"Taro. El eco de Manrique" En primera persona, el artista y
activista medioambiental César Manrique explica su particular
mundo en la isla de Lanzarote. Un visionario de la arquitectura
que supo crear belleza dónde no se creía que fuera posible. La
conciencia de una voz clave en el Ecologismo y la Arquitectura
mundial. Una película también sobre una isla mágica, un territorio
único que nos ayuda a entendernos mejor con la Naturaleza a
través de la relación del hombre con la adversidad. Documental
sobre el sueño del artista César Manrique de crear una isla
utópica en cuanto a modelo de desarrollo humano y turístico. La
historia de un filósofo de la arquitectura que influenció la
arquitectura mundial con su visionaria intervención en el paisaje.
In first person, the artist and environmental activist César Manrique
explains his particular world on the island of Lanzarote. A visionary of
architecture that created beauty where no one would think it was
possible. The conscience is a key voice in global environmentalism and
architecture. It is also a film about a magical island, a unique territory
that helps us to better understand nature through humanity's
relationship with adversity.

“Tata Cedrón, el regreso de Juancito Caminador” es un
documental que relata el regreso de Juan “Tata” Cedrón, uno de
los músicos más renovadores del Tango, quien, por razones
políticas, debe exiliarse en París. Tras vivir 30 años en Francia,
editar más de 30 discos y recorrer todo el continente europeo con
el tango, Cedrón decide regresar a la Argentina en busca de lo
que perdió pero nunca olvidó ¿Qué es lo que vino a buscar? La
cámara lo acompaña en una búsqueda que supera el retorno
físico a su ciudad: en este recorrido se entrelazan los relatos
biográficos y musicales, donde se presenta la historia de toda una
generación de artistas con los que compartió tantos momentos y
proyectos.

“Tata Cedron, the return of Juancito Caminador” is a documentary that
follows the return of Juan “Tata“ Cedrón, one of the most innovative
tango musicians who, for political reasons, had to exile in Paris. After
living in France for 30 years, editing more than 30 records and taking
tango across the whole European continent, Cedrón decides to return
to Argentina in search of what he lost but never forgot. What is it that
he came to look for? The camera goes by him while setting off on a

search that exceeds his return to the city: during this trip, biographical
and musical tales intertwined, where the story of a complete generation

Chino. 40 años de de cabaret, de varietés, de circo, de revista, de
canción española y pop. Realizamos “Un viaje a ninguna parte”,
pero con un destino tangible, el legado que dejó el Teatro Chino
en escritores, cineastas, cantantes, humoristas, malabaristas, y
sobre todo en el público que llenaba a rebosar su teatro
ambulante.
This documentary rescues Manolita Chen's Chinese Theatre from the
past. 40 years of cabaret, vaudeville, circus, variety, Spanish and pop
songs. "A trip to nowhere", but with a tangible target, the legacy left by
the Chinese Theatre in writers, film-makers, singers, comedians,
jugglers, and especially in the audience that filled this travelling theatre
to overflowing.

Tras pasar dos años en Londres, Hache regresa a casa. El
recuerdo de Babi lo ha acompañado todo este tiempo y teme el
momento de reencontrarse con ella. Pronto se da cuenta de que
las cosas han cambiado y de que, poco a poco, tendrá que
reconstruir su vida: hacer nuevos amigos, conseguir empleo,
empezar una nueva etapa... Cuando conoce a Gin, una chica
alegre y preciosa, cree que podrá volver a enamorarse. Pero no es
fácil olvidar a Babi y cuando, por casualidad, tropieza con ella
siente cómo todo su mundo se tambalea.... ¿Es posible revivir la
magia del primer amor?
After two years in London, Hache its coming home. The memory of
Babi has been with him all this time and he is afraid of their meeting.
Soon, he notice that things have changed and that sooner or later he
has to rebuilt his life: make new friends, find a job, and begin a new
stage… When he meets Gin, a cheerful and beautiful girl, he thinks he
can fall in love again. But its no easy to forget Babi, and when he
meets her by coincidence, he feels that all his world is woobling down.

