How to get to Alcalá de Henares
From Madrid Airport - Barajas
By Taxi
From the Airport, take a taxi to Alcalá de Henares. The ride takes about 20 minutes and costs
approximately 40.00 €.
By Train
Go to the train station located in terminal 4 and take the line C1 and get off in Chamartín,
Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos or Atocha train station. From these stations you must take lines
C-2 or C-7 to Alcalá de Henares.
By Underground
Go to the subway station located in terminal 2 and terminal 4 of Barajas Airport and take the
subway line 8 (pink), to Nuevos Ministerios subway station. Once you arrive there, follow the
signs to "Tren de Cercanías" (Commuter Trains). When have purchased your ticket, look for the
platform of line C-7 trains, whose final destination is Alcalá de Henares, or the line C-2 trains
with final destination Guadalajara, although you have to get off in Alcalá de Henares.
The trip from Madrid Airport to Alcalá de Henares train station takes about 1 hour and 30
minutes. The price of both tickets will be 2.50 € (subway) and 3,30 € (Commuter train).
By Bus
The easiest way to get Alcalá de Henares is taking bus number 824 at terminals T1 and T2 at
the Airport. You must get off at the stop located in Brihuega Street in Alcalá de Henares, which
is ubicated in the downtown; in addition, it´s the closest stop to the Workshop venue. The ride
takes about 40 minutes and the price of the ticket is 3.60 €.
This bus departs from the Airport every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday between 6:30 and
22:00 and every hour on Saturdays, Sundays and holiday days from 7:30 to 22:30.
In addition, there is an express bus that goes from terminals T1, T2 and T4 to the centre of
Madrid. The last stop is Atocha where you can take the Commuter train (lines C-2 and C-7) to
Alcalá de Henares. The price of this bus ticket is 2.00 €.

From downtown Madrid
By car
Take the highway A-2, direction Zaragoza, exit 23 to Alcalá de Henares (West). The ride takes
around 30 minutes.
By train
From Chamartín, Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos and Atocha railway stations in Madrid, take
“Tren de Cercanias” (Commuter train). Once you have purchased your ticket, look for the
platform of lines C-1/C-7 trains which have their final destination in Alcalá de Henares, or line
C-2 trains with final destination in Guadalajara. You must get off in Alcalá de Henares.
The trip from downtown Madrid to Alcalá de Henares train station takes about 50 minutes, and
it costs around 3 €.
By Bus
Madrid is well connected to Alcalá de Henares throught the Intercambiador Avenida de
América (Subway station Avenida de América). Once there, take the bus Nº 223 (Alsa), which
departs to Alcalá de Henares every 10-15 minutes. The ride takes 40-45 minutes. The ticket
costs 3.60 €.
