Piarist Ministries As a seminarian progresses through his theology

Piarist Ministries
As a seminarian progresses through his theology studies, he will receive
two ministries: Lector and Acolyte. These two ministries provide him with an
opportunity to practice some of the liturgical functions of our Church. As a Piarist
seminarian progresses through his studies, he will receive two additional
ministries: Care for the Poor and Christian Education. These two ministries refer
to a Piarist’s fourth vow of educating the young, particularly the poor.
Institution of Ministries at Ponce
On May 21, Father Pedro Aguado, who is our Superior General, presided at
a Mass in Ponce, PR. During the Mass, Brother Jorge Ramirez received the
Ministry of Care for the Poor, and Brothers Pedro Rivas, Juan Pablo Eyzaguirre,
Abner Gonzalez and Juan Sebastian Manrique received the Ministry of Christian
Education.
Father Fernando Negro, who is our Provincial Superior, Father Francisco
Anaya, who is the Assistant General for America, and Piarists from our
communities in Ponce con-celebrated the Mass.
Father Aguado and Father Anaya visited from Rome in order to meet with
the Provincial Congregation and the seminarians in our Houses of Formation.

Hoy, 21 de mayo, nuestros hermanos del Seminario de Ponce han recibido
ministerios: el H. Jorge Ramírez ha recibido el ministerio de la atención a los
pobres; los Hermanos Pedro Rivas, Juan Pabo Eyzaguirre, Abner González y Juan
Sebastián Manrique han recibido el ministro de la Educación Cristiana.
Presidió la misa el P. Pedro Aguado, General de la Orden. Los miembros de
la presencia de Ponce estuvieron también presentes en la celebración.
El P. General cursa visita a la Congregación Provincial y a nuestras casas de
formación junto con el P. Francisco Anaya, Asistente General para América.
