Guidelines for reports to be submitted as requirement for the course BIND 5005
1. Student must consult research mentor on the potential to implement research goals for this
course. Students must have in mind that the research is the intellectual property of their
research mentor; therefore, the student should have the mentor’s authorization to work out
the progress and final reports.
2. By mid‐term the student must submit a progress report and an assessment of his/her
experiences so far in the semester as shown below:
a. Progress report format: Times New Roman, font 12, double space.
b. Contents:
i. Title page
ii. Abstract
iii. Discussion of results obtained so far, or proposed work, otherwise.
iv. Recommendations
v. Conclusions
vi. References
vii. Appendix: Assessment Tables as shown below
Table A.1: Using the table provided identify knowledge acquired as part of the
internship to assess the level of mastering of it (1‐poor, 5 excellent)

3. End of semester final report submission

vi. References (no more than 10% from internet, no less than 90% from scientific
literature)
vii. Appendix – Assessment Tables as shown below:

Recommendations: Before submitting your progress and final reports, consult with your research
mentor about their contents. The information and/or data you will be submitting is an intellectual
property of your mentor, so student should have mentor’s authorization to work out the report
contents.
Progress and final reports should have the suggested format and each one constitute 50% of your
final grade.
