Important:
L This unit is compatible only with the 5.8 GHz expandable digital cordless handset KXTGA571 (color display type).
L In these operating instructions, the term “handset” is used to refer to the color display
handset (KX-TGA571).
You can monitor the room where the cordless camera is located when:
– you access the cordless camera using the handset (page 11).
– the cordless camera pages the handset when it detects sound (page 12).
– the cordless camera user pages the handset using the call button (page 13).

Introduction
Important safety
instructions
When using the product, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or
personal injury.
1. Read and understand all instructions.
2. Keep these instructions.
3. Heed all warnings.
4. Follow all instructions.
5. After cleaning away the dust on the
lens, wipe the lens with a cotton bud.
6. Do not install near any heat sources
such as radiators, heat registers,
stoves, or other devices (including
amplifiers) that produce heat.
7. Protect the AC adaptor cord from being
walked on or pinched particularly at
plugs, receptacles, and the point
where they exit from the unit.
8. Do not touch the unit or the AC adaptor
during lightning storms.
9. Unplug the unit when unused for long
periods of time.
10. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel. Servicing is required when
the unit has been damaged in any way,
such as the AC adaptor cord or plug is
damaged, the unit does not operate
normally, or has been dropped.

Installation
L Do not touch the plug with wet hands.

L The AC adaptor is used as the main
disconnect device. Ensure that the AC
outlet is installed near the product and is
easily accessible.
WARNING:
L To prevent the risk of fire or electrical
shock, do not expose the product to rain
or any type of moisture.
L Unplug the product from power outlets if
it emits smoke, an abnormal smell, or
makes an unusual noise. These
conditions can cause fire or electric
shock. Confirm that smoke has stopped
emitting and contact the Panasonic Call
Center at 1-800-211-PANA (1-800-2117262).
L Do not place or use this product near
automatically controlled devices such as
automatic doors and fire alarms. Radio
waves emitted from this product may
cause such devices to malfunction

L Completely insert the AC adaptor/power
plug into the power outlet. Failure to do
so may cause electric shock and/or
excessive heat resulting in a fire.

This unit communicates using radio
waves.
For maximum distance and noise-free
operation, we recommend placing the
product away from electrical appliances.
Environment
L Keep the product away from electrical
noise generating devices, such as
fluorescent lamps and motors.
L The product should be kept free from
excessive smoke, dust, high
temperature, and vibration.
L The product should not be exposed to
direct sunlight.
L Do not place heavy objects on top of the
product.
L The product should be kept away from
heat sources such as heaters, kitchen
stoves, etc. It should not be placed in
rooms where the temperature is less
than 5 °C (41 °F) or greater than 40 °C
(104 °F). Damp basements should also
be avoided.
L Operating the product near electrical
appliances may cause interference.

Routine care
L Wipe the outer surface of the product
with a soft moist cloth. Do not use

Conditions for using the cordless
camera
L The cordless camera is intended for
indoor use only. Prolonged exposure to
direct sunlight or halogen light may
damage the camera lens.
L Use the cordless camera in a bright
place such as under daylight or a well-lit
room.
L Do not use the cordless camera in the
following places:
– near incandescent lamps.
– near any electrical appliance that
emits a strong radio signal.
– where the subject of the picture is
against a light source or in front of a
mirror.
– in places where temperature varies
greatly, such as near an air
conditioner or heater.
– any place exposed to oil or steam
such as a kitchen.
– where an object such as glass can
cause temperature change due to
reflection.
L When using the cordless camera,
please take into consideration the rights
of others with regard to privacy.

Understanding the cordless camera indicator
The cordless camera indicator shows the status as follows.
Status
Description
Red (flashing rapidly)
L The cordless camera is not registered. Register the
cordless camera (page 15).
L The cordless camera is out of range. Locate the cordless
camera near the base unit.
Yellow-green
L The cordless camera is registered and in standby mode.
Yellow-green (flashing)
L The camera sensor is responding and the cordless
camera is paging the handset.
L The cordless camera is connected and sending live
images to the handset.

Connect the AC adaptor cord by pressing the plug firmly (A). Connect the call button cord
until it clicks into the unit (B).
L Use only the included Panasonic AC adaptor PQLV235.

warm during use.)

