Mountain top experiences are not
meant to last.
Experiencias en la cima de la
montaña no están supuesto a
durar.
I. Jesus saves the Disciples – vs. 14-16
I. Jesús salva a los Discípulos vs. 14-16
Jesus drew the attention from the
disciples to HIMSELF.
Jesús redirigió la atención de los
discípulos hacia SI MISMO.
Jesus asked them, "What are you
discussing?"
Jesús les pregunto, “Que están
discutiendo?”
Too often the world comes to the doorstep
of the church and finds us arguing and
powerless to help.
Con demasiada frecuencia, el mundo llega
a las puertas de la iglesia y nos encuentra
discutiendo y sin poder ayudar.
II. Jesus soothes the Dad – vs. 17-18
II. Jesus calma al Padre – vs. 17-18
He pays attention to the real issue.
El le presta atención al verdadero
asunto.
III. Jesus starts the DELIVERANCE
vs. 19-20
III. Jesús comienza la LIBERACIÓN
vs. 19-20
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
14And
when He came to the disciples,
He saw a great multitude around
them, and scribes disputing with
them.
15Immediately,
when they saw Him,
all the people were greatly amazed,
and running to Him, greeted Him
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
16And
He asked the scribes, “What are
you discussing with them?”
17Then
one of the crowd answered
and said, “Teacher, I brought You my
son, who has a mute spirit.
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
18And
wherever it seizes him, it
throws him down; he foams at the
mouth, gnashes his teeth, and
becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your
disciples, that they should cast it out,
but they could not.”
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
19He
answered him and said, “O
faithless generation, how long shall I
be with you? How long shall I bear
with you? Bring him to Me.”
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
20Then
they brought him to Him. And
when he saw Him, immediately the
Spirit convulsed him, and he fell on
the ground and wallowed, foaming at
the mouth.
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
21So
He asked his father, “How long
has this been happening to him?”
And he said, “From childhood.
22And often he has thrown him both
into the fire and into the water to
destroy him. But if You can do
anything, have compassion on us and
help us.”
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
23Jesus
said to him, “If you can
believe, all things are possible to him
who believes.”
24Immediately
the father of the child
cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I
believe; help my unbelief!”
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
25When
Jesus saw that the people
came running together, He rebuked
the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf
and dumb spirit, I command you,
come out of him and enter him no
more!”
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
26Then
the spirit cried out, convulsed
him greatly, and came out of him.
And he became as one dead, so that
many said, “He is dead.”
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
27But
Jesus took him by the hand and
lifted him up, and he arose.
28And
when He had come into the
house, His disciples asked Him
privately, “Why could we not cast
it out?”
Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
29So
He said to them, “This kind can
come out by nothing but prayer and
fasting.”
WE must turn what we have over to
Jesus, and trust in Him to do the
impossible while we wait for His
timing.
Tenemos que entregarle a Jesús lo
que tenemos, y confiar que El va
hacer lo imposible mientras
esperamos por su tiempo.
Prayer and fasting are weapons in
spiritual warfare and deliverance.
La oración y el ayuno son armas de
guerra espiritual y liberación.
When we pray and fast we bring matters
before God in humble submission and seek
Him to deal with them in His power and
might and His timing.
Cuando oramos y ayunamos traemos los
asuntos ante Dios en humilde sumisión, y
le pedimos que el se haga cargo de ellos
por medio de su poder y fuerza y a su
tiempo.
The outcome of prayer and fasting is
twofold:
First according to His will we will see
victory and deliverance over matters
being submitted to him.
Second, we draw closer to God,
experiencing His grace, love and
power.
Matthew 17:20 NKJV
If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed,
ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Move
from here to there,’ and it will move; (if
you have faith) nothing will be impossible
for you.
Si tienes fe como un grano de mostaza le
dirías a esta montaña, ‘Muévete de aquí
para allá’ y se moverá; (si tienes fe) nada
será imposible para ti.
There are 3 things we all share:
1.  WE all have genuine needs
2. WE all have insufficient resources
3. WE all have to bring it to Jesus
I.
Our Faith is increased when we
gather – vs.14
I.
Nuestra Fe se incrementa cuando
nos reunimos – vs.14
Mark 9:14 NKJV
And when He came to the disciples,
He saw a great multitude around
them, and scribes disputing with
them.
Cuando llegó a donde estaban los
discípulos, vio una gran multitud
alrededor de ellos, y escribas que
discutían con ellos.