Marielle Labèque, las pianistas más excepcionales de nuestro
tiempo, continúan enfrentándose a los más apasionantes
desafíos. Su amor y compromiso con la cultura española les lleva
a fijar su residencia artística en Valladolid durante la temporada
2011/2012, un desafío a la altura de los retos que ellas mismas se
imponen. España ha sido en muchas ocasiones el destino de las
aventuras artísticas del más célebre dúo pianístico del mundo. Su
nacimiento en la frontera vasco-francesa les otorgó una especial
sensibilidad hacia el arte y la cultura española que se ha
plasmado en cientos de triunfales experiencias. La residencia
artística en Valladolid es una ocasión excepcional para poder vivir
el fascinante universo creativo de las Labèque, su permanente
búsqueda de caminos en los que desarrollarse como artistas y
mujeres y su compromiso artístico y social con nuestro país. “The
Labèque Way” es un documental musical, un retrato de dos seres
excepcionales como artistas, como mujeres, como hermanas, que
nos permitirá conocerlas siguiéndolas durante las más variadas
aventuras artísticas y retos personales que deciden afrontar.

Part classical, part avant-garde, part flamenco, the legendary piano
duo Katia and Marielle Labèque are almost impossible to label. The
Labèque Way follows the unique pianists as they trace their Spanish
roots playing Ravel´s Bolero accomplishing with Basque percussion,
premiering a daring new concert they had been commissioned, and
taking part in the most diverse artistic and personal adventures.
Featuring friends and collaborators as Sir Simon Rattle, Semyon
Bichkov and Alessandro Baricco among others, the film includes
amazing performances of pieces by Mozart, Schubert, Ravel, Albeniz,
Golijov and Gershwin.

Opil, odia el pescado. Su madre, en un intento desesperado para
que deje de engullir comida basura, le sirve un plato especial: el
pez de los deseos. Pero él ya no cree en cuentos de hadas y se lo
toma a broma: “ojalá vengan unos mutantes extraterrestres y se
lleven todo el pescado del planeta”. A la mañana siguiente las
tropas del malvado Saturón, llegan con sus naves a la Tierra para
succionar todos los océanos y su pescado, crear el caos y dejar
al mundo al borde de la destrucción. Con la ayuda del Capitán
Caballa, su hija Marina y la Rapesa del Ducado Blanco, se
embarcará en una aventura disparatada donde deberá emplearse
a fondo para recuperar el pescado y salvar el planeta.
Opil doesn't eat fish. In a desperate attempt to stop him from wolfing
down junk food, his mother serves him a special dish: The wish fish.
But Opil no longer believes in fairy tale and takes it as a joke: “I hope
some mutant aliens come and take away all the fish on the planet”. The
following morning, the troops of evil Saturon arrive aboard their
spacecraft and suck out all the oceans, spreading chaos and
threatening the entire world. With the help of Captain Mackarel, his
daughter Marina and Lady Rapfish of the White Duchy, he is to embark
on a crazy adventure during which he will have to do his utmost to
recover the sea and save the planet.

Noitía, en la costa atlántica, en Galicia, a finales de los años
sesenta. Fins y Brinco son dos adolescentes con una relación de
amistosa rivalidad en medio de la cual se encuentra Leda, algo
mayor que ellos, que no tarda mucho en mostrar su preferencia
por Fins, al que arrastra a la búsqueda de los tesoros que los
naufragios arrojan a las playas, al tiempo que su relación pasa de
la amistad a la intimidad del primer amor. La relación de Fins y
Leda se interrumpe bruscamente cuando él se ve obligado a
marcharse del pueblo, tras la muerte de los padres de ambos en
un accidente mientras pescan con dinamita. Es la primera vez que
Malpica, el padre de Fins, ensaya tal modalidad prohibida. Cuando
vuelve, veinte años después, Fins, policía ahora, ve que todo ha
cambiado en Noitía: las tradicionales redes contrabandistas se
han reconvertido al narcotráfico, aunque siempre bajo el oscuro
control de Mariscal, el amante ante los ojos de todos de la madre
de Brinco, que oficia ahora de lugarteniente del mismo, y que ha
tenido un hijo con Leda. La vigilancia a que somete Fins a la
pareja va más allá de la investigación policial encomendada: los
viejos afectos, las lealtades, el cumplimiento del deber se
entremezclan y están presentes en todas las actitudes de los
personajes.

