Winds of Change
T
he winds of winter have blown through Ortonville and so have the winds of change.
This year, we anticipate record productivity at Ortonville after completing a
primary circuit overhaul and modification. The primary plant was actually designed to be
portable; it was first installed in Herndon, Virginia in 1967 for a 1.5 million ton job at
Dulles Airport. The plant then moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for the 2 million ton
Beaver Dam project for the Corps of Engineers. Finally in 1970, this behemoth 56’x72’
Traylor Jaw and 7’ Symons Cone put down roots in Ortonville. After 46 years and many
rebuilds, this plant is surely our best example of how to purchase and assemble equipment
that will last three generations!

Despite the never-ending winter, the primary plant has undergone a transformation with the addition of a crusher and scalping screen to
the circuit as well as refurbishing the two existing crushers.

The smaller surge rock produced will run through the secondary plant approximately 20% faster. The increased productivity is welcome
news as the sales forecast looks strong. We are proud of Mark Block, Kurt Stoel and Mark “Chuck” Hughes who led a highly
coordinated Rock Solid construction effort that included LGE teammates Chris Kranzler, Lance Pollman, Lee Saude, Lee Reed and
subcontractors ARC Fabricators, Malloy Electric and Hasslen Construction.
We are pleased to announce the promotion of Rick Everist III to Plant Superintendent at Ortonville. Please join me in welcoming Rick
to the Ortonville team.

Vientos de Cambio
os vientos de invierno han soplado a través de Ortonville y también los vientos del
cambio. Este año, anticipamos la productividad récord en Ortonville después de
completar una revisión y modificación del circuito primario. La planta principal fue en
realidad diseñado para ser portátil, sino que se instaló por primera vez en Herndon,
