El Museo Cerralbo es uno de los escasos
ejemplos en Madrid que muestra la
ambientación decorativa original de una
residencia aristocrática de finales del
siglo xix, escrupulosamente recuperada
en la primera década del siglo xxi. Exhibe
las colecciones reunidas por el XVII
marqués de Cerralbo, político, arqueólogo
y apasionado coleccionista. Antigüedades,
pintura y escultura de los siglos xvi al xix
se distribuyen de forma armónica por un
recoleto palacete con jardín en el centro de
Madrid.
The Cerralbo Museum is one of the few
examples in Madrid showing the original
decorative ambiente of an aristocratic
residence of the late 19th century,
carefully restored in the first decade of
the 21th century. Displays the collections
amassed by the XVII Cerralbo Marquis,
politician, archaeologist and passionate
collector. Antiques, paintings and sculpture
from the 16th to the 19th are distributed
harmoniously by a secluded mansion with
a garden in the center of Madrid.

El Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas
está dedicado a la vida cotidiana del
pasado y del presente. La colección
permanente sumerge al espectador en
la intimidad de las habitaciones de otras
épocas. Las exposiciones temporales
están preferentemente dedicadas al diseño
contemporáneo, y a los diseñadores y
artistas, consagrados o jóvenes, que crean
nuestro entorno. Y además descubren
al visitante muchos de los tesoros que
albergan nuestros almacenes.
The National Museum of Decorative Arts
devotes its permanent collection to historic
and current domestic spaces and allows
visitors to experience the daily life of various
cultures. Temporary exhibitions focus
primarily on the contemporary designers and
artists —both established and emerging—
that create our environment. Through these
visiting exhibits, the Museum is able to
display parts of the permanent collection
kept in storage and generally not visible to
the public.

The collection, formed by 12,600 pieces of
art, comprises an excellent picture gallery
containing works of Goya, El Bosco, Teniers,
Cranach, El Greco, Zurbarán, Murillo,
Sánchez Coello, Velázquez, Carreño,
Reynolds, Paret, Madrazo, Lucas or
Constable, amongst other painters.
It is complemented by sculptures and
sumptuary arts dated between the 4th BC
century and the beginning of the
19th century.

El Museo del Romanticismo propone un viaje
a una época fascinante. En este palacete,
situado en pleno centro de Madrid, se
recrean los ambientes, las estancias y la
forma de vida de la burguesía adinerada
del siglo xix. Paseando por el salón de
baile, el comedor, las salas privadas de los
señores de la casa o el Jardín, el visitante
conocerá a los principales protagonistas del
Romanticismo en España.
El Museo Sorolla conserva el ambiente
original de la vivienda y taller del pintor
Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (Valencia, 1863Cercedilla, 1923). Custodia la más rica
colección de sus obras, pinturas llenas de
color que irradian luz y vitalidad. Es una de
las casas de artista más completas y mejor
conservadas de Europa, y su jardín, también
diseñado por él, es un precioso oasis en la
ciudad.
The Sorolla Museum preserves the original
atmosphere of both home and study of the
painter Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (Valencia,
1863 - Cercedilla, 1923). It houses the
richest collection of his works, colourful
paintings irradiating light and vitality.
It is one of the most complete and best
preserved artist homes remaining in Europe.
The garden, also designed by himself, is a
beautiful oasis in the city.

The Romanticism Museum suggests a trip
into a fascinating period. Situated in the
centre of Madrid, this mansion recreates
the atmospheres, living rooms and way of
life of the 19th century wealthy bourgeoisie.
Wandering round the ballroom, the dinning
room, the owners’ private rooms
or the garden, visitors will know the main
protagonists of the Spanish Romanticism.

El Museo Lázaro Galdiano expone parte de
las colecciones legadas al Estado español
por José Lázaro Galdiano (1862-1947). La
colección —formada por 12 600 obras—
comprende una excelente pinacoteca con
obras de Goya, El Bosco, Teniers, Cranach,
El Greco, Zurbarán, Murillo, Sánchez Coello,
Velázquez, Carreño, Reynolds, Paret,
Madrazo, Lucas o Constable, entre otros.
Se complementa con escultura y artes
suntuarias fechadas entre el siglo iv a. C.
y principios del siglo xx.

shrouding visitors in power of

and content, stunning buildings and
collections, are joined to create unique