Todos tenemos un plan cuenta la historia de Agustín, un hombre
desesperado por abandonar lo que para él, después de años de
vivir en Buenos Aires, se ha ido convirtiendo en una existencia
frustrante. Luego de la muerte de su hermano gemelo, Pedro,
Agustín se propone comenzar una nueva vida tomando la
identidad de su hermano y regresando a la misteriosa región del
Delta, en el Tigre, donde los dos vivieron de pequeños. Sin
embargo, poco después de su regreso Agustín se encuentra
inadvertidamente envuelto en el peligroso mundo criminal del que
su hermano formaba parte.
Agustín, a man desperate to abandon what has gradually become a
frustrating existence after living for years in Buenos Aires. After Pedro's
death his twin brother, Agustín sets out to begin a new life assuming
Pedro's identity and returning to the mysterious Paraná Delta region,
which was the childhood of both brothers. However, shortly after his
return, Agustín is involuntarily involved in the dangerous world of
criminal that his brother had been part of.

Alicia, una niña malcriada de ciudad de 11 años, se ve obligada a
pasar el verano con una tía lejana que vive en una remota y
misteriosa isla. El primer contacto con la isla es descorazonador
para Alici. Pronto conoce a Fermín, un extraño personaje que la
divierte porque siempre tiene buenas y disparatadas ideas.
También a Tomás y Mima, los únicos niños del poblado. Poco a
poco, se va sintiendo más integrada con sus nuevos amigos. Una
extraña serie de acontecimientos se suceden en el poblado,
convirtiéndose Alicia en la protagonista del verano más insólito,
misterioso y emocionante de su vida.
Alicia, an over-indulged 11-year-old city girl, is forced to spend the
summer with a distant aunt who lives on a remote and mysterious
island. Alicia’s first contact with the island is disheartening. Soon,
however, she meets Fermín, an odd character who amuses her with
his fun and outrageous ideas. She also meets Tomás and Mima, the
only children who live in the town. Little by little, she begins to feel more
a part of the place with her new friends. A strange sequence of events
takes place in the settlement, making Alicia the centre of the most

descubriendo que antiguos amigos son los que segaron la vida
de sus colegas.
A film about guilt and blood-stained ideologies. A bomb explodes
during a press conference in the jungle between Nicaragua and Costa
Rica, killing more than 20 journalists. The Swedish journalist, Peter
Torbiörnsson tries to discover who is behind this terrorist attack and
end up discovering that his old friends are the ones who took his
colleagues' lives.

This is a documentary about an little known episode in the 1920s: the
cooperation between Spain and Germany to secretly manufacture the
most sophisticated weapons of the time. This film recovers an
extraordinary character, Horacio Echevarrieta, who participated in the
origin of the company's Iberia and Iberdrola and of Madrid's main
thoroughfare the Gran Vía, and his empire risked everything to realize
his dream of building the best boat that had ever sailed.

Un viaje al Edén es una película sobre dos artistas de diferentes
culturas en su viaje invernal a La Rioja. Uno de ellos es Ignacio,
un vasco que vive en Finlandia y está traumatizado por
culpabilidad que siente ante el accidente de tráfico de su hija, que
encuentra en coma en un hospital de Helsinki. El otro viajero se
llama Comaz, un dibujante suizo que vive en España y se
encuentra en un callejón profesional sin salida. En ese viaje
invernal, los hombres se acercan a contemplar pinturas religiosas
de diferentes iglesias y conventos situados en distintos puntos de
La Rioja y mientras viajan, charlan, entre otras cosas, de la
concepción que Dante tiene del paraíso, sobre la religión y sobre
el significado de la oración. Después de varias etapas, llegan a la
capilla de las bodegas Remelluri, donde un agnóstico pintor
vasco, Vicente Ameztoy realizó entre 1993-2000 su propia
interpretación de los últimos días felices de Adán y Eva en el
paraíso. Junto a esa obra, los hombres experimentan algo
especial, una conexión con su alma, y aprenden algo nuevo y
fundamental sobre sus propios traumas y el significado del
perdón que les dará da la posibilidad de un futuro mejor.
A journey to Eden is a film about two male artists travelling in winter in
the famous La Rioja wine-growing region of Northern Spain. One of the
men, named Ignacio - a Basque modern music composer living in

Finland - is weighed down by traumatic guilt at his daughter's car
accident in Helsinki: she is in a medical coma and will be returned to
consciousness in 10 days. The other man, named Comaz - a Swiss
painter living in Spain - is suffering from artist's block; the model for his
drawings of hands has announced she no longer wishes to continue.
The men go to see religious paintings showing human hands in
churches and monasteries and discuss such topics as Dante•s
concept of Paradise and the meaning of faith and prayer. They finally
end up in the chapel of the renowned Remelluri wine estate at La Rioja
Alavesa where in 1993-2000 the Basque painter Vicente Ameztoy
created his own visual interpretation of Adam and Eve's last moment of
happiness in Eden. While gazing at the painting, the travellers
experience a mental miracle. The travellers understand something new
and fundamental about the meaning of forgiveness. This gives them a
chance for a better future.

