La película es una adaptación libre del Quijote. Al rodarla, el
equipo técnico y artístico realiza un viaje paralelo
(cinematográfico y vital) al de los dos protagonistas del libro; la
identificación de estos dos viajes es el tema principal de la
película. A nivel artístico, por tanto, no es esta película la
narración de una aventura, sino la aventura de una narración. Y,
a nivel vital, se puede considerar la primera película del Quijote
hecha por gente quijotesca.
HONOR DE CAVALLERIA is a free adaptation of the novel Don
Quixote. During its filming, production team and cast embarked on a
cinematic and biographical journey that mirrors the experiences of
the novel's two leading characters. The parallels between these two
journeys form the central theme of the film. In artistic terms, then, this
film is not "the narrative of an adventure, but rather the adventure of
a narrative'. On a more personal note, it could also be said to be "the
first film version of Quixote made by flesh-and-blood Quixotes".
