Saint Gall Parish is a sacramental community of faith, guided by the Holy
Spirit and centered in the celebration of the Eucharist. We share the
mission of the Catholic Church to make known the presence of God’s
saving love as revealed to us by Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to praise
and worship God, to foster spiritual growth and conversion, to nurture our
community, and to reach out to all people in their spiritual and temporal
needs.
Jesucristo. Estamos dedicados a alabar y venerar a Dios, a promover

FEAR NOT
In these times, there is plenty to be afraid of, if
we only look around. It seems that every day the
news media have yet more bad news to tell: wars,
disease, terrorism, drought, social unrest, and more.
Some people have stopped using clock radios to wake
up in the morning, preferring a jarring buzzer to the
even more jarring morning news. What more do we
need before we realize that we are finite creatures,
and while there is much we can do to make our world
better, ultimately there is a lot that is simply not
within our grasp? To this our loving God says, “Be
strong, fear not!”
We must do what we can to make our world a
better and safer place, but we must also realize our
limits and that our ultimate safety is in the hands of
God. We can be comforted by the realization that God
loves us beyond measure, and will give us every help
in our efforts to make our world a loving and safe
place for everyone.

NO TEMAN
tan sólo mirar a nuestro alrededor.
No teman.”

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The second collection for September 12th & 13th
is for the Seminarian Fund. I am pleased to let you know
that we are blessed and now have ten young men
studying for the priesthood, several of whom are from
Nevada.
We still need to continue to foster vocations in our
diocese and continue to support the young men who are
in the seminary. One way to show our support is to
continue praying for them and their vocations. Another
and more temporal way to support is through giving.
Each year the cost of educating each of these students is
approximately $35,000.
All of the monies collected in this annual second
collection goes directly to support the seminarians in the
Diocese of Reno.
Sincerely Yours in Christ
Most Reverend Randolph Calvo
Bishop of Reno

ADORATION
Each of us has varying levels of faith. Yet we all
have prayer requests and want to see them
answered. When praying in intercession for
ourselves and others it is necessary to use all the
faith we have. Seeking the Lord with all that is
within our hearts can ease our worry, doubt, and
fear. Our faith is a gift from God. A wonderful opportunity to
bring our prayers of intercession to the Lord with complete
trust in Him presents itself at Adoration. Jesus invited us to
come to Him when He taught us to pray for our daily bread
and to be delivered from all evil. Prayer is not reserved for
just that. Prayers for our spouse, family, friends, neighbors,
the needs of the world, the unborn babies, and even our
enemies unite us with Jesus' prayers. Visiting our Lord at
Adoration strengthens us in our persistence, while also
strengthening and calming us in our journey. God tells us
there is no petition too small or too unworthy to be
brought before Him.
Come sit with Him awhile in prayer and listen for Him.

St. Gall Parish, in conjunction with the
Knights of Columbus will be holding a
Prayer Service on September 11th at
5:00 pm.
The Knights of Columbus began this
world day of prayer in 2004. This is a
day to pray for peace and for those working to achieve it.
Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson said "As we pray for
peace on September 11th, we not only honor the memory of
those killed that day, but also in a special way for all brave
men and women of the military who have sacrificed so much,
even their very lives, to bring about true peace rooted in
justice".
This prayer service is for people of all faiths to participate on
this very special day. All are welcome. For additional
information call the office at 782-2852.
BENEDICTINE RETREAT
Looking for a spiritually enriching day to
kick off the approaching Autumn season?
Sister Linda and Sister Lydia from the
Benedcitine Monastery - Our Lady of
Guadalupe in Phoenix, Arizona will be
presenting a Benedictine based retreat here at St. Gall
in Faith/Genesis rooms on Saturday, September
12th from 8am - 2pm with coffee, fruit, muffins, and
pastry in the morning and lunch to follow.
All women of the Parish are cordially
invited to join us for our first meeting
of the year, Tuesday, September 8 at
6:00PM. We will be serving pizza and
salad. It’s a great opportunity to meet women in the Parish
or to meet old friends. Feel free to invite parishioners who
are not members.
The Women’s Society is a ministry of the Church; we provide
the altar supplies, hosts and wine, we care for the altar linens
and vestments, we provide the missalettes and music books,
and the candles. We pray together at our meetings, do Mary’s
Way of the Cross during lent, and we can participate in a
retreat in California. Our Compassionate Committee
provides a service to family and friends of our parish
deceased, by preparing and hosting a reception when
requested by the family. We are also good members of our
community, we bring gifts to our Christmas party for a local
charity and have made baked goods to support local efforts.
We also have fun; playing games at our meeting, being
entertained by the Douglas H.S. Madrigal singers, or by
attending our spring luncheon/fashion show and expo.
We support one another during difficult times, we share our
joys especially when someone becomes a new grandmother,
and as women we understand the daily struggles we all go
through.
We hope you will choose to join us for fellowship and prayer.
