Fidel Castro met Colombian senator Piedad Córdoba
Caracas, 13 Ago. AVN .- The leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro had a meeting on Thursday
with the senator Piedad Córdoba, also the leader of the Colombian peace movement. They had a
open dialogue to analyze the regional situation.
In the fraternal reunion they discussed about the peace process in Colombia, the region"s situation
and the danger of war in the word, according to the press agency Prensa Latina.
Both parts expressed their optimism concerning the peace triumph and the building of a new world
where the human specie would be capable of taking advantage of his gain intelligence and
knowledge.
Córdoba asked Fidel Castro to met again on Sunday with groups of several key leaders who strive for
peace in Colombia
The revolutionary leader agreed, because he believes that the union between South American
nations is an important factor to avoid the possible nuclear collapse of the humanity, stated in the
note.
The Colombian senator congratulated the head of the Communist Party of Cuba for his birthday, and
gave him books about history and the actual reality of her country.
Fidel Castro gave the senator and his assistant, Danilo Rueda, autographed copies of his book "La
victoria estratégica” (The Strategic Victory).
