• Do not use this form to apply to a Vanguard Magnet school. If you need a Vanguard Magnet application, contact your school or the
Vanguard Magnet program in which you are interested. Forms are also available at www.houstonisd.org/Vanguard.
• An application to Magnet schools may instead be submitted online. Please visit www.HISDChoice.com for more details.
• To be considered in the first round of screening, this application must be postmarked or delivered in person no later than December 19, 2014. Applications
received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis. Out-of-district applicants may be considered on a space-available basis after
June 1, 2015. Nonresident employees are considered to be in-district residents.
• Complete one application for each Magnet program to which you are applying. A separate application must be submitted to each school to which you apply.
• You will be notified by mail of the status of your application on March 27, 2015. No status updates can be given before this date.
If you wish to accept an offer of a seat you will need to visit your selected school to sign an entrance agreement after March 27, 2015 but no later than April 10,
2015. Failure to do so will mean your seat is no longer guaranteed.
As part of the acceptance process, when you sign your entrance agreement, you will be required to provide proof of residence within HISD boundaries and, for
entering Pre-K or kindergarten students, proof of age. Failure to do so by April 10, 2015 or providing incorrect information may result in the loss of your seat.

General Information: Refer to the “Office of School Choice” catalog or Web site for additional information about programs. Many elementary Magnets are
Schoolwide Programs (SWP). If a child is zoned to a school, he/she will automatically participate in the Magnet program. A student must submit a Magnet
application to be considered for any Magnet program to which he/she is not zoned. HISD provides bus transportation for Magnet students in accordance with the
Transportation of Magnet Students Guidelines.

Proceso de solicitud :
• No use este formulario para solicitar admisión a una escuela Vanguard Magnet. Si necesita una solicitud Vanguard Magnet,
comuníquese con su escuela, con el programa Vanguard Magnet en el que está interesado o en www.HoustonISD.org/Vanguard.
• Las solicitudes también pueden entregarse en línea. Visite www.HISDChoice.com para ver los detalles.
• Para ser considerado en la primera ronda de selección, debe entregar su solicitud en persona a más tardar el 19 de diciembre de 2014 o enviarla por correo

• Complete el formulario y envíe una solicitud a cada programa Magnet a la cual esté solicitando admisión.
• Se le notificará del estatus de su solicitud el 27 de marzo de 2015. No se darán informes antes de esta fecha.
Si el estudiante fue aceptado a un programa y desea aceptar la invitación, usted debe visitar la escuela a la que desea a asistir y firmar un acuerdo de entrada
después del 27 de marzo de 2015 pero a más tardar el 10 de abril de 2015, de otra manera no se le podrá garantizar un espacio en esa escuela.
Como parte del proceso, cuando firme su acuerdo de entrada, deberá proporcionar un comprobante de residencia dentro del distrito de HISD, y para los
estudiantes que están entrando a Pre-Kínder o Kínder, un comprobante de la edad del estudiante. Debe hacer esto a más tardar el 10 de abril de 2015,
no llenar este requisito o proporcionar información incorrecta puede resultar en la pérdida de su espacio.