Aim the camera lens by pushing the tab (A) and rotating the lens forward or backward.
L Using the handset, confirm that the area you want to monitor from the cordless camera
is displayed (page 11).

You can set the following functions by using the DIP switch 1 to 3.
Slide each switch with a pointed object such as a pen as necessary.
After repositioning the DIP switches to your preferred settings, unplug the AC adaptor then
reconnect it. The cordless camera is reset to these settings.

To turn the camera image upside down, set to OFF. This feature is useful when you mount
the cordless camera upside down (page 17).
Selecting image quality (standard quality mode/enhanced motion mode)

If you want enhanced motion, set to OFF (Enhanced motion mode). The image clarity
decreases.
If you want to improve the image clarity, leave at ON (Standard quality mode). The motion
becomes less enhanced.
Selecting the cordless camera speaker volume (DIP switch 3)
If you want to lower the speaker volume, set to OFF (LOW).

Camera monitoring
using a handset
L The cordless camera may not page
handsets in the following conditions:
– when other users are on an intercom
or conference call.
– when electrical interference is emitted
from electrical devices.
– while you are on a call with the
handset. (In this case you will hear 2
tones and z will flash on the
handset.)
Monitoring the cordless camera
from a handset
With a color display handset (KXTGA571), you can monitor the image and
sound of the room where the cordless
camera is located. The monitored camera
does not ring, allowing you to easily
monitor a baby’s room, for example, from
different areas of the house.
Important:
L Before you start monitoring, confirm that
the camera lens of the cordless camera
has been adjusted to the correct angle.
L Only 1 person can access the cordless
camera at a time.
L A refreshed image taken by the cordless
camera is displayed every few seconds.
The displayed image is not a moving
picture. Selecting enhanced motion
mode shortens the interval (page 9).
L While monitoring a cordless camera,
other users cannot make an intercom
call or transfer a call.
L The monitoring connection is
automatically canceled after 10 minutes.
L While monitoring you cannot place the
handset on the base unit or charger. The
monitoring connection will be canceled.

L Each time you press {OPTION}, the

Camera Monitoring
Setting the audio detection sensitivity
The cordless camera features a sensor
that detects human voices such as a baby
cry. Sounds other than human voices may
be difficult to detect. To use this feature,
confirm that the cordless camera is located
in a place where it can easily detect
voices. Once the sensor has detected
sound, the cordless camera pages the
handset.
To use the audio detection feature of the
cordless camera, turn the audio detection
sensitivity to on.
There are 3 levels. The default setting is
“off”.

Registering the cordless
camera
The included cordless camera and base
unit are preregistered. If for some reason
the cordless camera is not registered to
the base unit, register the cordless
camera.

Base unit:
Press and hold {INTERCOM} until the
IN USE indicator flashes.
L After the IN USE indicator starts
flashing, the rest of the procedure
must be completed within 90
seconds.
Cordless camera:
Press PROG. (program) on the back
side of the cordless camera with a
pointed object such as a pen until a
short beep starts to sound.
L When registration is completed
successfully, a long beep sounds and
the indicator stops flashing red but
remains lit in yellow-green (page 6).
Deregistering the cordless
camera
The base unit can cancel the registration
of a registered cordless camera.
Important:
L Before deregistering, confirm the
cordless camera’s extension number
from the handset (color display models
only: KX-TGA571).
Press {INTERCOM} on the handset to
display its extension.

Useful Information
Wall mounting
The cordless camera can be mounted by the standard mounting or upside down
mounting.
CAUTION:
L Mount the cordless camera on the stable location where the unit can be adequately
supported when installing.
L The AC adaptor should be connected to a vertically oriented or floor-mounted AC outlet.
Do not connect the AC adaptor to a ceiling-mounted AC outlet, as the weight of the
adaptor may cause it to become disconnected.
L Do not mount the cordless camera on a soft material. It may fall down, break or
cause injury.
L Do not mount the cordless camera on the following places: plaster board, ALC
(autoclaved lightweight cellular concrete), concrete block, plywood less than 25 mm (1
inch) thick, and etc.
L Do not pull the call button wire after you mount the cordless camera on the wall.
L After mounting the cordless camera on the wall, speak loudly and clearly into the MIC
when talking with the handset user.
Connecting the wall-mounting adaptor
A Slide the cordless camera into the wall-mounting adaptor in the direction of the arrow
until it clicks into the place.
B Tuck the call button wire into the hole on the side of the wall-mounting adaptor by
plugging the small wire fixture into the hole.
C Turning it slightly and sliding it in place.
D Fasten the call button wire to the hook of the wall-mounting adaptor.

