photos, photocopies, mailing, and following up with your application. Find out if you are qualified
for the $680 application fee waiver.
CITIZENSHIP CLASSES - Open enrollment on day of class
Saturdays:
10:00 – 12:00 p.m. Albany Branch, 1250 Albany Avenue
1:30 -3:30 p.m. Downtown, 500 Main Street
9:30 – 11:30 Downtown (In Spanish for language waiver applicants)
Monday:
6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Downtown
CITIZENSHIP BENEFITS
Vote; Run for office; Sponsor family members; Travel with a U.S. Passport; Obtain government
benefits; Apply for federal jobs; Apply for college scholarships.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS





Be age 18 or older
Be a permanent resident for 5 years or 3 if married to a U.S. Citizen.
Be a person of good moral character
Have a period of continuous residence and physical presence in the U.S.
Be able to read, write, and speak basic English; Exceptions: 55 years of age and 15 years with
Green Card OR 50 years of age and 20 years with Green Card OR Medical Waiver.
Hartford Public Library is recognized by the US Department of Justice, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)

CUALIFICACIONES BÁSICAS





Sea mayor de 18 años
Ser residente permanente por 5 años o 3 si está casado con un ciudadano
estadounidense.
Ser una persona de buen carácter moral
Tener un período de residencia continua y presencia física en los EE.UU.
Poder leer, escribir y hablar Inglés básico; Excepciones: 55 años de edad y 15
años de edad con Tarjeta de Residencia o 50 años de edad y 20 años de