Matthew 18:20 NKJV
“For where two or three come
together in my name, there am I with
them.”
“Porque donde están dos o tres
congregados en mi nombre, allí estoy
yo en medio de ellos.”
Our faith can be strong in the power
of Christ because we know wherever
HIS people gather, He shows up.
Nuestra fe puede ser fuerte en el
poder de Cristo, porque sabemos que
donde Su gente se reúne, él aparece.
II. We must see below the surface
when we gather – vs. 21-22A
II. Debemos ver debajo de la
superficie cuando nos reunimos.
– vs. 21-22A
Mark 9:21-22a NKJV
21So
He asked his father, “How long
has this been happening to him?”
And he said, “From childhood.
22And
often he has thrown him both
into the fire and into the water to
destroy him. But if You can do
anything, have compassion on us and
help us.”
Look at the question Jesus asks,
“How long has this been going on?”
Observen la pregunta que Jesús
pregunta, “Hace cuanto que esto le
sucede”
ANSWER:
This has been going on from
childhood.
This causes extreme behavior
swings.
This is something that is affecting
more than him.
Today’s QUESTIONS:
How long have I been struggling with
________?
How extreme is my behavior?
How is this affecting the people around
me?
To EVALUATE or CONSIDER the lessons
to be gathered from the situations we
are in.
Para EVALUAR o CONSIDERAR las
lecciones que se deben de aprender de
las situaciones en que nos encontramos
III. When we gather we must remember
that He is our only HELP – vs. 24
III. Cuando nos reunimos debemos
recordar que El es nuestra única
AYUDA. – vs. 24
Mark 9:24 NKJV
24Immediately
the father of the child
cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I
believe; help my unbelief!”
24Inmediatamente
el padre del
muchacho clamó y dijo: “Creo; ayuda
mi incredulidad.”
“True faith is always aware how small
and inadequate it is. The father
becomes a believer not when he
amasses a sufficient quantum of faith
but when he risks everything on
what little faith he has,
when he yields his insufficiency to
the true sufficiency of Jesus, “ ‘I do
believe; help me overcome my
unbelief!’ ”
The risk of faith is more costly to the
father than bringing his son to Jesus, for
he can talk about his son but he must “cry
out” for faith.
El riesgo de la Fe le cuesta mas al padre
que simplemente traer su hijo a Jesús,
porque el puede hablar de su hijo pero
debe “clamar” por Fe.
True faith takes no confidence in
itself, nor does it judge Jesus by the
weakness of his followers.
La verdadera fe no toma confianza en
sí misma, ni juzga a Jesús por la
debilidad de sus seguidores.
It looks to (HIM) the More Powerful
One…, whose authoritative word
restores life from chaos.
Le busca a (El) el que es Mas
Fuerte…, que por medio de su
palabra autoritativa restaura la vida
del caos.
True faith is unconditional openness to
God, a decision in the face of all to the
contrary that Jesus is able.
(Edwards, James R.: The Gospel According to Mark. Grand Rapids, Mich;
Leicester, England: Eerdmans; Apollos, 2002 (The Pillar New Testament
Commentary), S. 278)
La verdadera fe es la apertura
incondicional a Dios, una decisión en el
rostro de todo lo que contradice que
Jesús es capaz.
IV. When we gather in FAITH, Jesus
makes all things possible – vs. 25-27
IV. Cuando nos reunimos en Fe, Jesús
hace todas las cosas posibles.
– vs. 25-27
Mark 9:25-27 NKJV
25When
Jesus saw that the people
came running together, He rebuked
the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf
and dumb spirit, I command you,
come out of him and enter him no
more!”
Mark 9:25-27 NKJV
26Then
the spirit cried out, convulsed
him greatly, and came out of him.
And he became as one dead, so that
many said, “He is dead.”
27But
Jesus took him by the hand and
lifted him up, and he arose.
Mark 9:28-29 NKJV
V.  Prayer and Fasting increase our
FAITH to bring it to JESUS
– vs. 28-29
V.  El Ayuno y la Oración incrementa
nuestra FE para traerlo a Jesús.
– vs. 28-29
Mark 9:28-29 NKJV
28And
when He had come into the
house, His disciples asked Him
privately, “Why could we not cast
it out?”
29So
He said to them, “This kind can
come out by nothing but prayer and
fasting.”
