Soil Stabilization Project Informational Sheet
We are notifying the public that Western Environmental (WEI) under the supervision of The
Cabazon Band of Mission Indians will begin moving soil at the Cabazon Resource Recovery
Park. This project will begin in October during normal business hours. The soil will be used as
fill dirt to stabilize existing infrastructure within the Reservation boundaries and will not be
transported on public roads.

The Tribe and WEI have worked with South Coast Air Quality Management District and
the Environmental Protection Agency to ensure the public’s health is protected with the
movement of this soil.

The soil has been tested by State and Federal Agencies along with the Tribe, and all
results have shown the soil is Non-hazardous per State of California levels and is
harmless to human health.

All documentation including the Dust Control Plan has been reviewed by the appropriate
agencies and copies are held at the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians Environmental
Office for review upon request.


Este es un aviso al público de que la compañía “Western Environmental” (WEI) bajo la
supervisión de la tribu Cabazon comenzara a mover tierra del parque industrial de recuperación
de recursos (CRRP) en Mecca, CA. El proyecto empieza en Octubre del 2013 durante horarios
normales. La tierra se va a mover para estabilizar infraestructura (terrenos) dentro del territorio
de la reservación de la Tribu y no se transportara por vías públicas.

La Tribu y WEI han estado colaborando con la agencia estatal de Proteccion al Medio
Ambiente (CalEPA, California Environmental Protection Agency) y también con el
Distrito de Control de Calidad del Aire (South Coast Air Quality Management
District, AQMD) para asegurarse de que no hay ningún riesgo para la salud pública.

La tierra ha sido examinada por agencias federales, estatales, y por la tribu, y todos los
resultados del análisis muestran que la tierra analizada no es material peligroso, de
acuerdo a los estándares del estado de California, por lo que no representan un riesgo
para la salud.

Toda documentación, incluyendo el Plan de Mitigación o Control de Polvo que pudiese
escapar al sitio donde se procesa el suelo a transportar (Dust Control Plan) ha sido
revisada por las agencias apropiadas y copias del plan están archivadas en la oficina del
Medio Ambiente de la Tribu para su consulta, previa solicitud