Un retrato en clave de comedia, irónico y sin compasión sobre las
carencias, debilidades y otras “virtudes” de los hombres de hoy:
perdidos y confusos en busca de una nueva identidad. Ocho

Esta es la historia de Juan Pedro Font de Mora que un buen día
allá por 1985 recibe un dinero por la venta de unos campos de
naranjas y sintiéndose el hombre más feliz de la pandilla decide
montar un negocio que en aquel momento pensaba le permitiría
cumplir con su sueño: vivir del cuento. 25 años después de haber
montado la librería y galería de fotografía Railowsky se plantea la
posibilidad de cerrar un negocio que ya forma parte de la historia
viva de la fotografía en España especialmente en cuanto a la
fotografía en blanco y negro, analógica y documental se refiere. El
presente documental narra ese día en el que Juan Pedro cree que
debe cerrar el negocio y emprende un recorrido por la historia de
su vida por la que pasarán importantes fotógrafos como: Alberto
García Alix, Alberto Schommer, Chema Madoz, Bernard Plossu…
personajes bien conocidos de nuestra cultura que se mezclarán
con otros más anónimos como los familiares del propio Juan
Pedro, amigos personales de su infancia, clientes o vecinos
quienes a través de sus historias tratarán de animar a Juan Pedro
para que continúe su particular carrera de fondo. Todo ello para
crear un divertido relato coral sobre la mítica librería/fotogalería
Railowsky. Este es pues un ensayo sobre las potencias de lo
pequeño: un hombre delgado, una librería escasa, una historia
sencilla… un pequeño gran universo a punto de desaparecer.
This is the story of Juan Pedro Font de Mora who one day back in 1985
received money from the sale of some orange fields and, feeling the
happiest man in the world, decided to start a business that, at the time,

he believed would make his dreams come true: live the life of a story
teller. 25 years after the creation of the Railowsky library and picture
gallery, there is the possibility of closing a business that is already part
of the living history of photography in Spain, especially in terms of

Aura María, joven mexicana con un oculto y conflictivo pasado,
consigue una oferta mediante la cual puede viajar a España
provista de un apetecible contrato de trabajo y estadía asegurada
en Madrid. Ya en Madrid descubre que el contrato de trabajo, la
estancia, incluso el billete de regreso, son falsos. Su mundo y su
ideal de futuro se desmoronan y queda enfrentada a un pasado
repleto de dolor y mentiras. Aura María termina viviendo en la
particular pensión de doña Pura. En realidad la pensión es un
mundo en sí mismo y a la vez el lugar del que Aura María hace su
refugio, contrastado siempre con la cruda realidad del exterior. En
ella entrará a formar parte de una particular familia de
desarrapados: Oswaldo, un argentino director de orquesta, sin
orquesta, obsesionado con la Obetura 1812 de Tchaikovsky;
Olivetti, un traductor de lenguas muertas travestido de mujer por
una razón difícil de imaginar; Paisa, un buscavidas
“consiguetodo”; y Andrés, un joven de otra época con una misión
por cumplir. Una pensión en la que conviven vivos y muertos sin
que sepamos hasta el final a qué mundo pertenece cada cual.
Inspirados por el espíritu hospitalario de doña Pura, entre ellos se
creará un potente de solidaridad y ayuda mutua que les llevará, al
ritmo de la genial Obertura, a pasar página… y a saltar por los
aires las cristaleras de Madrid…

