The guidelines reflect a minimal level of research performance and should not be seen as constituting targets that in anyway guarantee performance levels. These guidelines are not tied to any personnel decisions concerning confirmation of appointment, tenure or promotion. Such decisions need to be considered within the context of individual and disciplinary circumstances. That is, confirmation of appointments and promotion will not be made on the basis of the minimum research guidelines. Guidelines are as follows: a. Level E faculty (Professor) – over a two year period at least i. One tier 1 or 2 publication; and ii. One discovery or linkage ARC grant submitted iii. One tier 3 or above peer-reviewed paper published with a more junior colleague b. Level D faculty (Associate Professor) – over a two year period at least i. One tier 2 journal publication; and ii. One tier 3 journal publication c. Level C (Senior Lecturer) – over a two year period at least i. Two tier 3 journal publications d. Level B (Lecturer greater than 3 years post PhD) – over a two year period at least i. One tier 3 journal publication; and ii. One tier 4 peer-reviewed journal publication – over a three year period at least e. Level B (Lecturer post PhD) – i. One tier 3 or better journal publication; and ii.
