Students in 9th and 10th grade who are interested in participating in the Teen TrendSetters program,
contact Mr. Teegarden (office #103). Students may earn community service hours by helping to teach
reading to elementary school students during the regular school day in the afternoon.
Students interested in UIL competitions in "Debate" and/or "Spelling & Vocabulary," contact Mr. Teegarden.
Students will attend training/discussion meetings and prepare for competitions, the earliest one is in
December.
Students in any grade who are interested in joining the Congressional Award Program, contact Mr.
Teegarden (office #103). Students may earn certificates or medals from the United States Congress with
their participation in four areas: personal development, physical fitness, voluntary public service, and
expedition/exploration.
We have school wide
testing on October 15th,
2014. 9th, 10th, and 11th
grades are taking the
PSAT and 12th grade is
taking the SAT. SAT
testing rooms will be
closed at 8:00AM, so if
students arrive after 8:
00AM, they won't be
able to test.

This past Saturday 58 students, 1
principal, 3 teachers, and several
parents gathered together as The
Walking Tigers to participate in
the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The
team had a great time as they
walked a 5k around downtown
Dallas to show their support in
finding a cure for the disease.
HSA-Dallas High School’s Student
Council was able to raise over
$2,600 to donate to the Alzheimer’s
Association with donations made
from students, teachers, and
parents. Thanks again to all those
involved and congratulations to
HSA-Dallas’ Student Council, whose
hard work helped to make this
fundraiser a huge success!
School will be closed
on October 13th due to
staff development.
Are you interested in earning
money for your school
activities? Starting October 8,
students may participate in the
World’s Finest Chocolate
fundraiser. Each student who
participates will start with 1
box (60 bars) after turning in a
permission slip. When you turn
in your money for a box, you
may take another box to sell,
but a new permission slip is
required for each additional
box of chocolate. Students can
turn in a permission slip to the
Front Office at any time to
receive more boxes of
chocolate. Each box sold will
earn a profit of $30 for the
student.
Senior Picnic at Huffhines Park: On Wednesday, October 15, HSA-Dallas’ seniors will be going to a
picnic. Rides will be provided to and from the picnic. Departure from HSA Dallas will be at 12:30pm. The
students will return to school at 3:00PM and continue their school schedule.
We will have a high school band informational assembly on Friday, Oct. 10, during 7th and 8th period. High school band will be
open to all students 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. Any parent who wishes to sign up his or her child for band will need to attend the
Band Parent Meeting on Thursday, October 16 at 3:45pm. Band class will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays after school beginning
October 21.

Los estudiantes del noveno y décimo grado que estén interesados ​en participar en el programa de

El pasado Sábado 58 estudiantes, 1
director, 3 maestros y varios padres
se reunieron como Los Tigres
Caminantes para participar en la
Caminata Para Poner Fin a la
Enfermedad de Alzheimer. El equipo
disfrutaron caminar 5 kilómetros en
el centro de Dallas para mostrar su
apoyo en la búsqueda de una cura
para la enfermedad. El Consejo
Estudiantil de la secundaria de HSADallas recaudo más de $ 2,600 para
donar a la Asociación de Alzheimer
con donaciones de los estudiantes,
maestros y padres. Gracias de nuevo
a todos los participantes y
felicitaciones al Consejo Estudiantil
de HSA-Dallas cuyo trabajo ayudó a
hacer esta recaudación de fondos
un gran éxito!
La escuela estará cerrada
el 13 de Octubre para
proveer desarrollo a los

para sus actividades escolares? A
partir del 8 de Octubre los
estudiantes pueden participar en
World’s Finest Chocolate para
recaudar fondos. Cada estudiante
que participa comenzará con 1
caja (60 bares) después de entregar

entregue su dinero de una caja,
puede tomar otra caja pero se
requiere una nueva forma de
permiso por cada caja adicional de
chocolate. Los estudiantes pueden
convertir en una hoja de permiso a

chocolate. Cada caja tendrá una
ganancia de $30 por estudiante.
Dia de Campo para los de Último Año: en parke Huffhines el Miércoles, 15 de Octubre los del grado 12 se iran a un picnic.
El viaje será proporcionados por la escuela. La salida de HSA Dallas será a las 12:30PM. Los estudiantes regresarán a la
escuela a las 3:00PM y continuarán su día escolar.
Vamos a tener una asamblea informativa para banda de la escuela secundaria el Viernes 10 de Octubre durante el séptimo y
octavo período. Esta actividad estará abierta a todos los estudiantes de 9º, 10º y 11º grado. Cualquier padre que desee inscribirse
a su hijo para la banda tendrá que asistir a la reunión de padres el Jueves 16 de Octubre a las 3:45PM. La clase de banda se
llevará a cabo los Martes y Viernes después de clases a partir del 21 de Octubre.
