KEY NOTE PRESENTATION
18:20 –

THE M&A MARKET IS HEATING UP IN LATIN AMERICA
Most M&A investors in Latin America are building businesses across the region rather
than in a single country, and some countries, such as Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, are
garnering more interest from investors than others. Also, some specific industries,
including energy, financial services, health care, and telecommunications are stealing the
spotlight.
DISCUSSION TOPICS:
ü  Emerging markets in comparison to developed markets with respect to private
equity fundraising, investment levels, and fund performance.
ü  The attractiveness of investing in emerging markets, in particular Mexico, and the
remaining challenges.
ü  Cross border M&A in a globalized world: confronting issues regarding jurisdiction
and regulations, and the push for increased transparency
ü  The expansion of co-investments and the increasing presence and role of venture
capital
