West Side Transit Enhancement Study Survey In this packet you will find:
• Survey Instructions • West Side Transit Enhancement Study (WSTES) Information Sheet o English o Somali o Spanish o Vietnamese • WSTES Survey o English o Somali o Spanish o Vietnamese Intro: This brief survey was created to obtain anecdotal information on how residents use and view transit in West Denver. The collected survey responses will be used to help inform recommendations included in the West Side Transit Enhancement Study (WSTES). This activity is part of the Denver Livability Partnership, which is supported by federal grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The WSTES study has two phases. The first will focus on strengthening transit connections within Denver’s West Side neighborhoods and to the rest of the region. The study will identify ways to improve transit service and enhance connections between the West Side and the new West Corridor and existing Central Corridor light rail lines. The second phase will include a multi‐modal infrastructure assessment of current RTD facilities to identify potential physical improvements that can better connect west side populations to transit stops. The goal of this year‐long effort is to identify strategies for the west side that improve access to jobs, recreation, education, and other services and opportunities. Survey Directions: The survey should only take approximately 5‐10 minutes to complete. The survey was designed to be self‐administered but it is preferred that you hand out and then collect the completed surveys rather than relying on respondents to return them on their own. Below are some directions and tips for administering the survey: West Side Transit Enhancement Study Survey Step 1 

Have respondents write down where they live or work in the West Side. If they are uncomfortable with writing their address, they may simply write a nearby intersection or landmark (i.e. Avanza Supermarket, Fire Station #23, etc) A reference map is located on the opposite side of the survey to help respondents locate themselves. Step 2 


Respondents should identify three places they visit often (not necessarily only by transit but also the places they visit walking, biking, or in their automobiles) Possible destinations include work, school, the grocery store or market, etc. Please encourage respondents to be as detailed as possible when they name and indicate locations for each of these places. Respondents are invited to check multiple boxes for time of day as well as for which mode(s) they use. (i.e. if they both bike and drive to a given destination) Step 3 

The questions in this section are meant to inform which tradeoffs West Side stakeholders value regarding transit service. Please make sure respondents only select one response for these questions..
