I COLOQUIO DOCTORAL AECIT
El objetivo del I Coloquio Doctoral de AECIT es establecer un espacio de diálogo entre
estudiantes de doctorado y diferentes investigadores. Pretende ser un foro de debate
constructivo, orientado a mejorar los proyectos de tesis doctorales y a fomentar la
cooperación entre doctorandos de distintas universidades.
El Coloquio es una oportunidad para discutir sus proyectos de investigación sobre turismo,
objeto que se aborda desde perspectivas, disciplinas y enfoques distintos.
Se dará preferencia a los estudiantes que estén en un estadio avanzado de sus trabajos, por
ejemplo, que estén en la fase final de sus investigaciones y se seleccionarán los trabajos que
estén en un fase avanzada y que presenten objetivos y estrategias claras.
El Comité de Dirección del Coloquio seleccionará unos 15 participantes que harán una breve
presentación de sus trabajos durante la celebración del Coloquio, a lo que seguirá los
comentarios del relator/relatores y un tiempo de debate entre los asistentes.
Asimismo tendrán la oportunidad de presentar un poster que será expuesto en la sede del
Congreso de AECIT y que permitirá ampliar la difusión de los trabajos y las discusiones sobre
sus contenidos con los participantes del Congreso.

Discusión de tesis
Los estudiantes interesados en participar deberán enviar un archivo PDF que contenga tres
documentos:
1. Descripción de la investigación doctoral con las siguientes cuestiones:
• Nombre completo y nombre del director/a de tesis y Universidad
• Breve resumen del trabajo y descripción del momento concreto en que se
encuentra la investigación.
• Contribuciones que se espera conseguir
• Referencias bibliográficas significativas
• Este resumen debería también incluir una abstracción o más de 100 palabras que
pudieran incorporarse en el programa general del Congreso de AECIT
2. Un breve currículum vitae
3. carta del director o directora de la tesis indicando que apoya a su presentación de la
investigación en el Coloquio y que está de acuerdo en que el trabajo tiene un nivel de
desarrollo adecuado para su debate.
El archivo PDF llevará por nombre APELLIDO_AECIT2016.pdf (sustituyendo la palabra apellido
por el del autor) y se enviará a la dirección [email protected] señalando en el
asunto: “AECIT 2016 Coloquio Doctoral”.
Las propuestas podrán presentarse antes del 30 de mayo de 2016.
Exposición de pósteres
Durante esta sesión se expondrán los postres de aquellos estudiantes de doctorado que así lo
deseen. El conjunto de los participantes en el Congreso pueden de este modo interactuar con
los autores.
Los pósteres serán en tamaño A0 (841 x 1189 mm).
Los participantes deben traerlos impresos. Lamentablemente el Coloquio doctoral no se hará
cargo de la impresión de los trabajos.
Por favor envíe en formato PDF su poster para que pueda ser proyectado durante una
pequeña presentación.
Recomendaciones para la realización del póster:
1. No introducir excesiva información.
2. Emplear esquemas, gráficos, figuras, fotos, etc.
3. Utilizar un tamaño de letra relativamente grande.
4. Utilizar colores para diferenciar las partes y resaltar lo más relevante.

I AECIT DOCTORAL COLLOQUIUM
The Doctoral Colloquium is a forum in which Ph.D. students meet and discuss their
work with each other and a panel of researchers. The colloquium provides outstanding
doctoral students in tourism with an opportunity to discuss their dissertation research
with other doctoral students and others academics in the field of tourism. We
welcome applicants from a broad range of disciplines and approaches including
anthropology, economy, sociology, organizational studies, marketing, and others
fields.
Applicants should be Ph.D. students with an already well-established direction of
research. Preference will be given to students who have a defined topic and program
of work e.g., those who are half way through a 3 (or 4) year program. Our selection
process emphasizes scholarly maturity, particularly dissertation plans that are
reasonably advanced and clearly presented.
The Colloquium committee will select approximately 15 participants who will be
expected to give short presentations of their work during the Colloquium, to be
followed by group discussions. Participants will also present their research in an
interactive poster session during the main program of the conference.

Applicants should submit the following items by email to [email protected] with
the subject line “AECIT 2016 Colloquium Submission."
All items below should be collated into one PDF file named YOURNAME_CSAECIT2016.pdf
(substitute your full name where it reads YOURNAME):
1. A FOUR-page overview of your doctoral research that describes:
• research question
• work in progress
• expected contributions
• Relevant references.
• This overview should also include an abstract of no more than 100 words that will be
published in the Conference Program
2. An up-to-date curriculum vitae.
3. A letter from your supervisor/s indicating that they support your application to the
colloquium and that they agree that your research is at an appropriate stage for
participation.
All submissions must be received by the chairs byMay, 30 th.
Poster session:
During this part of the session Congress assistances will view posters and interact with the
authors. Please be prepared to be present at your poster throughout this part of the session.
The poster boards will be A0 (841 x 1189 mm).
Please bring handouts of your poster. Unfortunately, we cannot print anything at the
conference venue.
Please email a PDF of your poster to us before the meeting so that we can project it during the
ultra-short presentation.
Some tips:
Create a prominent label for the top of your display, giving the title of your paper and
authors’ names. Keep in mind that you’re trying to draw an audience from away.
• Prepare the remainder of your display for reading at arm’s length, using not very small
letters
• Determine the key points of your paper and highlight these, rather than trying to cover the
whole paper.
• Use display elements — bullets, enumeration, tables, clip art, graphs, figures, photos –
rather than paragraph style, to get across your most salient points in a clear and concise
manner.
