Details should be provided in particular on: recognition and credit systems, the provision of information on curricula, information and counselling of outgoing students, tutoring and integration of incoming students, provision of student services (in particular accommodation), preparatory and refresher language courses, facilitation and acknowledgement of staff mobility. Quality of student placement activities: What kind of specific measures are implemented to ensure high quality in student placements? Give details on how the work-programme and the placement agreement are prepared and implemented. Please describe the practical arrangements agreed between the parties. Please specify also the monitoring and evaluation of the placement period as well as its recognition in the curriculum. In order to complete this section, please refer to the instructions given below. This school offers qualified instruction in different areas such as design, creation and plastic arts. Throughout its almost 40 years of existence, the school has known different pedagogical approaches, which have always been focused on direct instruction and practice in workshops. Orihuela- EASD, where most of the present professionals in the design have been educated, has always catered for all the needs of the local, social and cultural environment in order to meet the demand of the constant economic growth in the area, in the region, and particularly, in the Vega Baja of the Segura. The Orihuela School of Art and College of Design is a public centre which is dependent on the Valencian Generalitat, or Regional Government. The studies offered in the school are found within the area of the plastic arts and design regulated by LOE (Organic Law of Education. Law 2/2006, 3rd May.). The school has had a long experience both in the European programmes (Leonardo, Petra, and Comenius) and in the present intercultural reality, which will facilitate the necessary bilateral agreements with the European higher education centres within the framework of the Erasmus programmes of grants. Objectives: -To inform the students and teachers that the international mobility is a central value in the profile of our school. -To improve the quality of research, education and artistic activities by means of a close and firm international collaboration. -To give publicity to the international profile of our school. Priorities: -To reach and increase bilateral agreements, and make every effort to make them more effective. -To create a counseling service to orientate and guide both teachers and students about the possibilities of mobility. -To re-design our website in order to provide all the information about international mobility and exchanges, and publish the Erasmus University Charter and the Erasmus Policy Statement. -To create a general environment of study where international mobility is present. -To continue organizing seminars and workshops open to the public in general to promote LLP (Lifelong Learning Programme). -To give support to research-based teaching. -To contribute to a growing European citizenship. In our school a plan of accessibility has been designed to attend physical disabled people. Regarding those students with some other type of disability (dyslexia, stutter, etc.), the integration has also been a constant concern for the school. In fact the centre has an agreement with “Antonio Sequeros”, an education institution for the children with special needs, which is situated close to the school. Quality of academic mobility activities: What kind of specific measures are implemented in the institution to ensure highest quality in academic mobility activities? Details should be provided in particular on: recognition and credit systems, the provision of information on curricula, information and counselling of outgoing students, tutoring and integration of incoming students, provision of student services (in particular accommodation), preparatory and refresher language courses, facilitation and acknowledgement of staff mobility. 8 254686-IC-1-2009-1-ES-ERASMUS-EUCX-1 Imprimé le : 27-11-2008 13:04:39 - Soumis le : 27-11-2008 13:03:52 Students that take part in the exchange will receive both an Arrival and a Departure certificate. Every student will have to fill in a Study Agreement, where the number of ETCs, that the students will have to complete during their stay in the host university, will be specified. Those students who are interested in taking part in an exchange will be able to ask for information in the Erasmus office or to the teachers who are in charge of the Erasmus programmes. The candidate students will find all the information about the annual official announcement as well as all that can be of interest for them in our web too. The incoming students will be attended in the Erasmus office, which will provide both academic and practical information about the school, as well as about the town and its surroundings.Besides, the incoming students will also receive such information in their corresponding schools one month in advance. On the arrival of the students, the centre will organize a series of welcome activities which will include a visit to the Town hall, the historical town centre (cathedral, museums, etc.), library, university and the school itself. In collaboration with the Town hall, the Education and Youth City Councils, the school will organize an official welcome act, where an informative dossier will be given to all the Erasmus students. In addition to the Erasmus office, in each department there will be an Erasmus delegate-teacher who will facilitate the integration of the student in the academic life. Moreover from this office, and in collaboration with the Youth Council, the students will receive practical information about accommodation, either in university student residences in the town, or in flats to rent and /or to share. The school will also organize intensive Spanish courses (15-day courses) for Erasmus students. Besides, with the help of the Official School of Languages and other qualified institutions, additional information will be supplied to the students. The students who apply for our school will be asked to send a portfolio, a letter of motivation and a CV. This dossier will be sent to the Head of Department to be evaluated. Once the student has been admitted, he will get in contact with the Erasmus delegate-teachers who will help them to find the most suitable course and/or activities. Incoming students will be able to choose any subject within the whole educational offer of the school. Although every student will be advised to choose both practical subjects and workshops, they will be able to choose any theoretical subject as long as their language competence is good enough. Every student will have to fulfill 30 ECTs in a term; this information will be given to the Erasmus delegate-teacher of the corresponding Department. In order to settle new bilateral agreements, different procedures will be followed. All the agreements will have to take into account the number of students and the duration of their stay. Some of them will also consider the mobility of the teachers and/ or staff. When a new bilateral agreement is signed up we will ensure the highest degree of compatibility between both institutions; and to do this, we will visit them or they will be invited to visit us. Besides we will try to make the academic organization of the year suitable for those students interested in coming here (we recommend the last academic year). Every student will be tutored and monitored by the delegate-teacher who will give their evaluation to the Erasmus Coordinator. In case any problem occurred we would immediately report to the sending institution coordinator to solve it as soon as possible. Once the period of studies is finished, students will receive a certificate which will include a grade, the number of ECTs and the comments of the lecturer about their work. They will also be required to complete a questionnaire to let us know their level of satisfaction of their stay, which will help us to improve our mobility programme. 9 254686-IC-1-2009-1-ES-ERASMUS-EUCX-1 Imprimé le : 27-11-2008 13:04:39 - Soumis le : 27-11-2008 13:03:52 E3 ERASMUS Extended University Charter (Standard Charter and Student Placements) 2009/2010 - 2013/2014 The European Commission hereby awards this Charter to: UNIVERSITY of EUROPE (hereinafter "the Institution") The Institution agrees to comply with the following fundamental principles of Erasmus mobility: • Mobility shall be carried out only within prior inter-institutional agreements (in the case of student placements: within prior agreements between the Institution and the organisations where the placements are carried out); • No university fees for tuition, registration, examinations, access to laboratory and library facilities are to be charged to in-coming Erasmus students • Full recognition shall be given to students for satisfactorily completed activities specified in the compulsory Learning Agreements and Placement Agreements.
