service this
year, by volunteering at the Hope Garden for the fall cleanup. They also
brought our Wear Pink day to the school and supported our Unity Day for
the bully awareness campaign. They have many other projects and ideas
planned for the year. Thank you goes to Mrs.

5th Grade Playground Project
Our 5th grade students are busy starting their first project for the year. They have been
challenged to help design a playground that has activities and games for all ages. They
will be responsible for surveying the school for game ideas, designing our space, writing
the game rules and training staff and other students on how to play the games.

El Centro de Atención
Co-Enseñaza
La Primaria de Bellevue está emocionada
de ser parte de un equipo del distrito que
recibió una beca del estado para apoyar la
implementación de un modelo de coenseñanza. La co-enseñanza es un modelo
instruccional donde un maestro(a) de
salón y un especialista comparten la
enseñanza de una clase de un tema o área
específica. Candice Schley, una de
nuestras maestras de 3o grado esta
involucrados en la implementación y
comparte el beneficio de este modelo
como "alguien muy cerca con quien
planear y rebotar ideas.” A los maestros se
les da tiempo para planificar juntos las
lecciones e intencionalmente puedan
crear lecciones que satisfacen las
necesidades exclusivas de aprendizaje de
sus alumnos. Con co-enseñanza, el
personal comparte la responsabilidad de
la planificación, las clasificaciones,
evaluaciones y enseñanzas de todos los
estudiantes en la clase. En Bellevue
estamos implementando la co-enseñanza
con nuestro
programa de
Inglés como
Segundo
Idioma (ESL) y nuestra especialista de
Centro de Aprendizaje. Ronda Ward,
nuestra especialista de ESL, dijo del
modelo de co-enseñanza, "es una buena
oportunidad para que los estudiantes
permanezcan en clase y tengan el mismo
acceso a el currículo a su nivel de
aprendizaje." Este beneficio es compartido
con los maestros involucrados en nuestro
modelo de co-enseñanza. Como parte de la
subvención para este año, equipos de
nuestros maestros van a visitar otras
escuelas para observar sus modelos de coenseñanza al igual que también participaran
en entrenamiento. También tenemos un
equipo que visito una escuela modelo el
año pasado para aprender de su modelo de
co-enseñanza. La subvención es un proceso
de tres años de entrenamiento,
planificación e implementación de coenseñanza en nuestras escuelas.

Feria de Libros - diciembre 3, 4, 5,
Estamos buscando a padres que pueden
ayudar por tiempos cortos en nuestra feria
de libros. Necesitamos ayuda instalando y
arreglando, limpiando y ayudando a las
familias con sus compras.

organización de padres de nuestra escuela.

Conferencias de Padres y Maestros
¡La Conferencia de Padres y Maestros para el primer

5 de diciembre este año! Espere para obtener más
información y una invitación para escoger un horario
para su conferencia con el maestro(a) de su hijo(a).

La Conferencia de Padres y Maestros puede ser útil e
informativa. Intente los consejos siguientes para sacar el
mejor provecho de estas reuniones.
Siempre Prepárese. Hágale saber al maestro(a) las
fortalezas, necesidades, hábitos de estudio y pasatiempos
de su hijo(a). Tenga algunas preguntas listas como

trabaja en grupos e independiente? " " ¿Qué cosas
especificas puedo hacer yo por mi hijo(a) para apoyar y
reforzar lecturas de clase en la casa?”
Se Positivo. Demostrarle al maestro(a) que usted aprecia
su esfuerzo, esto ayuda a construir una relación sólida de
trabajo. ¿Cómo? Hable sobre un proyecto que su hijo(a)
disfruto, o comparta historias que ha escuchado en casa
acerca de lo que a su estudiante le gusto de la clase.
Vuelva a chequear. Trabaje con su niño(a) en las áreas
que necesitan ayuda, como dedicando más tiempo a la
lectura en voz alta. Después de unas pocas semanas,
verifique su progreso llamando al maestro(a) o
escribiendo una nota.
Currículo de Lenguaje y Literatura en Ingles
Este año tenemos un nuevo Currículo de Lenguaje y Literatura en Inglés llamado
Wonders que cumple con los Estándares Esenciales del Estado de Idaho. El distrito
adoptó este currículo de evaluar este experimento en clases el año pasado. Hay
un aumento de concentración en la literatura y escritura de no ficción en este
currículo y hay más oportunidades para que los estudiantes puedan practicar las
habilidades que nuestros estándares estatales y evaluación del estado esperan. Los
estudiantes y maestros están disfrutando este nuevo currículo y los involucra en
actividades que profundizan la reflexión y la aplicación de habilidades de lectura y
escritura. Acompáñenos en nuestra noche de currículo de ELA el 6 de noviembre
para aprender más sobre este nuevo currículo y
obtener algunas maneras simples que usted puede apoyar en casa.
Cub Council
Nuestros estudiantes de 5to grado han iniciado su labor con nuestro Cub Council
para ser los líderes y mentores de nuestra escuela. Cualquier estudiante de 5to grado
es bienvenido a formar parte del Cub Council. El grupo inició su servicio a la
comunidad este año, siendo voluntarios en la Hope Garden en la limpieza del otoño.
También han traído el día de Vestir de color Rosa y apoyaron nuestro Día de la
Unidad para la campaña de Concientización de Bully (Acoso). Tienen muchas otras
ideas y proyectos planificados para el año. Quiero darle las gracias a la Sra. Jones y a
los maestros de 5to. grado que dedicaron tiempo para apoyar este trabajo.

nuestros estudiante de 5to Grado para el Patio de Recreo Nuestro alumnos de 5to grado están ocupados iniciando
grado, Los Observadores su primer proyecto para el año. Ellos han sido desafiados a ayudar a diseñar un patio
del Clima, los viernes por de recreo que tenga actividades y juegos para todas las edades. Ellos van a ser
las mañanas alas 7:50am responsables para crear una encuesta para toda la escuela para ideas para juegos,
en KSKI radio FM 94.5. diseñar nuestro espacio, escribir las reglas de los juegos y entrenar a nuestro personal y
otros estudiantes como jugar los juegos.
