• Stakeholders in Red Compartida have reaffirmed their confidence

Compartida bidding process. During this period, the Ministry of
Communications and Transportation (SCT) and the Federal
Telecommunications Institute (IFT) answered nearly 900 questions
from the participating bidders. This information is available on the
Compranet website.
In response to the requests made by the bidders during the clarification
process, SCT and IFT have decided to grant additional time for
preparation. The contestants, who have reiterated their strong interest
in the project, have sought more time to finalize the financing of their

This modification has led to changes in the deadlines of certain stages
of the tender. The submission of the request for an opinion on
economic competition and influence to the IFT was moved to
September 12th and the date of award notification will now be on
October 17th.
The submission of proposals to the SCT will now take place on
October 20th of this year, and the final decision of the tender will be on
November 17th. The signing of the contract will occur no later than
January 17th, 2017, and may take place sooner if the winning bidder
meets the requirements for an earlier date.
It is important to note that these modifications to the calendar were
also requested by various national and international financial
institutions who are interested in financing Red Compartida.
Furthermore, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the financial advisor to
SCT in this project, also analyzed these changes, and found them to
be positive and beneficial to the bidding process.
These changes will allow SCT to maximize participation and
competition in the tender, which is key to obtaining the best proposals,
so that Red Compartida can cover the largest possible percentage of
the Mexican population.
