Week 1:

Learn the months of the year. Use these websites to help you:

Draw an illustration to represent each month of the year in your language books. (For
example, you could draw school supplies for enero, to represent the start of school.)

Research the celebration on ‘cinco de mayo’. Write at least one paragraph about the
following (do not copy and paste from the internet):
o What does this day celebrate?
o Why is it celebrated?
o Who celebrates it?
o What is significant about this celebration?
o Include any other interesting information about this celebration

Complete the National Identity Card from last term if you haven’t already.
Week 2:

Practice saying the date, including the day of the week, date and month.

Look up the following holidays. For each, write the full date in your Spanish books.
The first one has been done for you:

Week 4:

Research the Mexican tradition of the quinceañera. Find out:
o What it is
o When it is celebrated
o Who celebrates it
o How it is celebrated
o Why it is significant
Present your information on an A4 or A3 sized paper. You must put the information in
your own words and include images.

Choose another Spanish or Hispanic holiday or celebration to research. Find out:
o What it is
o When it is celebrated
o Who celebrate it
o How it is celebrated
o Why it is significant
Put your research in your own words and include images. Present this together with
the information on the quinceañera.


Week 5:


Complete the word search and crossword.

Draw and colour illustrations to represent Las Estaciones (the seasons) and El tiempo
(the weather) in your language books.

Find out how to say 3 additional types of weather in Spanish. These must be different
from the ones learned in class. Record the Spanish words and the English translations
in your language book.
Week 6:

Write a poem about the seasons. The poem must be 4 stanzas long and have 5 lines in
each stanza. It should follow this format:
o Season
o Colours of the season
o Months of the season
o Weather of the season
o Your choice (e.g. your favourite, your birthday, a special holiday, etc.)

Here is an example of one stanza:
Primavera
Primavera es rosado y verde
Septiembre, Octubre y Noviembre
Hace fresco y hace sol
Mi cumpleaños es en primavera



Practise your Spanish greeting and introduction for Student Led Conferences
Learn the names of relatives. Use these websites to help you:

Create your family tree. Complete this on one page of your Language Book.
o On each apple, write the name of a relative in Spanish (e.g. abuela, padre)
o Under each apple, write a short sentence about that relative. For example:
 Esta es mi madre, Maria.
 Mi abuela tiene ochenta y uno años.
 Mi abuela se llama Mary.
o Add colour to your family tree.
