TEMÁTICA:
• A comedy focusing on two couples, Claudio and Hero, and Benedick
and Beatrice. Claudio is in love with Hero, although he is scared to tell
her. Don Pedro, Claudio’s friend, offers to help him. But Don John, Don
Pedro’s brother, organises a plot to make Claudio think Hero is
unfaithful. As a result, Claudio’s love for Hero is turned to hatred and a
desire for revenge.
• Benedick and Beatrice claim that they will never marry, Don Pedro
decides to make them fall in love. His plan succeeds and they end up
being genuinely in love with each other.
POSIBILIDADES DIDÁCTICAS:
• Analysis of the humour of the comedy: how it derives from the
characters themselves and how it depends on the funny situations.
• Comparison of the comedy with Shakespeare’s earlier plays.
• Discussion of the main topics of the play, relating them to
