The City of Yuma will offer a drop-off site for Christmas
trees recycling.
Christmas tree recycling will begin on Tuesday, Dec.
27 at 265 W. 13th St. (13th Street and 2nd Avenue).
Please be sure to remove all lights, ornaments, and
tinsel. Artificial trees will not be accepted.
This is the same location where you may drop off other
recyclable items, such as paper, cardboard, aluminum,
clear plastic and metal. The Christmas Tree Recycling
Program hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 27-30 and 7 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Jan. 3-6, 2012.Additionally, those who miss the
Jan. 6 deadline for dropping off trees at the City site or
those closer to this location may use Yuma County's North
Gila Transfer Site, which will be open weekdays from 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. from Dec. 26-31 and Jan. 2-15.
R. and L. Garcia , plus their two children received a Section 8 Voucher November 2004. Mr. Garcia enrolled in the FSS program 2009. Mr. Garcia committed to completing the following FSS goals: complete all GED requirements and successfully
pass the exam, gain full-time employment, establish credit, and save for the down payment on a house. At this time, Mr. Garcia was working part time at a local packing company. Within a year of becoming an FSS participant, he completed all
goals. He obtain his GED, gained full-time employment earning and saved $1600 through the Yuma Neighborhood Development Organization (YNDO) and received $4,000 in match funds for down payment. He paid off all accounts which improved
his credit score to what is required. He was approved for a mortgage loan through ERA Mortgage therefore buying a 3 bedroom 2 bath house selling for $78,000. Mr. Garcia invested $1,000 down from his own funds, plus utilized the 4,000 YNDO
grant, to finally obtain a mortgage loan. The Garcia family is fully self-sufficient and are proud tax-paying homeowners.
The 12 week parenting class was a success, there were
10 graduates. A new class will be offered the first week

course. The class consist of; child development, stages
of growth, discipline, routines, environment, nutrition,
relation between caregivers and parents, CPR/first aid,
health and safety, lecture, and fundamentals. The class
offers many benefits to participants.

La ciudad de Yuma ofrecerá reciclaje para árboles de navidad.
Reciclaje para árboles de Navidad comenzará el Martes, 27
de diciembre en 265 W. 13th St. (calle 13 y la avenida segunda).
Por favor, asegúrese de quitar todas las luces, adornos
y oropeles. Los árboles artificiales no serán aceptados.
Este es el mismo lugar donde usted puede dejar otros artículos reciclables, como papel, cartón, aluminio, plástico y
metal. El horario de reciclaje será de 7 a.m.-4 p.m. del 27 al
30 de Diciembre. Enero 3-6 del 2012 7 a.m.-4pm. Aquellos
que pierdan la fecha limite 06 de Enero, 2012 podrán dejar
los árboles en el sitio de la ciudad o lo más cercanos a su
ubicación. El Condado de Yuma al sitio Norte de Gila Transfer, estará abierto entre semana de 8 a.m.-5 p.m. a 26-31
diciembre y enero 2-15.
R. y L. García, además de sus dos hijos, recibieron asistencia de Sección 8 en Noviembre de 2004. El Sr. García se inscribió en el
programa FSS en 2009. El Sr. García se comprometido a completar los objetivos siguientes de FSS: completar todos los requisitos
de GED y pasar exitosamente el examen, el aumento de empleo a tiempo completo, establecer crédito, y ahorrar para el pago inicial de una casa. En aquel momento, el Sr. García estaba trabajando a tiempo parcial en una empresa de embalaje local. Dentro de
un año de convertirse en un participante FSS, completó todos los objetivos. El obtener su GED, obtuvo empleo a tiempo completo
ganando y ahorro $ 1,600 a través de la Organización para el Desarrollo de Yuma (YNDO) y recibió $4,000 en fondos de para el
enganche inicial. El pagó todas las cuentas por lo cual mejoró su puntaje de crédito a lo requerido. Fue aprobado para un préstamo
hipotecario a través de ERA Mortgage por lo tanto, la compra de una venta de 3 dormitorios y 2 baños de la casa por $78.000. El
Sr. García invirtió $1,000 por debajo de sus propios fondos, además de utilizar los $4,000 de YNDO, para finalmente obtener un
préstamo hipotecario. La familia García es totalmente auto-suficiente y orgullosamente pagan impuesto de propiedad.
La clase de 12 cuidado infantil fue un éxito, hubo 10 graduados. Una nueva clase se ofrecerá la primera semana de