Aura María, a young Mexican woman with a dark and troubled past,
receives and offer to travel to Spain with a good work contract and
lodgings in Madrid. Once in Madrid she discovers her work contract,
lodgings and her return ticket are false. Her world falls apart and she’s
forced to face her past full of pain and lies. Paisa a character who
earns his living selling all kinds of stuff round hotels and brothels in the
city center manages to get her a room in Madam Pura’s motel. Madam
Pura, a charitable soul who helps all kinds of people with problems,
runs an erotic line to maintain the motel and its guests. Actually the
motel is a world of its own and the place where Aura Maria finds her
refuge, contrasting with the crude reality of the exterior. There she
meets the rest of the characters: Oswaldo, the co-protagonist, an
Argentinian Orchestra Conductor who's obsessed with Tchaikovsy's
Oberture 1812; Olivetti, a transvestite who decided to dress as woman
when he became a widower so he wouldn’t fall in love again; or the son
of the motel owner, Andrés, who died years ago in a traffic accident. In
the motel dead and alive characters live together and until the end we
won’t find out who is who. Oswaldo, with the help of the motel guests
and Aura Maria, is able to conduct his concert in the Opera Theater.
While he does it we discover the reality of each character.

Cinco directores retratan a cinco presos políticos vascos. Una
mujer joven cuenta los días que quedan antes de que sea
detenida. Un hombre vuelve a la sociedad después de 17 años de
prisión. Una madre graba todas las conversaciones telefónicas
que mantuvo con su hija encarcelada, en 125 cintas de cassette.
Un ex-cura, intelectual y profesor de periodismo trata de
encontrarse a sí mismo en la soledad de su celda. Y un ex
dirigente de ETA vuelve a conectar con un amigo de su juventud,
que ahora es un director de cine. "Ventanas al interior" ofrece una
breve visión de la vida de la gente detrás de los barrotes, detrás
de los acontecimientos, detrás de los titulares.
Five directors portray five Basque political prisoners. A young woman

La niebla se fue de la parte vieja de la ciudad y Manel,
meteorólogo aficinado, hará todo lo imaginable para que vuelva.
Su amigo Enric, virgen a los 35, se debate entre el amor físico que
le ofrece una mujer madura y el amor caballeresco que siente por
una chica de la que sólo ha oído a hablar. Furri, conserje en un
museo de arte sacro, quiere volver a creer en Dios tras la muerte
de su hermano. Manel, Enric y Furri son las personas reales que
llevan los cabezudos en la fiesta mayor. Y esta es su historia, real
pero ficcionada, interpretada por ellos mismos. Vientre blanco es
una fábula cruda y sutil sobre otras maneras de buscar la
felicidad. La cámara de Jordi Lara nos transporta con naturalidad
a situaciones de una poesía delirante, pero contadas con una
mirada contenida, un diseño de planos austero y milimétrico y un
tiempo narrativo ajustado a la discreción y a la espera.
The fog has left the city and Manel, amateur meteorologist, will make
every effort to bring it back. Enric is secretly virgin at thirty-five and is in
love with a girl whom he has heard of. Furri, a watchman in a museum
of sacred art, wants to believe in God again. They are real people who
carry the capgrossos (carnival figure with an enormous head in
Catalonia) during the village festival , and these are the secret stories

hidden inside the capgròs. The little girl watching them says ''A capgròs
is a person who has swallowed someone else''. And the fog, the white
belly, is not returning yet. White belly is a harsh and subtle fable about
other ways to find happiness. The characters are real people who carry
the “capgrossos” played by themselves. Jordi Lara ushers us naturally
into highly poetical situations with a contemplative look.
(Català) La boira se n'ha anat de la ciutat i en Manel, meteoròleg
aficionat, farà tot el possible perquè torni. El seu amic Enric,
secretament verge als trenta-cinc anys, es debat entre l’amor físic que
li ofereix una admiradora en un xat i l'amor de cavaller medieval que
sent envers una noia que no ha vist mai però de la qual ha sentit
parlar. En Furri, vigilant en un museu d’art sacre que va perdre la fe
arran de la mort d'un ésser estimat, vol tornar creure en Déu. En
Manel, l'Enric i en Furri són les persones reals que porten els
capgrossos a la festa major: i aquestes són les històries secretes que
s'amaguen dintre el capgròs. “Un capgròs és com una persona que
s’ha empassat una altra persona” diu la nena que els observa. I la
boira que no torna. Ventre blanc és una faula crua i subtil sobre altres
maneres de buscar la felicitat en la voràgine de la societat actual de
consum i aparador. Els protagonistes són les persones reals que
porten els capgrossos d'una ciutat solitària, que s'interpreten a si
mateixos en històries que els toquen de molt a prop a la vida real.

