14th Sunday in Ordinary Time C
Jesus does not send his disciples on missions without instructions. In today’s
gospel Jesus sends these disciples to towns that are located in Samaria; a region
whose people are cut off from mainstream Judaism. Jesus sends his disciples to
prepare the way for his journey through Samaria where his message about the
kingdom of God will be welcomed.
Why is this important for us? It is important because Jesus, through the apostolic
mission of the bishops of his church, sends laborers to prepare people for the
harvest for the kingdom of heaven. Our newly ordained priests in the archdiocese
testify to this fact. Let us pray for the success of their mission and ask Jesus to
guide and protect them as he guided and protected the seventy-two disciples in
today’s gospel. May our names be written in heaven according to the Scriptures.
XIV Domingo del tiempo ordinario C
Jesús no envía a sus discípulos en misión sin instrucciones. En el evangelio de hoy
Jesús envía a los discípulos a los pueblos que se encuentran en Samaria; una
región cuyos habitantes están aislados de la corriente principal del judaísmo.
Jesús envía a sus discípulos para preparar el camino para su viaje a través de
Samaria, donde será recibido su mensaje sobre el reino de Dios.
¿Por qué es tan importante para nosotros? Es importante porque Jesús, a través
de la misión apostólica de los obispos de su iglesia, envía obreros para preparar a
la gente para la cosecha para el reino de los cielos. Nuestros nuevos sacerdotes
en la arquidiócesis dan testimonio de este hecho. Oremos por el éxito de su
misión y pedirle a Jesús para guiar y protegerlos mientras guiaba y protegía a los
