Hello Everyone!
My name is Mrs. Villanueva and I am currently starting my eleventh year as a
Fifth Grade Teacher at P.S.8. I have taught grades 3-5 and work with grades 1-2
throughout the year during the various Morning Programs that are specifically for
English Language Learners. Since I have worked with the younger grades, I know
many of your children and I am super excited to have such an amazing set of
students this year! I also look forward to all the amazing opportunities we will
share this year.
Parents please remember, our classroom door is always open for you! If you ever
want to speak with me I am always available in the morning before school begins,
the afternoons after dismissal. We would just have to make an appointment. Also
remember, that we have "Open Appointments “every Tuesday afternoon from2: 303:30. So feel free to drop in whenever you want to discuss your child's progress.
Missed an appointment but you still want to see how your child is progressing? Not
a problem! During after hours, just log in to your child's learnboost page to see
daily progress and attendance. Your child will be getting access to their account
the second week of school and will need your support to create their accounts.
Since this is the beginning of the school year, several forms will be going home
with your child over the next few days. Please fill these forms in completely in
blue or black ink and return them to school as soon as possible.
I do want to take this time to inform parents that I will be on maternity leave
from the end of September until the beginning of November. However, I ensure
you your children will be in good hands. We have amazing teachers who have
experience working with bilingual children and will be covering all the topics that I
would be teaching during my leave. I promise I will be back as soon as possible!
Thank you so much for your commitment to your children and I hope to meet you
all very soon at the School Open House later on in September.

Mi nombre es Mrs. Villanueva y actualmente estoy comenzando mi año numero once
como maestra de quinto curso en el Escuela 8. He ensenado a los cursos 3-5 y
trabajo con los alumnos del 1-5 durante el año escolar en los varios programas de
enriquecimiento los sábados y por las mañanas. Como he trabajado con los
estudiantes de los cursos menores, conozco a muchos del los estudiantes de nuestra
clase y estoy muy contenta en ser su maestra este año.
Padres, por favor recuérdense que la puerta de nuestra aula siempre esta abierta
para ustedes. Si desean hablar conmigo, estoy disponible por cita en la mañana
antes de comenzar la escuela y en las tardes después del despacho. También
acuerden que todos los martes de 2:30-3:30, tenemos lo que se llama “Citas
Abiertas” y pueden pasar a hablar conmigo sobre el rendimiento escolar de su
hijo(a). Si no pudo asistir a su cita, no hay problema. Solamente entre a la cuenta
de learnboost de su hijo(a) para ver como va en sus tareas y asignaciones. Ellos
tendrán acceso a sus cuentas a partir de la segunda semana de clases pero
necesitaran su apoyo para crear sus cuentas.
Como es el principio del año, varios formularios serán enviados hacia la casa entre
las siguientes semanas. Por favor, llene los formularios y envíelos de regreso con
sus hijos lo mas pronto posible. Llene los formularios en lapicero azul o negro
solamente.
También quiero tomar este tiempo para informarles que estaré en salida de
maternidad desde el final de septiembre hasta el principio de noviembre. Pero, le
aseguro que sus hijos no se atrasaran ya que todo el trabajo y los temas que
tienen que cubrir, estarán ensenados por la substituta. Tenemos educadores
excelentes que tomaran mi lugar en lo que yo regreso.
Muchísimas gracias por su dedicación a la educación de sus hijos y espero
conocerlos bien a todos este mes, durante la orientación de padres.