En 1976, un Golpe de Estado de las Fuerzas Armadas desalojó al
Gobierno constitucional argentino, y una política de terror y
avasallamiento de los derechos humanos se instaló en el poder.
En pocos años, esta política desembocó en una espiral de
violencia oculta y silenciosa que asesinó a 30.000 ciudadanos de
toda edad y condición social. Se los mal llamó ‘desaparecidos’, y
había entre ellos pequeños de corta edad y criaturas en proceso
de gestación que vieron la luz en las cárceles de la dictadura
militar y que fueron robados por sus mismos secuestradores que
los anotaron como hijos propios. Esta película narra la historia de
Estela Barnes de Carlotto, una activista de los derechos humanos
en Argentina, presidenta de la Asociación Abuelas Plaza de Mayo,
que dejó de ser ama de casa para comenzar a tener visibilidad
pública, después de que en 1977 fuera secuestrada su hija Laura
Estela Carlotto. Cuenta de la transformación a lo largo de su vida,
la búsqueda de una esposa, la búsqueda de una madre, la
búsqueda de una abuela, la lucha por los ideales de justicia, la
lucha por la reconciliación, la lucha por los reencuentros.
In 1976, a military coup overthrew Argentina's constitutional
government and installed a state terror policy involving the systematic
violation of human rights. In a few years, this policy led to a spiral of
mute violence responsible for the killing of 30,000 citizens of all ages
and social backgrounds. Misleadingly named 'desaparecidos', these
victims included small children and even not yet born babies whose
mothers gave birth in prison during the military dictatorship. The

registered them as their own children. This film tells the story of Estela
Barnes de Carlotto, an Argentinian human rights activist and the
president of the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo. Once a
conventional housewife, she became a public figure after her daughter
Laura Estela Carlotto was kidnapped in 1977. A film about her lifelong
transformation; about the search for a wife, a mother, a grandmother;
about the struggle for the ideals of justice and reconciliation and the
long battle for reunion.

1976. Un seminarista regresa a su pueblo y se encuentra con que,
en la aldea vecina, se ha instalado una comuna alternativa, que
despierta recelos en las fuerzas vivas. Intentando convertirlos,
termina integrándose en la comuna; descubriendo los valores de
una forma de vida alternativa, y el amor, con todo el gozo y el
dolor que causa.
Breixo, a successful writer of 55 years, returns to Vilamor 33 years
after leaving. Vilamor was then-newly established democracy after
years of dictatorship closed- a village abandoned in the mountains in
Lugo, which had just set up a commune of young people who wanted
to live an alternative lifestyle to society. And Breixo was then a young
seminarian vacation in his hometown, near Vilamor, which is attracted
to that group of men and women -and one in particular, Sonia, of falling
in love- that rehabilitate the village, looking for return to rural life and
doing without private property; in a lifestyle that Breixo seems very
close to the ideal of Christian society. Therefore he defends them,
when the commune generates great hostility in the vital forces of his
people, and after his failed attempt to reconcile their religious ideals
with communal lifestyle, Breixo leaves the seminary and is integrated
into the commune, which, despite the difficulties, manages to get by.
But a serious misunderstanding of Breixo love with Sonia, he does
finally leave. Thirty-three years later, the life experience of that time has

Durante la posguerra española y las décadas siguientes muchos
habitantes de la isla de La Palma se vieron obligados a buscar
mejor fortuna cruzando el Atlántico con destino a Venezuela. La
historia oficial ha relatado sus hazañas dejando siempre de lado a
las mujeres y familias que se quedaron en el lugar de origen,
esperando señales de vida que tardaban en llegar. Algunas de
ellas esperaron más de lo que nunca habían pensado. Una espera
que marcó sus vidas, teniendo que sacar fuerzas para salir
adelante y hacer frente a las dificultades en un contexto moral,
social y político que relega a las mujeres a un papel secundario
en la historia. Esta película documental pretende poner atención
en sus vidas, en la historia jamás contada que estas mujeres
guardan en su memoria. Esta es la historia de las Viudas Blancas.
After the Spanish Civil War and in the following decades many
inhabitants of the island of La Palma were forced to seek their fortunes
across the Atlantic in Venezuela. The official story has recounted the
exploits of the men, always leaving aside the women and families who
remained in the place of origin, waiting for signs of life that were slow in
coming. Some waited more than they had ever thought. A wait that
marked their lives, trying to find the strength to move forward and deal

