“La Matriz de Insumo-Producto y el Sistema de Cuentas Nacionales de México que
produce el INEGI”.

RESUMEN
El seguimiento de la actividad económica en México es realizado por el Instituto Nacional
de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) a través del Sistema de Cuentas Nacionales de
México (SCNM), cuyo punto de inicio, a partir de la base 2003, son los Cuadros de Oferta
y Utilización (COU) y la matriz de insumo-producto, para un año de referencia.
En este documento se da cuenta de los cambios tecnológicos en el procesamiento de
datos y de las recomendaciones internacionales implementadas, como es el SCN 2008,
que han dado forma al SCNM y al actual cambio de año base 2008, que está por
concluirse. Se observa el uso que actualmente tienen las matrices insumo-producto
generadas, en el entorno del SCNM.
ABSTRACT
In Mexico the measurement of economic activity is in charge of the National Institute of
Statistic and Geography (INEGI, acronym in Spanish) through the Mexican National
Account System (SCNM, acronym in Spanish), whose starting point since 2003 base year
are the Supply and Use Tables (COU, acronym in Spanish) and the input-output matrix, for
a reference year.
This document is a brief review of the changes in data processing technological changes
and the international recommendations that were implemented, like the SNA 2008, which
have shaped the contemporary SCNM and the new base year 2008 to be finished this
year and as a conclusion, the importance of the IOT in the SCNM framework.
