Dear Student,
Welcome to McDowell’s 3rd Grade Class! I am so
thrilled you will be a part of our community! Meeting you
and helping you learn and grow are some of the things I
am really looking forward to. You will learn so much in
third grade! It is sure to be an incredible journey.

You can see your classroom, meet me and
drop off your school supplies!
I hope that you have enjoyed a marvelous summer break. My husband, Jon, and I welcomed
our first child, our daughter Ella, into our family in March. I have spent the summer playing with her
and watching her learn and grow. Ella enjoyed her first airplane ride in May when we flew to Chicago
to visit her Great Grandfather. Other than that, we’ve enjoyed taking daily walks around our
neighborhood, playing, laughing, visiting the library and reading lots of books.
I am so excited to meet you at the Meet & Greet on Monday, August 17. Please drop in and say
hello anytime between 4:00-6:00 PM. When you do, you can introduce me to your parent(s)/guardian(s)
and drop off your school supplies! The third grade supply list has been included in this envelope. This
supply list is a little bit different from the one you would find in stores because we require different
supplies than the district suggests. However, it is the same list that your third grade teachers gave you
at the end of the school year last year. If you are not able to get 12 folders, that is completely fine. Six
folders will be plenty for my class! If you are able to bring more tissue, that would be wonderful! We
always run out long before the school year ends.
A Few Changes to Shawsheen and a Few Reminders:








The schedule for Mondays will be 8:20 AM - 2:15 PM & Tuesday-Friday schedule will be 8:20 AM - 3:45 PM.
Again this year, we will have breakfast every morning in the classroom.
We will be in a new classroom this year, room 10!
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 19. Adult supervision begins at 8:05 and the first bell rings
at 8:20. Please do not arrive until 8:05.
We are excited that Mrs. Barnes (principal) and Ms. Tappy (assistant principal) are returning this year!
You are welcome to pay for lunches in the cafeteria while at school for the Meet & Greet.
Please make sure you are familiar with the Shawsheen dress code
If you have received this letter, but will no longer be attending Shawsheen, please call 348-2300 as soon
as possible to inform the office staff.
I am really looking forward to meeting you on Monday, August 17th at the Meet & Greet! I hope
you are ready for a year full of hard work and learning. Together, let’s make it a great year!

Usted puede ver su salón de clases, mi
encuentro y dejar sus útiles escolares!
Bienvenidos a la clase de 3er grado! Estoy muy
emocionada que seras parte de nuestra comonidad! Conocerte
e ayudarte aprender y crecer son algunas de las cosas alas que
deceo. Aprenderas mucho en el tercer grado! Seguramente
sera un viaje increible!
Espero que hayan disfrutado de unas vacaciones de
verano maravilloso. Mi marido, Jon, y me dieron la bienvenida a nuestro primer hijo, nuestra hija Ella, en
nuestra familia en marzo. He pasado el verano jugando con ella y mirándola a aprender y crecer . Ella disfrutó
de su primer viaje en avión en mayo, cuando volamos a Chicago para visitar a su bisabuelo. Aparte de eso,
hemos disfrutado de tomar caminatas diarias alrededor de nuestro barrio, jugando, riendo, visitar la biblioteca y
leer un montón de libros.
Estoy muy emocionada de conocerte en la junta Meet & Greet el lunes 17 de Agosto. Porfavor llega a
saludarme en cualquier momento de las 4:00-6:00 PM cuando lo hagas podras presentarme a tu(s)
padre(s)/guardian(es) y dejar tus utiles de la escuela! Tu lista de los utiles para el tercer grado han sido incluidas en
este sobre. La lista es un poco diferente ala que se encuentra en las tiendas, porque requierimos utiles diferentes
alos que recomienda el distrito. Aun asi es la misma lista que las maestras les dieron al fin del anio escolar el anio
pasado.
Algunos cambios a Shawsheen y algunos recuerdos:
 El horario para el lunes sera de las 8:20-2:15 y el horario de Martes-Viernes sera de las 8:20-3:45.
 De nuevo este anio tendremos desayuno en el salon.
 Estaremos en salon nuevo este anio sera el salon 10!
 El primer dia de escuela sera el Miércoles, 19 de agosto, supervision adulta empiesa alas 8:05 y la escuela
empiesa ala 8:20, porafavor no llegen antes de las 8:05.
 Estamos muy contentos de que la señora Barnes (principal ) y la Sra Tappy ( subdirector ) están
regresando este año!
 Puedes pagar tus almuerzos por adelantado en la cafeteria cuando vengas a la junta de Meet & Greet si
gustas.
 Porfavor asegurate de estar familiarizado con en codigo de vestimiento de Shawsheen.
 Si has recivido esta carta, pero no vas a atender Shawsheen, porfavor llam al 348-2300 los mas antes
possible para informarles a los de la officina.
Estoy deciando conocerte el Martes 17 de Agosto en la junta de Meet & Greet! Espero que estes listo(a) para
un anio de trabajar duro y apprender mucho. Juntos, hagamos un anio grandioso!
