Notice of Availability of Draft Environmental Impact Report for The Los Angeles
Mission College Facilities Master Plan
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) and the Los Angeles Mission College
(LAMC) have formulated a plan for the future educational space needs of Mission College
through 2015. The proposed project, the Los Angeles Mission College Facilities Master Plan
is a phased development program that would improve and expand the College on the existing
campus site and on a new site located 1/3 mile to the east at the corner of Eldridge Ave and
Harding Street in Sylmar, CA.
A Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) has been prepared for the Master
Plan and its associated projects. Unavoidable significant environmental impacts are expected
related to air quality, traffic, land use, and aesthetics. The Draft EIR is now available for a 45day public review period ending on December 4, 2006. The LAMC will hold two public meetings
on the Draft EIR during the 45-day review period:

sobre Impacto Ambiental
El proyecto, que ha sido denominado Los Ángeles Mission College Facilities Master
Plan (Plan Maestro de la Universidad Los Ángeles Mission College) es un programa
de desarrollo por etapas cuyo objetivo es ampliar y mejorar las instalaciones de la
universidad.
El propósito de esta notificación pública del Proyecto es para determinar si es adecuado
el Informe sobre Impacto Ambiental (DEIR, por sus siglas en inglés) que ha sido
elaborado por el Plan Maestro del Colegio Mission College (LAMC-por sus siglas en
inglés). El proyecto ha sido presentado al Distrito de Colegios Comunitarios de Los
Ángeles para su revisión y subsiguiente aprobación.
En estas juntas el Distrito presentara a la reunión pública los asuntos a los que se refiere
el Proyecto mencionado. La reunión ofrecerá una oportunidad para que el publico provee
comentarios sobre el analices presentado en el documento.
El Borrador del Impacto Ambiental esta disponible en la biblioteca del Colegio Mission
College o en el sitio Web de www.lamission.edu y en las siguientes bibliotecas.

The purpose of these meetings is to provide the public an opportunity to learn about the
Master Plan refinement and to provide comments on the adequacy of the EIR under California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

At the meetings, LAMC will briefly present the Mission College Master Plan and the findings
of the Draft EIR. Following this presentation, the public will be invited to provide comments on
the adequacy of the analysis in the Draft EIR.

Following public review of the Draft EIR, the Final Program EIR will then be prepared, including
responses to comments, and provided to the LACCD Board of Trustees for certification of
compliance with CEQA and for review and consideration as part of the decision-making process
for the proposed Master Plan.

devices are available with a 24-hour advance notice. Please contact Ms. Michele Walters to