L The cordless camera is out of range. Locate the

The image is faint.
L The camera lens is dirty. Clean it with a soft dry cloth.
L Do not touch the lens directly. Fingerprint may cause an
unclear image.
The image sent from the
cordless camera is poor
on the handset display.
L Adjust the display brightness setting (page 13).
L Select standard quality mode instead of enhanced
motion mode (page 9).
L The place where the cordless camera is located is dark.
Improve lighting.
The image sent from the
cordless camera is dark
and difficult to see on the
handset display.
L Adjust the display brightness setting (page 13).
L There is a strong sunlight or a backlight in the place
where the cordless camera is located. Try shading the
camera’s location.
I cannot connect to the
cordless camera, the
image distorts, or the
image is slow.
L The cordless camera has lost communications with the
base unit. Move the cordless camera closer to the base
unit, and try again.
L There is an obstacle such as concrete wall. Move the
cordless camera to the place without an obstacle.
L A microwave appliance is in use. Move the cordless
camera closer to the base unit or use the cordless
camera away from that appliance, and try again.
The camera sensor does
not respond.
L If you set the audio detection sensitivity to off, the
camera sensor does not respond. Turn this feature on
(page 14).
L While a handset is monitoring the cordless camera, the
cordless camera stops detecting sound.

Para conectar el adaptador de corriente alterna y el botón de llamada
Conecte el cable del adaptador para corriente oprimiendo firmemente el enchufe (A). Conecte el
cable del botón de llamada hasta que haga clic en la unidad (B).
L Use sólo el adaptador de corriente alterna Panasonic PQLV235 incluido.

Para voltear la cámara de cabeza, configúrela en OFF (apagado). Esta función es útil cuando se
monta la cámara inalámbrica de cabeza (página 11).
Selección de la calidad de la imagen (modo de calidad estándar/modo de movimiento

Si desea mejorar el movimiento, configúrelo en OFF (apagado) (modo de movimiento mejorado). La
claridad de la imagen se reduce.

Monitoreo de la cámara
usando un auricular
Puede monitorear la imagen y sonido de la
habitación donde se encuentra la cámara
inalámbrica con un auricular con pantalla en
color (KX-TGA571). La cámara monitoreada no
timbra, lo cual le permite monitorear fácilmente
la habitación de un bebé, por ejemplo, desde
diferentes áreas de la casa.
Importante:
L Antes de comenzar a monitorear, confirme
que la lente de la cámara inalámbrica esté
ajustada en el ángulo correcto.
L Sólo una persona puede tener acceso a la
cámara inalámbrica a la vez.
L Aparece una imagen nueva tomada por la cámara
inalámbrica cada pocos segundos. La imagen
que se muestra no es una imagen en movimiento.
Al seleccionar el modo de movimiento mejorado
se reduce el intervalo (página 5).
L Mientras se monitorea una cámara inalámbrica,
otros usuarios no pueden hacer llamadas con
intercomunicador o transferir llamadas.
L La conexión de monitoreo se cancela
automáticamente después de 10 minutos.
L No es posible colocar el auricular en la
unidad base o el cargador mientras está
monitoreando. La conexión de monitoreo se
cancelará.