española. La vida en la academia, la instrucción militar y sus
cuadriculadas normas. Una cámara pegada a la piel y los gestos
de los cadetes que se preparan para volar. Mirando, como uno

indistinguibles, embarcados en misiones estratégicas. Y en medio

Diego y Gemma sienten un inmenso amor el uno por el otro. Sin
embargo, la imposibilidad de concebir un hijo empaña la felicidad
de la pareja y convierte la maternidad de Gemma en una
obsesión. En el entorno más hostil, una Sarajevo destruida por la
guerra, el destino acabará ofreciéndoles de la manera más cruel e
inesperada ese hijo que desean. Años más tarde, Gemma regresa
a Sarajevo con su hijo, Pietro, para asistir a una exposición en
memoria de las víctimas del asedio que incluye fotografías de
Diego, y tendrá que enfrentarse a su pasado.
Gemma visits Sarajevo with her son, Pietro. 16 years earlier, they
escaped the war torn city while Diego, the boy's father, remained
behind and later died. As she tries to repair her difficult relationship with
Pietro, she also confronts her past. Gemma first met and fell in love
with Diego in Sarajevo. They desperately wanted children but she
could not conceive. Amidst the siege of1992, they found a possible
surrogate, and Gemma pushed her into Diego’s arms, onlyto be
overwhelmed by guilt and jealousy.

WILAYA es una sencilla y bella historia sobre dos hermanas que
se reencuentran en los campamentos saharauis. Nos cuenta
cómo es la vida allí a través de Fatimetu, una española de origen
saharaui que se ve obligada a regresar a los campamentos tras la
muerte de su madre. Fátima encontrará el "amor" de Said. Pero
por encima de todo se encontrará con su hermana Hayat, un
ejemplo de superación que nos demuestra que si se quiere se
puede salir adelante incluso en circunstancias tan adversas, casi
una metáfora de lo que pasa en los campamentos donde parece
que se ha instalado la idea de que ya no se puede hacer nada y es
mejor vivir dejándose llevar por las circunstancias.
After 16 years living in Spain and never having been back to visit,
Fatima returns to the Wilaya of Smara after her mother’s death.
Awaiting her are her brother Jatri, who will soon be a father, and her
disabled sister Hayat. The clash between Occidental and Saharaui
cultures will be inevitable but Fatimetu’s voyage will not only bring her
closer to her roots but make her discover her true identity. WILAYA is
told against the true backdrop of the Saharaui Conflict: 150.000 people
with no passport and no country to call their own. They live in exile and
a legal limbo in the toughest desert in the world that acts as their
natural prison.

Cuando una estudiante de Bellas Artes en la Universidad de
Bilbao, Arrate Rodríguez, se entera de que dos chicas de su
misma facultad están planeando montar una banda de electrorock, aparece en escena realizando distintas propuestas estéticas
y de agitación y propaganda, convirtiéndose en pieza fundamental
del grupo con su cámara siempre en mano, dispuesta a registrar
todos los movimientos que realicen para llevar su proyecto
adelante. Arrate nos irá contando como eligen a la otra miembro
del grupo, las discusiones que tienen entre ellas sobre distintos
temas que les inquietan y qué visión quieren dar de ellos en sus
canciones; así, veremos discusiones sobre el sexo, la situación
actual del mundo, las tribus y los estilos globalizados, la elección
de una lengua concreta para cantar, los pilares fundamentales de
una sociedad que detestan, como la familia y los distintos
sistemas de control social.
When a student of Fine Arts at the University of Bilbao, Arrate
Rodriguez, discovers that two girls at her same faculty are putting
together an electro-rock band, she appears on stage with different
suggestions for their look and propaganda. She becomes an essential
part of the group with her camera always in hand, ready to record
everything they do to make their project a success. Arrate tells us how
they choose the other member of the group, the arguments between

them on different subjects and how they should reflect these issues in
their songs; we also see them discussing sex, the world today, tribus
and globalised styles, the choice of a specific language to sing their
songs, the mainstays of a society they detest, like the family and the
