SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Mr. Radwan is an enthusiastic young economist with about 11 years of experience in the field of applied
economics in general with a broad research interest focusing on Agricultural Economics, Food Economics,
Agricultural Marketing, Obesity and Health Economics. Also, with a broad geographical coverage in African
countries such as Egypt, European ones such as Spain and the United States of America combining teaching,
academic as well as professional experience. Mr. Radwan obtained his B. Sc. with a specialization in agricultural
economics from Cairo University in June of 2002 ranking first with a grade of excellent with honor. Accordingly,
he was appointed as an assistant lecturer at the department of agricultural economics by Marsh of 2003. As a
demonstrator, he has been involved in the applied section of several courses including principles of agricultural
marketing, principles of micro economics, and farm management. He has been working as well, on a part basis, as
a research assistant with the center for Agricultural Economic Studies (CAES) at Cairo University since June of
2002 involved in several projects. Since then he is trying to do his best to help his University and country as
whole. When he got an opportunity to continue his postgraduate studies in Spain he did not hesitate in doing so
with the aim of helping his country with new experience and skills in his field. He finished his master thesis on
food safety issues which have been choosing as the best master thesis presented at IAMZ during 2009, also, he
obtained another Master of Science in Economics from Barcelona University on 2010. Now he is finishing his
Ph.D. program at Barcelona University which concentrates on the role of Economic factors on Obesity prevalence
and diet quality in Spain. Since 2005 he was working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment and
has participated in many competitive projects, three of them were a collaboration projects conducted in Egypt and
Financed by the Spanish agency for international cooperation and development (AECID). Also he published some
articles in peer reviewed international journals and presented his research results in many international
conferences. Moreover, he got a scholarship as a visiting researcher at the Economic Research Services of the US
Department of Agriculture (ERS-USDA) from April until September of 2011. Within the last 10 years, he gained
extensive professional experience in a wide spectrum of analytical tools include, but not limited to, Experimental
Economics techniques such as Choice Experiment and Experimental Auctions; Demand Systems estimation and
consumer behavior analysis techniques; Time Series analysis techniques, Duration and Survival analysis
techniques, Analytical Hierarchy process (AHP); Structural Equations Modeling (SEM) Non Parametric analysis
techniques; Sector assessments and project feasibilities, design, implementation, and result-based monitoring and
evaluation (including measuring client satisfaction and perception); supply (value) chain analysis “highlighting
the positive/ negative effect of government and private sector institutions within value chain”; Gap and SWOT
analyses.

Participated as Economic Analyst in implementing an activity entitled “Assess Client Satisfaction for
SFD’s Small and Micro Credit Products” of the AfDB-funded MSE Loan Project; managed by the Social
Fund for Development (SFD). Was responsible for the process of collecting data from Cairo governorate.
I participated in data entry and data polishing and I was the main responsible for data analysis using SPSS
and participated in drafting the final report to measure the satisfaction of the beneficiaries of the AfDBfunded MSE Loan project. Duration: June-December 2012.
Participated as Economic researcher in the project entitled “Las preferencias sociales, consumo de
alimentos, calidad de la dieta y obesidad en España: Implicaciones para la política agrícola y alimentaria”
(AGL2010-18781) (Social preferences, food demand, diet quality and obesity in Spain), financed by the
Spanish Ministry of Education. I was responsible for necessary data collecting, the development of a new
diet quality index, and the analysis and estimation of the different model and demand systems. Duration:
January 2011- December 2013.
