Dear Parents and Guardians,
We would like to remind you of our pick-up policy for students who are walkers.
Some of our staff are new and do not know many of the families in our building;
however, we are very concerned about the safety of all our students and staff
members at Sunnyside School. We are committed to keeping everyone in our
community safe from the many dangers in today’s society, and want our building
to be as secure as possible for everyone’s safety. We know that you want the same
thing.
In order to help accomplish this goal, we are asking parents, guardians,
relatives, and/or caretakers to follow this pick-up policy for walkers:
1. Those picking-up students are being asked to wait outside the school doors,
in order to give sufficient space in the hallways for students to safely move
through the building without crowding and to be dismissed in an orderly
manner.
2. The end of the day is very important to the students. Many directions are
given by staff members for homework and reminders to help students
develop good study habits and organizational skills essential for success in
school and life. We are asking that you do not ring the doorbell. The
students walking home will be dismissed at 3:30 P.M.
3. If you occasionally, find it necessary to pick your student up early, please
notify the office by note or phone. When calling please allow adequate
time for us to prepare your child for leaving. You will need to come into
the building to the office to sign out your child. For safety reasons, your
child cannot be released to anyone who is not listed on his or her
emergency card.
MORNING DROP OFF
Students are to arrive at 8:40 A.M. Supervision is available at this time. Please do
not drop your child off earlier. There will be no supervision. Please pull up to the
chain and a teacher will escort your child out of the vehicle to the playground.
Please do not park and allow your student to cross the parking lot by themselves.
Students line up on the playground and wait for the 8:45 A.M. school bell.
We welcome parents, however during morning drop off please drop your child off
at the playground or at the door and we will safely escort your child to his or her
classroom. This will allow us to safely monitor visitors in our building. If you
would like to visit your child’s classroom stop by the office to sign in and receive
a visitor’s pass. It is suggested that you arrange your visit in advance with the
teacher or the principal.
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES FOR WALKERS
Kindergarten and First Grade classes will be dismissed by teachers and may be
picked-up at the west school doors by the Kindergarten and gymnasium.
Second through Fifth Grade classes will be dismissed by teachers and may be
picked-up at the front and center, main school doors. They may then walk to
pick-up siblings or other family members by their respective doorways.
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES FOR CAR RIDERS
Students being picked-up by car will meet their rides at the gym door. Parents will
be directed to pull around to the side gym door.
If your child is a car rider and you would like to meet your child inside the school,
the door will be open at 3:30pm. You may enter and go directly to the gym to
retrieve your child. The door will not be open until 3:30pm. Your patience is
appreciated.

Nos gustaria recordarle nuestros procedimientos de como recoger a los
estudiantes que caminan a casa. Algunos de nuestros empleados son nuevos y
no conocen a muchas de las familias de nuestra escuela; sin embargo, estamos
muy concientes de la seguridad de todos nuestros estudiantes y empleados de
la escuela Sunnyside. Estamos comprometidos a mantener a todos los
miembros de nuestra comunidad segura y fuera de todos los peligros que hay
hoy en dia en nuestra sociedad, y queremos que nuestra escuela sea lo mas
segura posible para la seguridad de todos. Sabemos que ustedes quieren lo
mismo.
Para lograr nuestro objetivo, les estamos pidiendo a los padres, tutores,
familiares, y/o amigos que sigan el procedimiento de como recoger a los
estudiantes que caminan a casa:
1. Se les pide a los estudiantes que esperen afuera de la puerta de la escuela,
para que haya suficiente espacio en los pasillos y el resto de los estudiantes
puedan salir sin empujones y de forma ordenada.
2. El final del dia es muy importante para los estudiantes. Ya que instrucciones
son dadas por los maestros o miembros de la escuela de tareas o recordatorios
de como los estudiantes pueden formar buenos habitos de estudio y habilidades
de como sobresalir en la escuela y en la vida. Por eso le pedimos que no toque
el timbre. Los estudiantes que caminan a casa se les dejar ir a las 3:30 P.M.
3. Si de repente, necesita recoger al estudiante temprano, favor de notificar con
tiempo a la oficina con una nota o por telefono. Cuando llame, denos tiempo
para tener al niño(a) listo(a). Tendra que ir a la oficina para firmar de que esta
sacando al estudiante. Por razones de seguridad, no se le dejara ir al niño con
nadie que no este en la tarjeta de emergencias.
LLEGANDO POR LA MAÑANA
Los estudiantes tienen que llegar a las 8:40 A.M. Supervision en disponible a
esta hora. Porfavor no deje a su hijo antes. Ya que no habra supervision. Favor
de acercarse a la cadena y una maestra ayudara a su hijo a salir del carro para ir
al patio. Por favor no se estacione y permita a su estudiante para cruzar el
parqueadero solo. Los estudiante se forman en el patio y esperan por el timbre
de las 8:45 A.M.
PROCEDIMIENTO DE SALIDA DE LOS QUE CAMINAN A CASA
Las maestras sacaran a las clases de kinder y primer grado por la puerta oeste
que se encuentra por el gimnasio y kinder. Las maestras sacaran a los de
segundo y quinto grado por las puertas de enfrente, las principales.
Despues podran recoger a los hermanitos u otros familiares por las puertas
correspondientes.
PROCEDIMIENTO DE SALIDA DE LOS QUE SE VAN EN CARRO
Los estudiantes esperaran por su carro en la puerta del gimnasio. Los padres
seran dirijidos a la puerta del gimnasio. Este es el nuevo procedimiento que se
implemento el año pasado. Los maestros se encargaran de ayudar a los
estudiantes. Porfavor siga las instrucciones para evitar accidentes.
Si su hijo se va en carro y le gustaria recoger a su hijo adentro de la escuela, la
puerta se habrira a las 3:30 P.M. Cuando entre vaya directo al gimnasio por su
hijo. La puerta no se habrira hasta las 3:30 P.M. Le agradecemos su paciencia.