L Es posible que la cámara inalámbrica no
busque auriculares en las siguientes
condiciones:
– Cuando otros usuarios están en una
llamada de intercomunicador o de
conferencia.
– Cuando los dispositivos eléctricos
cercanos emiten interferencia eléctrica.
– Mientras se encuentra en una llamada con
el auricular. (En este caso escuchará 2
tonos y z parpadeará en el auricular.)

que responde puede monitorear las imágenes
en vivo desde la cámara inalámbrica.
Importante:
L Sólo los auriculares registrados con pantalla
en color (KX-TGA571) pueden buscarse
desde la cámara inalámbrica. La unidad
base y los auriculares con pantalla
monocromática (KX-TGA570) no pueden
buscarse.
L Si la cámara inalámbrica busca un auricular
durante una llamada, suenan 2 tonos y z
parpadea en el auricular. Para monitorear la
cámara inalámbrica desde el auricular, pulse
{OFF}, y después pulse {s}.
L La función de intercomunicador automático
no se puede usar cuando una cámara
inalámbrica hace la búsqueda.
Importante:
L Puede ajustar la sensibilidad de detección
del audio (página 8).

Configuración de la sensibilidad de
detección del audio
La cámara inalámbrica incluye un sensor que
detecta las voces humanas, como la de un
bebé que llora. Puede ser difícil detectar los
sonidos que no sean de voces humanas. Para
usar esta función, confirme que la cámara
inalámbrica se ubique en un lugar donde pueda
detectar las voces humanas con facilidad. Una
vez que el sensor detecta el movimiento, la
cámara inalámbrica busca el auricular.
Para usar la función de detección de audio de
la cámara inalámbrica, encienda la función de
sensibilidad de detección de audio.
Existen 3 niveles. La configuración
predeterminada es “off”.

Para registrar la cámara
inalámbrica
La cámara inalámbrica y la unidad base que se
incluyen han sido previamente registradas. Si
por alguna razón la cámara inalámbrica no está
registrada en la unidad base, regístrela.

Unidad base:
Oprima y mantenga oprimido {INTERCOM}
hasta que comience a parpadear y se emita
un pitido.
L Después de que el indicador IN USE (en
uso) comience a parpadear, debe
completar el resto del procedimiento en
menos de 90 segundos.
Cámara inalámbrica:
Oprima PROG. (programa) en la parte
trasera de la cámara inalámbrica con un
objeto puntiagudo como una pluma hasta
que empiece a sonar un pitido corto.
L Cuando el registro se completa con éxito,
sonará un pitido largo y el indicador deja
de parpadear en rojo pero permanece
encendido en amarillo verdoso (página
3).
Para cancelar el registro de una
cámara inalámbrica
La unidad base puede cancelar el registro de
una cámara inalámbrica registrada.
Importante:
L Antes de eliminar el registro, confirme el
número de extensión de la cámara
inalámbrica desde el auricular (sólo para los
modelos con pantalla en color: KX-TGA571).
Pulse {INTERCOM} en el auricular para ver
su extensión.

Pulse y mantenga pulsado {INTERCOM}
hasta que el indicador IN USE (en uso)

Instalación en la pared
La cámara inalámbrica se puede montar de forma normal o de cabeza.
PRECAUCIÓN:
L Instale la cámara inalámbrica en una ubicación estable en la que la unidad se pueda apoyar
adecuadamente al instalarla.
L El adaptador de corriente alterna debe estar conectado a una toma de corriente alterna orientada
verticalmente o montada en el piso. No conecte el adaptador de corriente alterna a una toma de
corriente alterna montada en el techo, ya que su peso puede hacer que se desconecte.
L No instale la cámara inalámbrica sobre un material suave. Es posible que se caiga, se
rompa o cause lesiones.
L No instale la cámara inalámbrica en los siguientes lugares: tabla roca, concreto celular ligero
tratado en autoclave, bloques de concreto, madera laminada de menos de 25 mm (1 pulgada) de
grosor, etc.
L No jale el cable del botón de llamada después de montar la cámara inalámbrica en la pared.
L Después de instalar la cámara inalámbrica en la pared, hable fuerte y claro en el MIC con el
usuario del auricular.
Para conectar el adaptador de instalación
A Deslice la cámara inalámbrica en dirección de la flecha en el adaptador de instalación en la
pared hasta que oiga un clic que indique que ya está en su sitio.
B Acomode el cable del botón de llamada en el agujero del adaptador de instalación en la pared
enchufando el accesorio del cable pequeño en el agujero.
C Déle vuelta ligeramente y deslícelo en su lugar.
D Asegure el cable del botón de llamada al gancho del adaptador de instalación en la pared.
